Summary

Do mitochondrial support peptides deliver noticeable energy endurance or cognitive benefits and how should they be timed dosed and combined

Forum users report mixed personal outcomes when using SS-31 MOTS-c NAD+ NR/NMN and related compounds often stacked with GLP-1 agonists. Some describe improved daily energy workout capacity and mental clarity at higher doses while others observe little beyond placebo and highlight the absence of established dosing data. Morning administration is preferred by many to limit sleep disruption yet Tesa/Ipa combinations produce conflicting reports of night wakings or fluid retention. Storage handling injection comfort and the value of objective tracking versus promoter claims are also discussed.

Next week I finish a cycle of two peptides that has gone well for me. After that I want to focus on fixing up my mitochondria since I am in my early 60s and assume they are not in great shape. I exercise daily with swimming, hiking and weights and feel physically strong right now while on maintenance tirzepatide. I already have mots-c and ss31 on order along with 5-amino 1mq if it turns out useful, and I learned I should begin with nad+ so I will get that too. My main questions are how to tell if mitochondria actually need work, what improvements to expect once they are optimized, whether swim times or strength will increase, and whether the three items plus nad+ are enough. I would also like to know what a typical cycle looks like and hear about real experiences.

BrightBeacon35archiveOct 29, 2025

The person mentioned knows the topic, yet I always pick up a pushy sales feeling from the presentation. That does not mean the information is worthless, and I have picked up a few useful points from listening before.

BlueBeacon13archiveOct 29, 2025

Once my ss-31 and nad+ arrive I plan to test the protocol on myself first before using it for my mom.

SteadyQuill55archiveOct 29, 2025

I began the same protocol last week. Most of me suspects it is probably not going to do much and until recently all I knew about mitochondria was the basic description, but the idea looked interesting and I was bored. I am still only on the nad+ portion. I tried 25 mg first, then 50 mg, checking for side effects, and had none. Last night I went to the full 100 mg. I noticed a clear difference that time and felt wide awake for the first time in weeks, then took a nice three-mile walk. It is probably just placebo, so from now on I will follow the directions exactly.

KeenTimber66archiveOct 29, 2025

I am planning a modified version of the cycle using the vials I already have on hand: ss-31 at 10 mg, mots-c at 10 mg, and nad+ at 500 mg. I am short on ss-31 and may need another kit. I will begin early next year. At 45 I could use the mitochondrial support and an energy lift, especially since reta and the calorie deficit are affecting me even though trt helps overall. I will follow the thread for reports from others who have tried something similar. The schedule I have in mind is ss-31 3.57 mg daily, mots-c 3.33 mg or 5 mg on Monday Wednesday Friday, and a gradual nad+ ramp over several weeks up to 200 mg twice weekly.

AmberMarble84archiveOct 29, 2025

The glucagon action from reta is said to stimulate new mitochondria formation and improve performance, though I do not recall the exact source.

AmberMarble84archiveOct 29, 2025

The reference I found explains that glucagon activates pathways such as PGC-1α which regulates creation of new mitochondria, leading to higher oxidative capacity, better fat burning and thermogenesis.

I tried some ss-31 and mots-c and noticed a slight energy lift from the mots-c. I take a nad precursor capsule every day but cannot tell any difference. The practical way to check would be finding a lab that offers a mitochondria function test and comparing results before and after a course.

I listen to several sources because in general you have to gather information from different places and form your own view. What is unhelpful is that most channels avoid giving concrete details, and when someone does share something useful they often disappear.

I am the same age. I am on week four of the protocol that was posted and I ran a cycle earlier this year. Mitochondria decline with age so a cycle is likely to help, though noticeable effects are not guaranteed. Ss-31 gives me a clear increase in alertness. Nad+ produces only an initial rush when dosing. I was not training during the mots-c portion so I could not check for better endurance that others have reported. Not everyone feels a physical response from each item, yet benefit may still occur. Older users tend to notice more. This time I will time the mots-c doses with my workouts to test for performance gains.

