For shots, I stick mostly to the stomach but am considering the butt cheek and would like to know if anyone else has tried that. Upper arms are a no-go since I'd faint trying it myself.

GreyHarbour88archiveAug 7

Tried the upper arm, thigh and belly. Belly wins for ease. Might give glutes a go once I finish the needles I have left for the current pen.

Cool, which pen did you end up with if you don't mind saying?

WarmMeadow92archiveAug 7

I switch between left and right stomach plus left and right hips, steering clear of stretch marks, old surgery spots and anything within two inches of the belly button. Never used arms or buttocks. No strong proof that the spot changes how well these meds absorb.

Love the technical talk. Why skip stretch marks? I don't think it creates new ones, though that came up in my studies back in Australia. Standard spots are back of arms, five centimetres either side of the belly button at ninety degrees, or thighs while pinching so you stay out of muscle. Bum is usually mentioned for things like testosterone.

AmberCinder18archiveAug 7

Just left and right of the belly button, nothing else. Simple as that.

GreyWillow31archiveAug 7

Stomach or glutes. Glutes are straightforward because there's usually plenty of fat there.

Sounds good, hope it works out for you.

How do you handle the glute spot? Pick one cheek and use a mirror, or just go in without looking?

RustBramble70archiveAug 7

Can't wait to see what they say to that.

SlowSparrow78archiveAug 7

For these meds I use the stomach because it doesn't sting. Hips and thighs are saved for the ones that do sting, and IM goes for the other stuff.

SteadyMeadow73archiveAug 7

Stretch marks get avoided because they act like scar tissue and the needle is harder to push through. I stay with the belly using the usual spots and also use love handles while I still have them.

I saw some comments saying the injection spot can change how strong the GLP feels. After I did one right on the outer love handle the effect from Reta seemed weaker, then switching back closer to the belly button made it feel stronger again. Just my own experience, so now I keep it within that belly-button range.

PlainAlder11archiveAug 7

My wife and I take turns on the right and left sides of the belly button every Friday morning.

Anecdotal reports of different spots giving different strength are common, which is why I noted the lack of actual studies on this class of meds. A single strong or weak week is tough to pin on the site alone because of normal variation in how the body processes the dose, what you ate, activity level and so on. Two to four inches from the belly button is my usual area too. I skip love handles, anything extreme and definitely the buttocks. From Lilly:

LOL, I just made the same thing, you got there a moment earlier.

Tirz always goes in the belly and I try to rotate like clock positions two inches out from the button, though I just guess the hour since I don't track it exactly. Skip the thin stretch-mark spots. Belly is only for tirz, maybe because it feels like the best area. Bum is for GHK-Cu since it doesn't leave bruises or lumps there. I use an auto-inject pen with a side trigger and just swab a big patch then stab without looking. Used to use a mirror but twice a day is too much effort. Hips and thighs are for the non-GLP stuff. Thighs are handy but right now one has an itchy reaction so I'm giving it a rest. Non-stinging daily shots go in the left arm batwing area because I'm right-handed.

Early on I got bad bruising and someone said it was from hitting a stretch mark. Not sure if that was right but it stuck with me and I haven't had bruising since. It turned into a superstition for me, like the old saying about stepping on cracks. Now I just pick another spot when I see one.

SteadyKettle52archiveAug 7

A friend about to do their first Mounjaro shot asked if they should put it in the shoulder.

Alternate with your wife, that's funny. Stabbing without looking is the way. Starting MOTS-C next week, hope it doesn't mess up the bum too much.

QuietCinder90archiveAug 7
↳ replying to @WarmMeadow92

Wow, superstition. I did one tonight in a stretch mark and it hurt a lot, never again. We had that crack saying too, and I still avoid them after one time I wasn't watching and went down hard, though a cute guy helped me up.

Upper outer glute is the usual spot. Not going deep so it's not a big worry. Just pinch some fat with one hand and pin there, pretty straightforward.

With GLPs I was switching between spots ten centimetres around the belly and the upper arms. Right now only doing Elora and Tesa, all around the belly, no irritation.

Translation: I alternate. My wife and I.

AmberSignal47archiveAug 7

Usually in the kitchen, twice in the bathroom and once in the garage.

IronLantern24archiveAug 8

Tried just about every fatty spot. Now Reta only goes in the stomach, away from the button and veins. GHK-CU goes in the upper glutes because that's the only place it doesn't burn badly.

IronFenwick84archiveAug 8
↳ replying to @GreyHarbour88

That's some discipline. I had boxes of syringes in the closet but ditched them the second the pens showed up.

ClearBeacon24archiveAug 8
↳ replying to @QuietCinder90 (opening post)

Thighs, upper inner legs and stomach are my main spots.

IronFenwick84archiveAug 8

Belly and love handles now. Tried back of upper arm and glute. Arm was awkward because I couldn't pinch and keep track of the swabbed spot at the same time. Glute stayed sore for days. Belly looks bruised but the weight loss and how I feel make it worth it.

ClearBeacon24archiveAug 8
↳ replying to @IronLantern24

Not sure a short needle could reach a vein in the gut or a fatty spot anyway.

PlainQuill85archiveAug 8

Five centimetres around the belly button for reta, switching quadrants. Upper glute for GHK-cu.

QuietCinder90archiveAug 8
↳ replying to @ClearBeacon24

Hitting a vein or small vessel is possible. That's why the advice is to pinch and go in at ninety degrees so it stays in the fat layer.

QuietCinder90archiveAug 8
↳ replying to @IronFenwick84

Don't want a sore bum either. Love the attitude, keep it up.

No clue how this ended up here as I wasn't the one typing those letters 🤣🤣🤣

BlueFenwick71archiveAug 8

I've been switching between the sides of my belly and upper legs, but the belly has taken over lately. Any scar tissue or stretch marks get skipped since those really ache.

PlainAlder11archiveAug 8
↳ replying to @QuietCinder90

There are several married ladies living nearby who I'd like to rotate between. 🤣

IronLantern24archiveAug 8
↳ replying to @ClearBeacon24

The syringes I use are mostly eight millimeters long, which is why I've gone through this experience many times. Once I started using shorter ones instead, the whole thing stopped occurring.

PatientKettle48archiveAug 8

When I'm by myself with nobody around ha I pick a random section near my belly button though sometimes I favor one area so I link each section to a certain week and if a month has an extra shot time I go straight for the eye to get the strongest result but just during that extra week naturally.

SlowAnchor19archiveAug 9

Bedroom is where I go most often for this. All the pep supplies live in that room so at five a.m. I tend to have very little covering me.

This update brings real excitement to the thread.... 😳 ... 😎 👍

CopperBeacon24archiveAug 9

My girlfriend grinned while offering to jab that into my rear. I bet she'd get a kick out of it

ClearLedger33archiveAug 9

I picture a sizable tic-tac-toe grid across my stomach area, though it has shrunk lately, with the navel right in the center spot. Every remaining position works for shots, and I move counterclockwise through them. On a separate note I give myself daily TRT under the skin while rotating between the sides or love handles. I handle KPV the same way each day by switching thighs. I tried Tirz on the thighs just twice and felt noticeably more hunger along with extra thoughts about food.
