Summary

user experiences with SS-31 followed by MOTS-C for energy while already using reta and NAD

Users report trying a common cycle of 4 mg SS-31 daily for about 25 days then switching to MOTS-C at 5 mg several times a week. Some notice better energy, less fatigue and needing less sleep after the SS-31 phase, with effects carrying over; MOTS-C itself produces weaker or no additional gains for most. Injection site reactions occur with MOTS-C for several people but not everyone. Dosing volume, reconstitution amounts and whether to repeat the cycle later remain personal choices.

Hello everyone. Trying to decide what to do next. I just ordered reta to test it out and am also looking at adding mots-c for energy and extra weight loss while already on NAD. On injection day I got a strange burst of energy but then felt sick and weak after the second week. Maybe I increased the dose too fast. Today I feel awful and have a fever blister. Has anyone used SS-31 before trying mots-c and can share how they approached it? Open to other energy options too.

SteadyLantern77archiveSep 9, 2025

Been on reta for a few months and just finished week two of mots-c. Did four weeks of SS-31 first. Following the popular cycle that shows up in many places. Energy is up a bit, enough for better workouts and getting more done without feeling wiped out as quickly, but nothing dramatic like a stimulant. The schedule was SS-31 at 4 mg every day for four weeks, then mots-c 5 mg three times a week for four weeks, then 5 mg once a week for four weeks. Some add NAD twice weekly the whole time but I did not have any on hand.

CopperWillow72archiveSep 9, 2025

Thanks, I think I will give it a try. Bought single vials so I can test one cycle of each before committing to a larger kit. Planning to lower the NAD dose again and only titrate back up after another week.

QuietAlder20archiveSep 9, 2025

Used the same SS-31 to mots-c sequence. Energy picked up about three days into the SS-31 and I needed less sleep. Now about a month into the weekly mots-c phase but using 10 mg instead. Still wake up refreshed at 5 am after only six hours. When the mots-c runs out I will take four to six months off before repeating the pair. Single vials do not seem very cost effective since you go through two every five days on the SS-31 part.

Saw a video about that recently. Someone mentioned larger vials than the usual 10 mg size but they cost more, so a kit seems better.

WryCompass39archiveSep 9, 2025

Just started mots-c today using the same cycle the rest of you are following.

ClearWillow59archiveSep 11, 2025

How much bac water are you adding and does more help with sting or reactions? Amounts from half a milliliter up to three milliliters are mentioned so it is unclear. Thinking of one milliliter for a 10 mg vial and loading three vials into a pen cartridge. Also wondering about more frequent dosing schedules.

After twenty-five straight days at 4 mg of SS-31 I moved to mots-c. Five milligram doses Monday Wednesday Friday for four weeks, using two milliliters of bac per 10 mg vial so one hundred units delivers the five milligrams. After those four weeks switched to a single 10 mg dose once a week, reconstituting with one milliliter of bac.

That seems like a lot of liquid to inject. Does the larger volume help or is it required?

QuietAlder20archiveSep 12, 2025

Never gave the volume much thought. I tend to worry that concentrated injections might cause reactions. When I was on 15 mg of tirz from a compounding pharmacy it came to one hundred fifty units. Pinning four to six times a day so volume does not bother me much. Keep a good supply of 0.5 and 1 ml 31 gauge syringes. My daughter who is a doctor looked at my protocols and said the main issue with larger volume subq shots is a small welt that quickly spreads and gets absorbed.

BrightBeacon35archiveSep 12, 2025

Tried 10 mg of mots-c three times a week and did not see anything special. Skipped the SS-31 beforehand though. Maybe that step matters. Are the rest of you getting clear benefits or just modest changes that do not justify the cost and daily injections?

QuietAlder20archiveSep 12, 2025
↳ replying to @BrightBeacon35

Nothing much to report from the mots-c. The twenty-five days of SS-31 at 4 mg seemed to raise my energy level and that improvement is still there. Hoped the mots-c would restart weight loss progress but it has not. Probably will stop the mots-c once this kit is finished.

ClearWillow59archiveSep 12, 2025
↳ replying to @QuietAlder20

That is disappointing. I had heard good reports about it.

BrightSignal76archiveSep 18, 2025

Think I may be misreading the amounts needed for SS-31. Looking for kits with vials bigger than 10 mg and seeing prices around eighty-eight for a ten-vial kit. Rough math puts it near one hundred a month at the doses discussed. Seems expensive compared with reta. Wonder if the lower demand keeps supply limited. Is that monthly cost worth the quality-of-life change?

QuietAlder20archiveSep 18, 2025
↳ replying to @BrightSignal76

Always read that SS-31 is meant as a one-time cycle that you might repeat six months later. You are right that it works out to twenty-five days at 4 mg daily, using one 10 mg vial kit. Like most things here, whether it is worth it comes down to personal judgment.

One and done makes it easier to consider. Epithalon is also a twice-yearly type of protocol. Curious if fasting during or right after would help with autophagy.

Tried both with and without the SS-31 step and noticed nothing either way.

QuietAlder20archiveSep 19, 2025
↳ replying to @SharpHarbour48

Meh fits the mots-c results for me. Still plan to repeat the SS-31 portion in a few months because that part did give an energy boost.

BrightBeacon35archiveSep 19, 2025
↳ replying to @SharpHarbour48

Thanks for the info. Will skip both going forward.

Everyone responds differently. Do not let my results put you off.

