I’m taking 2 mg weekly and dropped 9 lbs over the past two weeks, which feels huge since I started at 238 and now sit at 229. Haven’t seen the 220s in years. No real side effects, so I wondered if it was even working, but I notice only mild appetite changes mainly around sweets. I can still eat a big meal like ribs if I want, and even after two days of extra eating during playoffs the weight kept coming off. At this point I’m fine with the current level of control as long as it keeps me away from desserts and snacks. Protein intake hasn’t been an issue either.

If you’re just starting out with weight loss, part of that 9 lb drop is probably water. Sustaining 4.5 lb a week isn’t realistic and would require a daily deficit over 2,000 calories.

That’s the kind of detail I was hoping to hear. So this is basically the honeymoon stage?

LevelThistle44archiveMay 25
↳ replying to @KeenSparrow66

That’s a useful way to frame it. As long as you don’t expect the pace to hold forever there’s usually no real downside. I aim for about 1 % loss each week and have kept that going for 23 weeks now, moving from 282 lb down to 226 lb while accounting for creatine.

GreySparrow51archiveMay 25

You still have to keep using it even after the initial excitement fades.

WryLedger77archiveMay 25

This medication really is something. Stick with it and remember the early pounds are often water. You can probably still drop around 2 lb a week and picture where you’ll be in three or six months. I’m in week 11, just moved up to 3 mg, and have been losing 2 lb most weeks, sometimes 3. I now weigh less than I did in high school decades ago. It’s been life changing.

IronLantern24archiveMay 25

It won’t stay this easy. Once your body adjusts you’ll lose more slowly and won’t be able to eat anything without thinking about it.

LevelThistle44archiveMay 25
↳ replying to @IronLantern24

I’m not dropping weight at that speed either, but I can still eat whatever I feel like, just smaller portions. Symptom-wise I might be unusual, or maybe others like me just don’t post much.

WryMarble87archiveMay 25

From what I’ve seen in other reports the typical rate is around 10 lb a month or 2 lb weekly. I followed that pattern for the first seven months, then slowed to 5–8 lb monthly for the next three, and now that I’m close to goal I’m only losing 2–4 lb a month. The body adjusts over time.

IronLantern24archiveMay 25
↳ replying to @LevelThistle44

I can eat whatever I want too, but I’m only averaging 1 lb a week now, which is probably the healthier pace anyway. Not working out as much as others might be slowing things down further.

PlainAlder11archiveMay 25
↳ replying to @LevelThistle44

I agree it was water weight. My first week or so looked like that, but now it’s settled to 1–2.5 lb a week.

PatientTimber45archiveMay 25
↳ replying to @WryMarble87

Two pounds a week sounds great. I’m at 6 mg weekly and the final 10 lb are really tough. I have to stay around 1,000 calories while still doing resistance training and 15 k steps, or else consider adding more of another medication and feeling rough for two weeks. At 6 mg I can still eat 2,100 calories and have to manage food noise myself, so I’m moving up to 8 mg next week.

GreenSignal63archiveMay 25

Same here. Appetite suppression isn’t strong but the urge to snack on junk has disappeared. No more late-night raids on leftover candy, and when eating out I skip the usual starter and main combo.

WarmMarble23archiveMay 28
↳ replying to @LevelThistle44

I wrote about appetite effects before. For me and others it mainly makes you feel full sooner. Hunger still shows up and food doesn’t become unappealing, which I like because I still want to enjoy meals. The difference is I’m less likely to grab chips once I’m already satisfied. Building a habit of balanced meals helps cut calories and junk without needing stronger suppression.

WarmMarble23archiveMay 28
↳ replying to @KeenSparrow66 (opening post)

Focus on balanced meals and you’ll stay full enough to avoid extra junk. Being able to eat what you want is nice, and the quicker fullness after meals works well as appetite control without turning food off the way some other medications do. I lost a good amount once I reached 2 mg, then things leveled out with some ups and downs, but over 11 weeks the trend has been a bit over a pound a week downward. Tracking with an app helps if you aren’t already.

