Reta and diet - anyone else have major diet/taste changes on this stuff?

9 replies9 peopleNov 12, 2025☆ Follow
Summary

Has anyone noticed major shifts in food preferences or aversions while taking Reta?

Several users describe strong aversions to greasy fast food, sweets, and sugary drinks after starting Reta, often feeling repulsed or physically unwell when trying them. Cravings for these items drop while interest in savory or healthy foods rises, with slower digestion cited as one reason certain foods no longer agree. One participant noted reading that sugar cravings can increase instead.

I've been using Reta for roughly a month and it's really effective. One good unexpected effect is that McDonald's and other greasy junk now completely turns my stomach and makes me feel ill. I'm not sure if this is normal or just me. I'm increasing toward 2mg after starting at 1mg.

Before Reta I was downing 5 or 6 cans of Coke Zero daily, but I've quit that entirely since starting. It's been over a month since my last one.

That's typical with incretin mimetics.

Sweets used to be hard to resist, especially if they were sitting in the office. Now it's much easier to skip them. The taste is still okay but I don't crave them the same way. Instead I'm drawn to healthy savory options.

Slower digestion from this means greasy foods don't sit well. Pay attention to what your body says because it's right. With pizza I stop at slightly full and no more. The scale shows extra weight the next day so I know it's lingering.

I agree and it's great. Salt and sugar, including artificial, have no flavor now while a veggie omelet tastes fantastic.

From what I've seen online many users end up craving sugar on Retatrutide.

Same thing for me except it was alcohol and opiates.

Exactly. I used to drink regular soda nonstop along with super sweet juices and tons of milk. Now it's just water, almond milk and red bulls. Big shift.

It was a bit like that for me too, though I didn't eat much sugar before starting reta.
