MOTS-c Injection Site Reactions After Prolonged Use

7 replies5 peopleSep 24, 2026☆ Follow
Summary

Why am I suddenly getting welts and itching from MOTS-c injections after months of no issues?

Several users report developing injection site reactions to MOTS-c after initial tolerance, with welts and itching appearing after weeks or months. Some link this to the peptide's bacterial-like mitochondrial origins triggering a delayed immune response. Suggestions include deeper injections with shorter needles or adding compounds like KPV, though reactions can still occur and some choose to stop. Experiences vary, with some never having problems until suddenly they do.

Whether reactions are inevitable for nearly everyone or only affect a subset who eventually lose tolerance.

How close together glutathione or KPV should be injected relative to MOTS-c, or if they reliably prevent reactions.

Nothing here is advice.

The last three shots of MOTS-c left a small welt that stuck around for a few days plus some itching right at the spot. I had been using it daily for roughly two months without any problems until now. Anyone else run into this? Still taking Klow and Lipo-c at the same time.

With reactions like these, plenty of people handle MOTS-c fine for a while and then suddenly stop tolerating it.

For both MOTS-c and GHK-Cu I stick with half-inch needles and press them in deep while dimpling the skin to get better depth. Seems to reduce issues for me.

Pretty much everyone I know, myself included, ends up with some kind of injection site reaction to MOTS-c. It is common for it to show up later once the immune system has had time to notice the peptide. Being a mitochondrial fragment might make it more likely to set off that response since mitochondria share traits with bacteria.

Some mention KPV as a possible way to calm things down. I have wondered if glutathione shots might do something similar though probably weaker, and I am unsure how far apart the two injections need to be. Glutathione can trigger its own reactions anyway. On a side note, what do people usually do with peptides they no longer want? I have DSIP that keeps me awake instead of helping sleep and I have only gone through one and a half vials so far.

I picked up some MOTS-c during a weak moment but have not started it. Planning to hold off until I have an epinephrine auto-injector on hand just in case.

A few other ideas for handling site reactions include rotating spots carefully and watching for early signs before they get worse.

I have used MOTS-c for about a month and the last few shots produced welts that got bigger each time and lasted longer. The latest one was pretty big and took a full week to fade. I am probably going to stop using it.