WarmAlder13archiveMay 30
↳ replying to @WarmMarble23

That matches what I’ve noticed. Nausea has eased, so I feel like eating more again, yet portions are smaller because I get full fast. I should be around 2,100 calories but struggle to reach even 1,600 while trying to hit protein targets.

QuietHarbour72archiveMay 31

Four milligrams is the only dose where I’ve felt clear appetite control. I’m a 6-foot male at 190 lb, responded strongly to another medication before, and moved from 1 mg to 2 mg to 4 mg over four weeks. I split it into two 2 mg shots every 3.5 days.

PlainAlder11archiveMay 31
↳ replying to @QuietHarbour72

I thought 2, 4, and 6 mg were already giving me fullness and no appetite, but moving to 8 mg three weeks ago changed things noticeably. Part of the difference might come from the batch itself.

LevelLantern55archiveMay 31
↳ replying to @GreenSignal63

I skipped the chips and dip at the Mexican place today.

GreyCompass76archiveJun 1

This medication is wild. Just finished week four at 1.5 mg and I’m down 18.5 lb with no side effects. Hoping the strong start continues. Stats: 6 ft, started at 305, now 286.5, dosing every five days.

WryCinder14archiveJun 1
↳ replying to @GreySparrow51

That advice applies to plenty of other parts of life too.

PlainAlder11archiveJun 1
↳ replying to @GreyCompass76

4.6 lb a week is a lot and probably too fast. Could still be water weight.

KeenSparrow66archiveJun 1

My wife had every side effect on another medication including sulfur burps and bad gas. Switching over removed all of that so far.

SlowBramble67archiveJun 1
↳ replying to @PatientTimber45

Have you tried only the other medication? I stayed on it for 28 weeks at 5 mg and always responded. Tried reta for two weeks to compare and hunger returned, no weight came off, and I had heavy diarrhea the last three days. Went back and everything normalized. I’m not saying one is better, but the other seems stronger for hunger control. Just curious, not a recommendation.

I was put off at first by the lack of information. In Western markets brand names usually signal quality, but that may not apply the same way here. Could be anything from a small operation to something else. Who exactly are you referring to?

QuietAnchor73archiveJun 1
↳ replying to @KeenSparrow66

That’s a new expression for me. I’ll keep it handy.

QuietAnchor73archiveJun 1

My wife was claiming she had more gas than me until I showed her a study saying women actually pass more. Now it’s a competition.

PatientTimber45archiveJun 1

Took 6 mg this morning and still no slowing of digestion. I add 2.5 mg of the other medication three days later just for appetite control.

PlainAlder11archiveJun 1
↳ replying to @QuietAnchor73

I was talking about finding information on that particular source. I get mine from another place.

QuietAnchor73archiveJun 1
↳ replying to @PlainAlder11

I have some of that too. Who told you they prefer not to be known?

PlainAlder11archiveJun 2
↳ replying to @QuietAnchor73

One of the moderators on that platform mentioned it after someone asked about inventory recently.

WarmWillow99archiveJun 2

One pound of fat equals roughly 3,500 calories, so early losses are mostly water and glycogen rather than pure fat unless you’re burning huge amounts. Don’t worry when the rate slows and avoid increasing the dose just to chase faster numbers, since that can speed up tolerance and bring unnecessary side effects. Consistent 1–2 lb a week is the target range to stay in.

QuietAnchor73archiveJun 2
↳ replying to @PlainAlder11

Thanks. The rush some people show when trying to buy explains why questionable sellers show up in these spaces.

RustSignal22archiveJun 2
↳ replying to @KeenSparrow66

You’re doing it right. Don’t get discouraged if progress slows in the next weeks. The first 10–14 days are fastest because glycogen and water drop quickly. Real fat loss comes after that. One to one and a half pounds of actual fat per week is solid and helps preserve muscle, especially if you lift. Aggressive deficits often cost muscle too. Focus on fat, not just the scale, and when you reverse diet later your muscles will look fuller again.

