Adjusting Retatrutide Dosing Schedule for Appetite Control

6 replies5 peopleNov 13, 2025☆ Follow
Summary

Should I change my Retatrutide schedule from every 4 days to every 3 days to stop appetite and food noise from returning before the next dose?

Users report that Retatrutide often allows hunger to return unevenly before the next injection, unlike stronger GLP-1 drugs, and many split doses every 5 days instead. One person on 2 mg every 5 days notes faster fullness during meals, steady 0.8 kg weekly loss, and strength training without raising the dose. Others advise against increasing the total weekly amount if weight loss is already happening and mention trying cagrilintide for extra food control after switching from tirzepatide.

Whether switching to every-3-day lower-dose injections or adding another compound will best maintain control long term.

Nothing here is advice.

New to these GLP-1 meds and started Retatrutide six weeks back. Worked up to 1 mg every fourth day, so Monday then Friday. Held that for three weeks. The day before the next shot, appetite and food noise creep back in, making it tougher to stay on the diet. Don't want to raise the weekly total since it's giving steady one-pound drops, but thinking of switching to every third day and dropping each shot to 0.75 mg to keep the same weekly amount. Is it common for the effect to fade by day four, or is the once-weekly idea not holding up here?

Retatrutide does not hold hunger down as strongly as other GLP-1 drugs, so feeling hungry on it is pretty normal. Still, it seems to give better ability to decide whether to act on that hunger. The uneven weekly pattern bothered me too, so I switched to dosing every five days.

Is the amount you're using big enough?

Taking 2 mg every five days. Appetite has not disappeared but meals make me feel full much sooner. Doing strength work four times a week and losing weight slowly at 0.8 kg average per week. Hoping muscle is staying or even still building a bit. Would like to add cardio but work and study leave no energy. Down from 115 kg to 105 kg. Could probably go higher on the dose but see no need while the scale keeps moving.

My current routine involves two milligrams at intervals of five days. Hunger hasn't disappeared for me, yet I reach satisfaction with smaller portions. I lift weights on four occasions each week and have been gradually dropping weight at roughly 800 grams each week. I'm hoping my muscle isn't decreasing while perhaps building a bit more. Adding some cardio sessions sounds good, however my busy job and classes leave me without the stamina. My weight has gone down from 115 kilos to 105 kilos. Increasing the amount seems possible to me, yet I prefer not to while the weight is coming off.

My weight keeps dropping so I'm not going higher on the amount.

Maybe look into cagrilintide? Spent almost a year on tirz/Mounjaro at the top dose, lost the appetite drop, and stayed stuck thirty pounds from goal since April. Moved to Reta and am still working the dose up, pinning 3 mg every five days. Appetite control is not what it was early on with tirz, so tried cagrilintide and it has shifted how food feels to me. Research it.
