GHK-Cu / COPD Benefits

8 replies6 peopleSep 26, 2026☆ Follow
Summary

Does GHK-Cu offer benefits for COPD or damaged lung tissue?

One long-term COPD patient plans a year-long self-experiment with daily GHK-Cu injections after reading forum reports and papers on its gene effects and tissue repair potential. Others share their own experiences with the peptide for skin, inflammation, or possible lung issues, noting side effects like injection-site burning and varying dosages from 1.5 mg to over 6 mg. Suggestions for alternatives like Bronchogen or VIP appear alongside tips for reducing pain during administration.

Diagnosed with COPD twenty years back, I know there's no cure, just ways to try holding steady. After seeing mentions here and checking scientific papers, I came across claims that GHK-Cu might reset genes and directly aid damaged lung areas. One paper looked at how it counters muscle problems from smoking through a sirtuin pathway in COPD patients.

Appreciate the details. I figure COPD is likely in my future if not already here, so maybe the GHK-Cu I've been using could make a difference.

Look into Bronchogen too, sometimes called the lung version of BPC-157. A rat study on obstructive lung issues showed decent outcomes with it.

Forum accounts on GHK-Cu mostly mention just a burning feeling where it's injected. That led me to try it myself for science. A kit is due tomorrow and I'll start with 1.5 mg each day for twelve months, then check with a lung doctor for real changes. Hoping for some gains along the way, though better skin or nails would still be fine if that's all that happens. The upside seems worth the downside to me.

That burn can get intense enough to make someone stop. It comes from too much copper and can be eased by mixing in plain GHK to soak up the extra or running the mix through a 0.22 micron PES filter that grabs the copper while keeping things sterile. Good luck on your run, I've stuck with GHK for nearly two years straight.

What amount do you take each day and what changes have you seen?

There's a study linked here. I inject into the love handles, into fat. My dose is 2.5 mg GHK-Cu that also has 0.5 mg KPV and MT1 mixed in, total 10 units, five days on two off. I avoid going higher because of a dilated aortic root and I'm using it for healing. For skin or scars on the face I'd microneedle instead, same for hair. Planning a serum later when time allows. I make my own bac water and it hasn't been an issue so far. Right now I'm happy with what I have on hand.

With GHK-Cu more isn't automatically better. Reports point to 1-2 mg daily as the sweet spot. There was even a short human tolerability test earlier this year that topped out at 2 mg. Some suggest cycling like BPC-157 with eight to twelve weeks on and four off, but those were for skin and hair which aren't my focus. The order showed up so the first shot happens today.

I run the wolverine stack of BPC-157 and TB500 plus 3 mg GHK-Cu with extra bac water. Shots still sting and the ache stays around. It has helped my skin recover from long-term prednisone use, clearing up almost all the purple lesions and making the thin areas less fragile. At 62 I looked pretty rough before starting the copper peptides.
