GLP1 maintenance

Summary

What lower maintenance doses work after weight loss on tirzepatide or retatrutide?

Users report successful weight loss on tirzepatide at moderate doses followed by continued slow loss or stability at reduced doses such as 2 mg every five days or 2.5 mg weekly. One person notes tirzepatide supports lower dosing better than retatrutide due to pharmacokinetics and steady-state requirements. Exercise and other factors like TRT are mentioned as part of the routine. Maintenance periods range from months to nearly a year with ongoing adjustments for upcoming surgery recovery.

Anyone here drop weight on Retatutide or Tirzapzide starting at a moderate dose then switch to a lower amount just to hold steady? What amount, for how long, and how did it turn out?

Dropped 70 pounds in 7.5 months on Tirz without ever going above 5 mg weekly. Now at 2 mg every five days my weight keeps drifting down about half a pound a week. Hard training and TRT are part of it too.

Stayed on 2.5 tirz for about a year and lost 50 lbs. Started with the slow-and-steady approach and only bumped to 5 mg a couple times to break stalls. Maintenance has been almost a year still at 2.5, sometimes adding survo. Five days a week of cardio and leg work, limited by a torn rotator cuff and arthritis. Reverse shoulder replacement coming in January so the goal is to hold or drop a few more pounds before recovery slows me down.

Does this quantity manage to stop excessive food intake?

On a pharmacokinetic level Tirz works better if you want to stay on lower doses or micro-dose. You will still need to titrate up eventually. Retatrutide has a 144 hour half life so steady state takes 24-30 days of consistent weekly shots. Micro-dosing Reta prevents reaching that plateau, eliminates the thermogenic benefits, and can increase side effects.

I'm in the exact same situation with my left shoulder though the MRI shows a torn labrum plus nerve impingement instead of a cuff tear. The rest of the story matches too, including the downward dosing of tirz for maintenance because gym time will drop to mild cardio only after surgery. Hope insurance approves it soon. Good luck with yours.

Right, the pounds keep dropping at a steady pace for me with this quantity. Locating an option that suits my situation has proven essential.
