Summary

How sustainable is tirzepatide for long-term weight loss and health improvements after reaching goal weight?

One user reports losing 84 lbs over 10 months on tirzepatide, with major gains in blood pressure, resting heart rate, body composition, and clothing sizes. They stayed at 7.5 mg without further increases, plan a gradual taper after hitting target, and emphasize adding movement beyond the medication. Replies are uniformly congratulatory with one request for diet and exercise details, which were answered with a focus on protein-rich whole foods, cycling, walking, calisthenics, and yoga.

The medication has been remarkable. My blood pressure normalized around 115/75 from roughly 135/90. Snoring has stopped entirely. Resting heart rate sits in the high 40s. I've dropped this amount of weight multiple times in the past only to regain it. This time it feels like it can last. Roughly 10 lbs remain to reach my target while I also work on body recomposition. I thought about moving to reta but the reports of higher resting heart rate made me decide to stay on tirzepatide.

That's really good improvement. Would you like to tell about the way you work out and eat aside from the medication?

You've achieved quite the reduction after five months of effort. Respect for pulling that off.

My setup isn't anything special. I eat basic ingredients with a strong protein emphasis, along with plenty of zone cycling sessions mixed in with walks and bodyweight exercises. These days I'm shifting toward yoga to improve power and mobility. I've gone through a lot of material on metabolic issues and it seems dropping weight by itself won't resolve them so staying active matters.

Way to go there big fella. Since everything runs smoothly already no need to alter a thing. How much are you taking right now? Thinking about cutting back on the Tirz? Make sure to tell us how the upkeep turns out.

My current amount is seven point five milligrams since that level worked fine and there was no point going any higher. After I reach my goal I plan to hold steady for a few months then check whether to drop to five or spread the doses out to every ten days.

Ten months on that medication at age forty nine brought my scale reading from two hundred twenty seven pounds down to one hundred forty three for a total drop of eighty four. Dexa measurements showed body fat falling from roughly thirty seven percent to twelve. The calculated bmi moved from thirty five point six to twenty two point six while my waist went from forty inches to thirty. Jeans changed from size thirty eight to twenty eight and tops from extra large to small or extra small. Readings for blood pressure improved from one hundred fifty five over ninety to near one hundred ten over sixty five so the daily pill for that issue got stopped. Resting pulse dropped from eighty seven to around fifty and the dexa scan also gave a new biological age figure.
