I've always been in tune with how my body reacts. Tirzepatide hasn't given me much in the way of negative effects at all. My first dose was December twelfth, and I continued with two point five milligrams twice each week until switching over. The transition to retatrutide began January tenth, after my final standard tirzepatide injection on the eighth. During that period I administered many tiny amounts of the new compound while monitoring reactions closely. In total I've had seventeen injections of retatrutide between one and four milligrams, adding up to forty four milligrams altogether. Currently I'm consistent with four milligrams twice weekly. A couple of tirzepatide shots on the fourteenth and twenty first helped with hunger signals in between. Some increased sensitivity to cold occurred but it stayed mild throughout, and nothing else problematic showed up.

WarmSparrow85archiveFeb 15

I'm about to finish my eighth week with this treatment. The opening month used 2mg doses, then the next four weeks shifted to 4mg. Appetite has crept up over the past couple of weeks while my body adapts. My partner followed the exact same schedule and reports matching effects, so I'm considering raising both our doses to 6mg starting week nine to test how it goes.

I really value the details you shared with me.

It's fascinating how actual amounts individuals consume vary. I didn't expect noticeable effects under one milligram, perhaps tied to body mass index? To respond, my starting body mass index was thirty three point four, equaling two hundred seventy four point four pounds. I'd never experimented with a GLP one agonist before because of expense. I began directly with retatrutide at two point five milligrams weekly, considering my size and other elements. Entering the fifth week now, I've raised the amount to four milligrams. My present body mass index stands at thirty point nine, two hundred fifty three point eight pounds, which means I've shed twenty point six pounds. Truly, for the initial occasion ever, I sense mastery over my consumption patterns. Eliminating the constant thoughts about food has proven an almost profound personal transformation. This journey commenced following a thorough discussion with my fresh physician assistant. They recommended trying tirzepatide and inquired whether I could manage the weekly expense from the manufacturer. Coverage was rejected by my plan, and my doctor stated they won't authorize any non approved versions. I explored further options. Both my spouse and I carry extra weight. We discussed the potential downsides against the upsides seriously. I acquired retatrutide since it seemed the most effective option. The progress isn't monitored every day due to variations but appears steady each week. I hold no remorse.

I've been using reta for five months now. After dropping more than seventy pounds with tirz across about a year I hit an extended plateau. I raised the amount gradually. The scale only started moving once I hit six milligrams though my body was already looking different. So far this has taken off twenty seven pounds and I still want to drop another thirty. The tirz period taught me to hold the dose steady while progress holds especially with plenty left to go and I skipped that step before by following the suggested increases. I'm repeating that slower method here and expect to stay on something similar indefinitely or switch to tirz upkeep later if I reach my goal. At the moment I'm taking seven milligrams weekly.

RustKettle37archiveFeb 15

I began with a low amount split across two doses each week over a short period just to test my tolerance. Nothing at all showed up. After that I tried a single weekly dose at double the starting level. The opening week brought some benefits plus tolerable drawbacks but the weeks after that left me with only the drawbacks and none of the benefits. So this week I'm trying a step higher and plan to hold there for several weeks ahead. I don't need to shed much weight and I exercise often. From what I see the benefits come to about half a pound lost weekly plus reduced interest in sweets while the drawbacks include acid burps and low to medium tiredness.

People vary a lot in how they react. A few strong reactors shed a ton even with smaller amounts than the studies tested and can drop thirty to forty percent off their initial mass while some others find it hard to reach even fifteen percent when using the highest amount.

I'm currently using Tirz, yet Reta really comes across as a step forward among these compounds. With Tirz, roughly two weeks passed before my appetite faded.

I've reached week five already. Before every shot I step on the scale first. Started out at one hundred forty point nine kilos with a two milligram dose in the initial week. Next week stayed at two milligrams and dropped to one hundred thirty seven point two. Then bumped to two point five and saw one hundred thirty six point one. Kept that dose and got down to one hundred thirty four. Now at three milligrams this week and sitting at one hundred thirty point five. So far shed about ten point five kilos in the first four weeks.

