Summary

experiences switching from branded Mounjaro to compounded tirzepatide at the same low dose

Users report no noticeable difference in appetite control or weight loss after switching at the current dose. The main changes involve self-preparing doses from vials or cartridges and ensuring product quality and sterility. Several people confirm the medication itself performs the same once dosing math is handled correctly.

Hello folks, at the moment I'm taking Mounjaro in the 2.5 milligram amount and have completed my fifth weekly shot. I've been researching tirzepatide in 20 milligram form and hope to find out if people have switched over from the original to this type of vial while sticking to roughly the same 2.5 milligram amount each week. It would be great to learn about results like how effective it is, control over hunger, any negative reactions, reliability of measurements, and if everything felt similar in the end. Appreciate any personal accounts shared.

No difference, just switch at the dose you’re at.

Mounjaro is tirzepatide, so you would stick to 2.5 mg, 2 ml Bac Water, draw 25 units for 2.5 mg, one vial equals 8 injections.

All you have to worry about is whether the product you are buying is real, meaning the correct peptide and correct strength, and whether it is clean with no endotoxins. Other than that you’re golden.

I moved away from the standard .5 milligram wegovy shots and started getting semaglutide from unofficial sources in those larger 10 milligram containers instead. My results felt pretty much the same overall. First off, the actual drug worked identically for me. Hunger stayed in check and the pounds kept coming off, only now it was way cheaper. Second, because I'm still using a pen device with a refillable cartridge, giving myself the injection feels exactly the same. The main change comes from having to mix up the pen on my own and figure out the right amounts each time. As long as someone looks into it properly and verifies their calculations twice, I figure almost everyone ends up with correct dosing. And if you clean everything thoroughly on every single occasion, almost no one runs into any kind of infection either.

I appreciate the support, but my biggest challenge is locating the right kind of reusable pens for injections along with matching vials in Austria and the wider European area.

AmberMeadow63archiveApr 9

I'm wondering what blank containers fit inside my injector anyway.

Pens come loaded with cartridges holding three milliliters rather than any vial. I ordered cartridges online and loaded them into a pair of one model plus another single pen with zero problems so far. When filling peptides into a cartridge I run them through a filter too because the step adds almost no effort.

I think that's solid input too. One extra thing I'd mention is checking whether the cartridges come pre-sterilized from the seller or if sterilization is up to me. I got mine from what seemed like a reliable seller claiming to use steam for that process. The outside wrap has a marker that darkens if it's been treated, though I've heard those markers might not be trustworthy. I lack the equipment for proper sterilization at home anyway. My setup only has room for so much gear. In the end, these items don't cost much overall, which is why I focus on getting the best possible origins for them. It just doesn't make sense to run peptides through something that isn't clean.

Appreciate the input from everyone. The details shared have been quite useful. Right now the only carts I've come across are the V1 and V2 versions. Any ideas on which filter type might suit best?

Cartridges function identically across the different versions of that pen device. Standard three milliliter ones fit without issue rather than requiring anything specialized. A particular model from one company apparently needs custom components, although the details escape me now. Promotional materials insist on using only their branded cartridges, which turns out to be incorrect. Similar claims appeared in the manual for my paper towel holder, limiting it to their products, and that struck me as funny. For filtering I stick with point two two micrometer PES filters in thirteen millimeter size while pursuing good quality named products in the category. I skip the budget ones altogether. Several respected makers get recommended around here. Looking through the discussion boards proves useful.

It seems to me that cartridges come in a standard design. I haven't noticed any specific type markings on them. Correct me if this assumption is off.

These match the ones discussed before. The note comes from the manufacturer. It looks like an attempt to suggest that no other versions will work except their own three-milliliter insulin ones. Typical move from the company acting like they're shielding us from our choices. 😂

You guys are the best, researching it I really assumed the off-brand cartridges don’t fit those brand pens. Thanks.

CopperTimber97archiveJul 9

Many discussions online point out that non-branded pens employing cartridges tend to vary in how precisely they dispense amounts. I considered verifying this by filling one with water ahead of attempting to use it.

As soon as I end the Mounjaro pen I am in right now, I’ll switch to compounded tirzepatide. Let’s see. I am nervous.