BrightBeacon35archiveOct 29, 2025

This thread is turning out well. I was trying to stay diplomatic earlier and I like the direction it is taking. Another presenter in the same space also comes across poorly to me.

CopperWillow54archiveOct 29, 2025

Does anyone have experience or confidence in nad+ patches?

QuietCinder19archiveOct 29, 2025
↳ replying to @CopperWillow54

They do work, but the results are noticeably weaker than injections.

SharpHarbour71archiveOct 29, 2025

What leads you to that conclusion?

SlowKettle22archiveOct 29, 2025
↳ replying to @SharpHarbour71

There is little solid research backing the claims. Most of what is discussed comes from animal mechanistic studies or anecdotes, both of which are easy to over-interpret, especially when effects are subjective. The people promoting these items also have clear financial reasons to emphasize benefits while downplaying risks or weak evidence.

SharpHarbour71archiveOct 29, 2025
↳ replying to @SlowKettle22

That assessment is mostly fair. Still, it does not make the doctor a complete fraud. The clinical experience is substantial and the knowledge of peptides exceeds what most here possess. There are occasional contradictions and an obvious business angle, yet useful information remains. I would not write the whole body of knowledge off as worthless.

ClearWillow59archiveOct 29, 2025

I began by following the basic guide during my micro-dosing phase and also watched several physicians discuss the approach, which has worked well for me at low doses. Some statements from the two main voices have raised concerns though. One explains topics clearly in videos, which is helpful, while the other seems less grounded. Both have made comments that come across as dismissive toward people who are not in top physical shape.

KeenLantern39archiveOct 30, 2025

One of the two is mainly a marketer with a medical degree rather than a researcher publishing data, so the material leans heavily on hype. The other is a real physician but the peptide assertions often outpace available evidence. Credentials alone do not convert speculation into fact. The choice comes down to whether you prefer curiosity-driven claims or sticking with what is actually proven. I prefer to follow the science where possible and always ask who is making the claim and how they know it. Plenty of people profit from hope and bias, and chasing optimization when no clear problem exists often leads to someone selling you a solution. Uncertainty plus fear of missing out is a risky starting point.

Well put. I tend to agree with another writer who said he can resist anything except temptation.

Make no mistake, I am in the middle of a midlife adjustment and feeling slightly out of sorts. It is low stakes overall. I have a good life, no major regrets about what is changing, yet the intensity of emotions is higher and I am trying to reconcile how I look with how I feel. That has led me to try random peptides aimed at mitochondrial optimization even though I do not truly believe it is required. It is entertaining for now. I will finish this round and then return to my usual items only.

SlowLantern99archiveOct 30, 2025

The individual in question always frames statements to promote sales, highlighting small positive findings while ignoring or minimizing negative data. Once profit became the priority the medical credential mainly served to lend credibility to whatever was being sold that day rather than to patient care.

PatientHarbour41archiveOct 30, 2025

It is difficult to trust someone whose main goal appears to be selling products. A family member has known one of the promoters for decades and praises the business success yet criticizes peptide use and never acknowledges visible changes after major weight loss.

KeenLantern39archiveOct 30, 2025

A physician assistant I know who works in surgery has repeatedly seen specialists assume expertise outside their field and make unsupported claims during procedures. Expertise in one area does not automatically extend to others. The same principle applies to anyone whose training is unrelated to the topic at hand.

KeenLantern39archiveOct 30, 2025

Sorry for taking the thread off topic.

People who knew the doctor during medical school described the same unreliable behavior then as now.

No problem, I am enjoying the back and forth along with the useful points that come up.

RustQuill56archiveOct 30, 2025

Mots-c makes me feel good, whether it is actually repairing mitochondria or something else. My mother felt unwell for two weeks on it before improving, which some descriptions link to a metabolic adjustment period. At 35 I may already be in decent metabolic condition. The main drawback is having to reconstitute fresh vials frequently when protocols call for higher single doses, and larger vial sizes are uncommon.