BlueCinder56archiveFeb 16

Began at a low dose of one milligram and raised it more rapidly than intended. Right now I'm on two point five milligrams though I plan to reduce it again to somewhere between one point five and two. There are no adverse reactions but I really dislike the total absence of hunger which leaves me pushing myself to eat anyway. Reaching my daily protein target feels much harder now since even a small serving satisfies me completely unlike before this medication when the same amount would have been barely noticeable.

GreenSignal49archiveFeb 16

My use of Reta began on the fourth of October in 2025, and these days I'm taking six milligrams. So far I've shed sixty three pounds and everything feels good at this level. I always go for the smallest amount that still works and don't intend to raise it before I stop seeing results.

PlainAlder11archiveFeb 16

Began using a two milligram dose across four weeks. Friday will mark the third time injecting at the four milligram level. My weight started near two hundred fifteen pounds and now sits at one hundred ninety nine, which means sixteen pounds have come off.

RustKettle37archiveFeb 17

I ramped up the amount way too quickly. That opening one point five milligram amount from yesterday morning slammed into me tonight exactly like a nasty stomach bug. Now I'm dropping back to one milligram twice each week. It still surprises me that the schedule after official clearance begins everyone at two milligrams.

ClearMeadow84archiveFeb 17

My time with Reta stretches back five months already. These days the weekly injections total nine milligrams and I've kept that amount steady through the last couple of weeks.

Anyone else spot a contrast between taking under four milligrams and going higher when that added glucagon effect supposedly starts?

PatientWillow72archiveFeb 17

My current weekly amount is 10 milligrams, and I'm only now noticing some hunger reduction from this compound. It doesn't curb my appetite nearly as well as the earlier version did. I do get fewer problems with bowel issues or queasiness than I did previously. I intend to go up to 12 milligrams at most, yet I doubt that step will improve results by much.

Yes. Fatigue was already there before the increase. I expected it might get worse but the vomiting and new GI problems are unexpected.

AmberWillow79archiveFeb 17

Moved straight from 7.5 mg Tirz over to 2 mg of Reta twice a week. Three weeks in and appetite control is solid with zero sides, so I'm holding here as long as it works. Minimum effective dose for as long as possible is the approach I like.

KeenFenwick47archiveFeb 17

Began switching over last week after being on Tirz since January. Even at this low amount, 0.35 mg every other day, I can already tell Tirz felt different. Fatigue and low mood hit at first but those have eased now.

ClearKettle41archiveFeb 17

Pushed from 1 mg up to 6 mg inside roughly a month. Settled at 5 mg since late last year after meat started tasting off at 6 mg. Bumped back to 6 mg last week and only minor skin changes, nothing else. Started before the holidays and weight has come down steadily since December, from 317 lb down to 276 lb as of last week.

Mind if I ask whether you track your heart rate?

LevelThistle44archiveFeb 17
↳ replying to @KeenFenwick47

I do track it. Pulled an earlier post from this month where I thought I'd stabilize around 7 mg a week but kept going. Now at 9 mg for the past week and expect to settle somewhere between 8-10 mg weekly. The pictures are in that older post if you want to look back.

AmberWillow76archiveFeb 17

Using 2 mg every three and a half days to keep sides down, then plan to move to the full 4 mg every five or six days. Dropped 20 lb on Tirz before switching to Reta about eight weeks ago with slow half-milligram steps each week. A couple more pounds off since then. Staying at 4 mg for the next few weeks to see how it goes before changing anything.

CopperMeadow83archiveFeb 17

Why stick with the lowest effective dose instead of pushing straight to the 12 mg trial maximum? Is it mainly to limit sides or to cut costs? The money difference seems small at lower amounts.

RustMarble78archiveFeb 17
↳ replying to @RustTimber30 (opening post)

Began at 2 mg weekly, moved up after two weeks to 4 mg weekly and will hold there for a while. Started at 246 lb and five weeks later I'm at 228 lb. Skin sensitivity is noticeable but otherwise everything feels good.

WarmSparrow10archiveFeb 17
↳ replying to @CopperMeadow83

Money is one reason for me. Rushing to the top dose also risks missing some fat loss, possibly losing muscle, and dropping weight faster than skin can keep up with.