BrightBeacon35archiveSep 19, 2025

Gave it a solid try with 10 mg three times a week until the whole 100 mg kit was gone. Plenty of other options to test. Part of the process is figuring out what actually works for me.

ClearWillow59archiveSep 19, 2025

Pinned the first 5 mg dose of mots-c and got an intense reaction within seconds, red welt forming right away. Used benadryl cream and a cold pack and it was gone after an hour, but it hurt. Maybe the adrenaline is why I feel wide awake now.

QuietAlder20archiveSep 20, 2025

That is rough. Still doing 5 mg three times a week with no reaction at all.

ClearWillow59archiveSep 20, 2025
↳ replying to @QuietAlder20

Thanks. Just wondering where you usually inject. This vial had the filter fail and I only have one left so skipped re-filtering. Might do it now though.

SharpHarbour48archiveSep 20, 2025
↳ replying to @ClearWillow59

Yes I get a reaction too. Just a red itchy area but it hangs around for a few days.

LevelSparrow37archiveSep 22, 2025
↳ replying to @ClearWillow59

Most people seem to feel at least some discomfort. Running 5 mg three times a week myself and get mild discomfort sometimes but not every time.

BrightSignal76archiveSep 22, 2025
↳ replying to @LevelSparrow37

Could you add a little extra bac water to the syringe to dilute it more?

ClearWillow59archiveSep 22, 2025
↳ replying to @LevelSparrow37

Thanks. Was worried something was off with my batch so this helps.

ClearWillow59archiveSep 22, 2025
↳ replying to @BrightSignal76

Good suggestion. Saw very different amounts recommended for bac water. Went with half a milliliter but might try adding more next time before drawing.

LevelSparrow37archiveSep 23, 2025
↳ replying to @BrightSignal76

I suppose that could work. I do something similar with my GHK-CU.

GreyThistle97archiveSep 24, 2025
↳ replying to @LevelSparrow37

Tangential question about GHK-cu. After reading around I have been adding fifty to sixty units of bac water to the syringe then the 5 mg of GHK-cu. Dropped to thirty units one day and got the bruising and soreness people mention. When drawing the reconstituted GHK-cu that has been sitting in the fridge almost a week it sometimes pulls a blue-purple blob that does not mix well. A flick or shake usually disperses it but today it stayed separate like a tiny lava lamp. Still got soreness even after adding extra bac water. Is the blob thing normal? Should ascorbic acid be added to the vial? Any tips appreciated.

The AI output claims the compound inside my container has started deteriorating so I shouldn't inject it. What a hassle.

AmberLantern21archiveSep 24, 2025
↳ replying to @GreyThistle97

Shake the vial to dissolve the GHK. You will not hurt it. These peptides are not that fragile.

GreyThistle97archiveSep 24, 2025
↳ replying to @AmberLantern21

Really appreciate that. Are you sure? A couple AI models said the congealing blobs mean the peptide is damaged and I should not inject it. Want your answer to be right. Just do not want to cause myself problems. Are we allowed to say that word here? Thanks either way.

AmberLantern21archiveSep 24, 2025
↳ replying to @GreyThistle97

AI just repeats what other people are saying. Am I sure? Yes. You are absolutely not going to cause yourself problems by shaking it. Pinky promise.

ClearWillow59archiveSep 24, 2025
↳ replying to @GreyThistle97

Maybe worth remembering you are about to inject something that came from overseas from people you do not know. No guarantee it will not cause issues. You could have a big allergic reaction. Try a tiny amount first. Shaking is the least of the worries. People who run testing labs all day have said shaking does not affect anything.

BrightSignal76archiveSep 25, 2025

That is higher than the protocol I am using. Reconstituted the 50 mg bottle with 2.5 ml of bac. Did you work up to 18 mg because lower amounts did not produce results? And that is once a day at night? From what I read it is morning for mitochondria repair and evening for nootropic effects like better brain health.

RustCompass57archiveSep 25, 2025
↳ replying to @BrightSignal76

It was the plan from the start. Trials used much higher doses. Aiming for mitochondrial repair and wanted to go as high as possible while keeping a reasonable number of doses. Settled on 18 mg because it is half a vial. Considered 36 mg but the cost per dose made me pause. Will do five vials at 18 mg EOD for ten doses then drop to 4.5 mg daily for the last three vials. Will start mots-c after finishing the ten higher doses. All dosing in the morning. Noticed a lot of energy even at the lower amounts, though it might be coincidence.

At first everything seemed fine with that particular container for a short while. Then after seeing those comments I tried another shot from it. The solution blended quickly with a couple of techniques yet right where the needle went in there was intense itching and swelling. It felt nothing like the usual discomfort those shots sometimes cause. This seemed like a clear problem reaction. I still have in the provider for solid reasons and I'm not trying to argue the point here. Looking back I remembered a couple of incidents that could have spoiled the material or allowed contaminants in. Going into those would drag on too long. In short I mixed a fresh one from the remaining supply and had no trouble at all. The first container started okay but spoiled later due to my own errors. Definitely picked up some insights from the experience.

GreyThistle97archiveSep 26, 2025
↳ replying to @ClearWillow59

Sure. Thanks for the reminder. This is not new though. The risk was already taken since I had been injecting without issue over a dozen times until a couple days ago. Sorted out what happened. Vial was damaged or contaminated or both, through mistakes I made. Started a new vial from the same kit and avoided the same errors. No issues now.

WrySparrow78archiveSep 26, 2025

Glad you got it sorted. Skin handles a lot but everything changes once you poke a hole in it.