One group claims to prefer patches over other delivery methods, though that opinion came while hosting a guest who sells them. Another coach who often discusses performance strongly advises against nad+ infusions because they could over-stimulate cancer or senescent cells.

QuietCinder19archiveOct 31, 2025

Are you happy with the quality?

PatientBeacon95archiveNov 1, 2025
↳ replying to @QuietCinder19

I’ve never taken it before and only started a couple weeks ago. I have several items from the same place and haven’t felt let down, except maybe one that mixed strangely but still turned clear. They might cost more yet they provide solid COAs, and I’m okay skipping my own testing or relying on group results I can’t fully trust. One option was a little pricier but came in bigger vials than the other source I compared.

Your progress really motivates me since you've come so much farther along than where I stand now.

PatientLantern66archiveNov 2, 2025

NR or NMN is cheap if you know where to find them and are precursors to NAD, no need to inject, just pills. On them currently before my SS-31 arrives, which I plan to run a good month or two then take time off. Don’t feel the need for MOTS-C and will take NR indefinitely.

KeenTimber66archiveNov 2, 2025

Curious how running that peptide stack turned out. Does it serve as a workable substitute for growth hormone or does it make more sense to just go with the actual version? I'm planning to stick with minimal therapeutic amounts around two or three units.

Swimmer, people in their sixties might benefit from extra mitochondrial support. Being 69, I found Mots-NAD+ and SS-31 produced visible gains in my energy and exercise results. The problem remains the absence of firm studies on how much to take with these peptides. Personal testing was necessary to determine suitable quantities for myself. Being costly, and with suggestions to use tiny amounts, that method yielded no effects for me. What succeeded was SS-31 at ten milligrams every day over twenty days. After, I did Mots-C daily at ten milligrams plus NAD+ at one hundred milligrams three times each week. Additionally 5-Amino 1MQ went into the mix at fifty milligrams three times daily. Doses were raised step by step to the point where changes showed up, leading to these amounts. The combination of Mots-C and NAD+ continued for thirty days and I have done the whole thing two more times. Individuals vary so each must customize their own process to achieve wanted effects. Report back on experiences once a cycle finishes to inform others. Best wishes.

It's clear that some people are twisting research results about this drug. The medication isn't meant to eliminate the virus entirely but rather to reduce subsequent issues including nerve recovery. This treatment targets residents of less developed regions. Anyone residing in prosperous areas with modern medical options can afford the latest therapies. Medical professionals ought to advocate for those advanced options given their substantial yearly earnings and solid insurance plans.

I haven't experimented with pure growth hormone directly. The combination of certain secretagogues impressed me greatly with how effectively they targeted belly fat and preserved muscle during my weight reduction using the other medication. Following a fifty pound drop first with one glp1 then the next, my lean tissue and power had declined. Once I added the peptides, my shoulder discomfort from swimming dropped dramatically in about four weeks, allowing me to resume weight training after a long break. My power and size grew rapidly, quicker than in the past. Several people inquired whether I was using steroids or testosterone, though I've never done so. With the extra fat gone, the muscle outline became quite visible. Sadly, my swimming performance didn't improve at all. I expected some gain there. The weight reduction alone sped up my times in the pool, but the added substances brought no further benefit. The downsides for me included faster pulse and fluid buildup. Each week I'd put on roughly eight pounds of water then shed it rapidly during the two rest days by urinating a lot. My heart rate would rise by five to ten beats soon after dosing. I used two to four milligrams along with one hundred micrograms five days running after exercise or activity, followed by two days rest. I hope the improvements stick around once I discontinue the peptides. I'm looking forward to the upcoming studies on cellular energy production.