ClearKettle41archiveFeb 18
↳ replying to @KeenFenwick47

Yes I track it. Resting heart rate was in the low 80s early last year. After starting diet, gym, walking and TRT in July it dropped below 80 by August, then climbed back to the low 80s by October. Started Reta end of October, saw another small rise peaking in the high 80s mid-December, but since then it's been trending down again and I'm back in the low 80s with the line still falling. The bump from Reta looks like it was temporary.

KeenBramble97archiveFeb 18
↳ replying to @CopperMeadow83

Once you're at the maximum you're stuck if tolerance appears. At a lower dose you still have room to go up. At the top you can only stack or go over the limit. Better not to rush higher than needed.

Same path exactly and the skin sensitivity is there too. Mainly legs and stomach for me.

RustMarble78archiveFeb 18
↳ replying to @RustTimber30

It's really annoying. Mine runs from head to ankles. Still, overall I'm happy with how it's going.

AmberWillow79archiveFeb 18

Main side after three weeks at 4 mg split is a mild rise in heart rate. Hoping it settles since I have no plans to stop Reta. Diet is cleaner and the mental food cravings are gone.

QuietAnchor73archiveFeb 18

What does the skin sensitivity feel like exactly, pain, itch, burning? Is it in one spot or all over? Any rash or raised skin?

AmberWillow76archiveFeb 18
↳ replying to @WarmQuill73

I moved up to 4 mg half a milligram at a time to get there quicker while skipping the GI sides I had on Tirz. A direct jump from 2 mg to 4 mg can trigger sides for me, though maybe not for you. The trials started people at 2 mg specifically to manage sides.

LevelThistle44archiveFeb 18
↳ replying to @QuietAnchor73

General question or aimed at someone? It can be local or widespread and is often described as a sunburn feeling without any visible change.

WarmSparrow10archiveFeb 18
↳ replying to @QuietAnchor73

Got it when I went from 0.5 to 0.75 mg. It faded but felt like a quick burning tingle while it lasted.

LevelSignal13archiveFeb 18

Reached 8 mg this week and the skin sensitivity showed up as a light tingling, nothing painful, just more aware of fabric texture than usual. Still easy to handle. Dose increases were fairly slow at first but once I hit 3-4 mg I jumped more directly to 8 mg since sides have been minimal. Body composition changes have been clearer than scale weight so far. After big losses on semaglutide earlier, higher amounts seem needed now to keep progress moving.

Tried describing it earlier but it's tricky. No rash or raised skin, just sensitive when clothes rub, sometimes prickly or like pins and needles without the full feeling.

GreenBeacon31archiveFeb 19

Week five now, took 3 mg today on a six-day schedule. Down 13 lb so far.

PlainAlder11archiveFeb 19

Two weeks at 4 mg with two more to go before deciding whether to jump to 8 mg or hold longer. Losing about 3 lb a week. Started at 2 mg. Curious to see your results.

Feels a lot like sunburn for me. Clothes rub a bit uncomfortably on the sensitive spots. Never painful, just noticeable and mildly bothersome at most.

SlowAlder76archiveFeb 19

Hello from the UK. Started at 2 mg today, fingers crossed. Came off Mounjaro after reaching 15 mg with the last shot more than a month ago. Curious how this will feel. Want to test tolerance before committing to anything larger, since I might switch back to Tirz.

AmberBeacon59archiveFeb 19

Just moved up to 2 mg this morning after two weeks at 1 mg. Been on Ozempic since February 2024 and took the final shot last week.

I like staying at the lowest effective dose until it stops working, then move up.

SlowAlder76archiveFeb 20

Have to admit I'm not feeling anything from yesterday's 2 mg dose.

RustTimber30archiveFeb 21

I didn't notice effects until reaching 4 mg.

CopperSignal27archiveFeb 21

Thread would be clearer if everyone listed start weight, goal weight and current weight. Dose effects depend a lot on how much weight is left to lose. I was already on 15 mg tirzepatide maintaining a 54 % loss. Saw data showing 9 % loss from just 1 mg reta over a year, which seemed strong at low doses, so I added reta on top and am now at 5 mg. That explains the wide dose range people report.
