Yeah, it might seem silly, but it does a good job protecting my vial from getting knocked around by the children.
3D printed fridge vial storage designs safety and family considerations
how to design and use 3D printed vial holders in household fridges while addressing safety, cost, and discretion
The thread focuses on creating separated, protective single-vial or multi-vial storage that keeps items away from food, with users trading ideas on robust designs, color coding to prevent mix-ups, and complementary tools like label printers. Participants weigh the trade-offs of bright versus discreet cases around children, the practicality of larger fridge-fitting versions, and whether to upload generalized designs publicly or share privately. Additional ideas cover desiccant containers, backup-power second fridges, and teaching kids modeling as a side benefit of the hobby.
What this discussion establishes- physical separation and single-vial protection are prioritized over multi-vial convenience
- bright colors risk attracting children while larger designs may not fit standard fridge space
- costs of accessories are balanced against long-term savings from custom prints
- color coding and labeling help avoid vial mix-ups
- private file sharing is offered as an alternative to public uploads for discretion
whether bright eye-catching cases or larger neutral multi-vial holders are preferable around households with kids
Still openbest approaches for scaling designs, maintaining discretion, and reliable color-based identification
Nothing here is advice.
These look awesome. I prefer dark shades that would blend in well with the condiment at the rear of the cooler. That bright hue could catch someone's eye though. I'm ordering a pair.
Bright shades appeal to me because they make spotting the thing simpler, which is why I chose the green option for this one.
Sure, it's great that you like how well it performs, yet the adorable factor still hits me and has me cracking up every time.
That's exactly how things ought to be. Without some nonsense, existence would feel empty.
My compact dark container for the usable sample has become disappointing.
My existing simple method feels outdated so I'm considering an improvement.
That tiny dark container seems pretty down and could use some uplifting.
yea, mine goes in here:
I love that!
Minecraft tirz- hahahaha
This minuscule safe is adorable! Totally smitten with it! π
Wouldn't another container be required just to hold this one inside?
That vivid green container looks adorable!! I adore it and would like one myself π
That little bottle keeps its distance from everything else stored inside the refrigerator.
I'm on the hunt for another refrigerator enclosure that works with printing. Those personalized printed objects really make me happy π yet the one I'm using now has grown too small haha
Seeing this discussion motivated me to create a holder for my bacteriostatic water vials. At the moment those small salt-filled ones remain in their original shipping carton, and I wanted a simple modeling task. I'm adjusting parameters on a syringe holder design sourced from a website, yet the base turned out odd, being insufficient in height with messy protrusions. I'm tweaking the options using an artificial intelligence tool but finding it annoying, resulting in one and a half poor attempts so far. Darn.
While doing that print run I also created a holder for the mixing liquid. I changed the design using a no-cost web program that was simple to get the hang of.
Thank you!!!!!! Great tip!
So three hundred fifty four is the amount I'm looking for now. Thanks a lot. I've got thirty one of the thirty ml size and ten of the ten ml size. π
Someone's showing off their enormous collection here. Yeah that pile looks gigantic for sure! Laughing hard. Only this one person can call out my beginner amounts and still get a grin from me. Smiling face. A lady might dream of reaching that point.
My partner whipped up some stickers along with caps for the vials plus a fresh box that keeps ten three milliliter ones cold. Now I'm after a version featuring a cute ribbon across the lid and my name carved right in. I spotted exactly what I had in mind. This hobby is a total blast.
I guess that lines up with my own idea, sort of.
Wow, these turned out fantastic. The personal details and lettering style really pop, especially in pink. Your partner definitely helps out with the printing side. I also enjoy the other holders he created. I gave designing my own cartridge covers a shot because the ready-made versions felt too thin and used a flexible material setting while I'm still figuring out this filament. The whole thing dragged on but the results please me. That hint from another user suggests signing up for the modeling site could speed things up later on.
These turned out fantastic! Never crossed my mind to try caps on the pen vials. Looking forward to checking whatever else comes off the printer next. Got lucky during the big sale by sticking around in that huge crowd. πππ
This is fantastic and I'm spreading it around because of how much I enjoy it.
That's attractive. It inspires me to purchase a three dimensional printer at this point. Lately I have stored my own items in a similar type of holder.
This object you built draws kids like nothing else. They would leave it alone if kept in a vitamins bottle. I have a jar labeled for a health product that's colored dark brown. It draws no notice whatsoever.
I'd probably enlarge its overall size a little. I could also add some cushioning around the middle to help protect against shocks.
I go with kit boxes and keep them in the lowest fridge area that never gets opened.
Yeah, totally. Those two talked me into getting a label printer, and now I figure I probably need a 3D printer for making my own vial holders. Before this, cheap containers from online shops worked okay.

I mean other than the fact that Iβm a certain brand galβ¦yeah. We did. High five to that person! PEER PRESSURE!!!
For those who enjoy keeping areas tidy beyond basic storage bins, the objects possible to produce with a 3D printer seem endless. Exploring designs others have shared reveals how many items can improve daily routines and layouts. My boyfriend has a kid who enjoys foam dart blasters along with remote vehicles, so his workshop features wall mounts he made for those toys plus custom spots for wrenches, hose attachments, toolbox dividers, and power tool racks. He also created slots for blades, cards, stands that let voice assistants sit right in outlets without using table room, plus containers for wipes, pads, and watch straps. The possibilities never seem to stop, and nearly any room, shed, or outdoor spot can gain something useful this way.
Yeah I feel exactly the same. Juggling pep studies with three dimensional printing leaves zero chance for heading outdoors these days.
The real issue for me is how it might get damaged from rough handling rather than anyone trying to find it.
The main reason I print cases on my machine is to keep the peppers physically apart from broccoli and potatoes. I really hate having to wipe dirt or something messier off the lid of a container.
I've got a couple and create various items around my home plus garage space while showing my children three D design along with running these units.
Any money saved on those unofficial meds tends to vanish once we start getting all the extras that go with them! π€£
Let me see if I can upload the model to a design site.
I want holders that can store collections of ten vials each. It's adorable and I'm really fond of the notion.
I'm uncertain whether this item could actually go inside the refrigerator.
There seem to be fifteen containers here. My partner would never approve. I've never kept more than four of the mixed version in cold storage at once. For that reason I'm passing on this, though I do appreciate the gesture. π
At the moment I plan to build a larger version meant to contain just a single vial.
Ha ha ha! So the little bottle you've got ends up crammed tight rather than staying separated at all, exactly like the full lockdown mode back in March and April 2020.