PlainAlder11archiveJun 2
↳ replying to @QuietAnchor73

Even someone well known asked me about that batch. I’m telling you it feels different, though I’m fine today it leaves an impression.

QuietAnchor73archiveJun 2

It’s solid but not much different from what I get elsewhere. Picked up a kit of another version this week that has the same red caps, though that probably doesn’t mean anything. I’ll see how it goes once I finish the current one.

AmberQuill15archiveJun 2
↳ replying to @KeenSparrow66

I’ve noticed the strong phase comes in waves. Month one I felt the effects but the scale didn’t move at all, which was disappointing after eating less. I kept going anyway. Month two I lost 14 lb and that felt like the next wave started. Seeing steady progress never gets old when you’ve struggled before.

RustFenwick36archiveJun 2
↳ replying to @QuietAnchor73

I’ve tried three different versions. Each gave a slightly different feeling. One stung on injection but worked. Another helped me lose a lot over several months. I switched to the third a couple months ago and reached goal, though mornings feel more nauseating on it. Still using it while lowering doses. Went from 215 lb to 140 lb since August last year. Goal reached and now figuring out maintenance so I don’t drop further.

PlainAlder11archiveJun 2
↳ replying to @RustFenwick36

Whether I'm female or not probably doesn't make a difference. I've still got five or six pounds left before reaching my target, so I need to figure out what keeps my weight stable. At the moment I'm using eight milligrams but might try halving that to four. This will likely turn into some kind of test.

RustFenwick36archiveJun 2
↳ replying to @PlainAlder11

I'm a 56-year-old woman and the highest amount I took of that medication reached 4 milligrams split into two injections weekly, adding up to 8 milligrams overall. It felt ideal for me so I kept using it over many months. Recently I lowered it to 2.5 milligrams in each of two weekly shots and I'm curious to observe the results.

IronThistle67archiveJun 2

I always ensure my protein consumption stays high enough. This matters even more once past fifty.

PatientAlder89archiveJun 2

I notice a clear distinction between the pair that I've used. The first produced no unwanted reactions and the reduction happened quite gradually. The recent version produces a minor sensation at injection and performs more effectively. Appetite has vanished entirely even though I also use Tirz.

QuietAnchor73archiveJun 2
↳ replying to @RustFenwick36

Way to hit your target! A batch from last year caused some irritation, yet the problem got fixed and things have been fine afterward. I experienced some gas and minor skin irritation with one item. Right after raising the amount I took, most of that cleared up within about two weeks. I think those makers might have better than usual connections for supplies and equipment.

LevelThistle44archiveJun 3
↳ replying to @QuietAnchor73

It slipped my mind earlier, probably tied to the binding agent or filler inside. So far I've only used reta totaling roughly 263mg and still going. Haven't felt any stinging at all.

QuietAnchor73archiveJun 3
↳ replying to @LevelThistle44

Yeah that checks out and nothing serious happened since they fixed the issue for everyone affected while updating the formula. Their reliable expert handling of both the service and item sets the top benchmark in this uncertain scene. Wondering how the quality compares is the only thing that led me to sample the alternatives.

PlainAlder11archiveJun 3
↳ replying to @QuietAnchor73

I've accumulated quite a few of his items, specifically around eight kits. The person comes across as likable. Every one of his lab results checks out fine. Those compressed forms he makes are notable. For the following cycle, I'll blend a couple of R30 together. Seems like three portions remain. Eager to sample it soon.

SharpLantern93archiveJun 14
↳ replying to @QuietAnchor73

It seems like whenever I start feeling like I understand how this scene works, some comment pops up and shows how little I actually grasp. I figured this stuff was all basically identical, yet I'm still going through those pricey single units I got earlier. 😂🤔😭 Finding out higher grade options might exist feels pretty exciting, since accounts from others make me suspect I spent way too much on material that didn't meet good standards.

PatientAlder89archiveJun 15

The 2 I tried differed quite a bit.