SteadyAlder49archiveNov 5, 2025

My supplies for the cell energy study are still on the way. Earlier I finished a month-long run with one specific peptide and everything felt fantastic. Two milligrams every other day left me with plenty of stamina and drive. I have no idea how poor my cell condition might be, yet at forty-one after years of self-neglect I figure it is fairly poor. Getting older feels tough once you spent so long acting like you wanted an early end. I am eager to test this method because I want to stabilize my basic body chemistry before looking into other topics such as additional workout-related substances.

SteadyQuill55archiveNov 5, 2025

Nothing stood out to me while increasing the first compound. I began with a smaller amount and raised it during week two instead of holding off. On a whim I started the next one ahead of schedule. I plan to finish the entire six weeks of it without beginning the last one sooner. Tiredness has dropped in a clear way, yet I won't judge anything for at least another couple of weeks since I pick up on suggestion effects so easily.

QuietAlder25archiveNov 5, 2025

My order of that supplement finally arrived. The containers came in a bigger size and with a brownish tint. The other compound I requested weeks back hasn't shown up yet. Since I placed the request quite some time ago, arrival should happen shortly. Waiting any longer feels impossible. Still feeling uneasy trying this fresh peptide. Should something go wrong, my flatmate would discover the situation, preventing my pets from needing to consume parts of my dead body for food. Appreciate the person who shared that idea.

KeenPebble65archiveNov 5, 2025

Last Monday evening marked my initial try with a tiny amount of NAD+. The spot where I injected didn't cause any real issues, though I struggled a little to drift off at night. Is it common for folks to do these in the morning instead? I've got some SS31 coming in soon too, and I'm curious about the ideal hour for taking peptides like these that target mitochondria.

What really gets to me is how these animals rely on their mechanical food provider that's been around forever, with me adding more only every so often. If they decided to munch on my features it would purely be from wanting to do so.

For several years I've used Epitalon because it lengthens how often normal cells can copy themselves. Humanin has helped me cut back free radical damage, support energy production inside cells, and handle sugar levels better during that time. This targets aging right at the cellular scale. I started Sema and Reta since they combine with Humanin to counter brain decline and metabolic shifts through separate routes, with one working inside cell power plants and the other via gut hormone signals across the body. Those two don't touch chromosome ends directly, yet they ease body strain from weak insulin response and persistent swelling, which helps keep the chromosome ends working longer. I once relied on SS31 and Mots-c to ease swelling too, but with all the other overlapping compounds in my routine now I don't depend on those two nearly as much.

BrightBeacon35archiveNov 6, 2025

A delivery of NAD+ should reach me shortly. This marks my initial attempt with the substance and I feel eager to begin the injections. I intend to open at a bigger amount like fifty or one hundred milligrams three times each week.

SharpLedger78archiveNov 6, 2025

About half a year back I tried one compound followed by another and noticed a modest lift in stamina the first was aimed at restoring cellular power plants these days I take a few different ones three or four times weekly and moving through the hours feels straightforward lately entering that stage my stamina had dropped sharply and nightly rest stayed under six hours without my choosing I used to crave a daytime break yet job tasks always blocked it with the present routine I no longer sense constant strain I get weary but not wiped out I keep adjusting rest little by little incidentally during one earlier cycle my rest turned out excellent when taken before lying down also using another medication

These compounds seem available from lots of retailers these days. I ordered my supply from a pair of web shops. My current routine involves taking between two and four grams each day during the first month and a half, dropping down to one gram daily after that period. So far I've felt some extra pep in my step, even if it's fairly mild.

Someone online mentioned this substance causes a burning sensation. I obtained a stabilized version and confirmed that reaction myself. Right after the opening injection I thought wow this is intense. Dosing has been twenty milligrams three times each week. I acquired it hoping to ease the lack of pleasure tied to another compound. Energy feels better and my jokes land more often now. That flat feeling hasn't eased much though. Could be tied to serotonin instead. What a shame. The NAD plus also brings back those sudden warmth spells for me. Not sure how to interpret that.
