Weird Tesa reaction

Over time the immune system can start treating Tesa as foreign. Clinical trials showed antibody development by weeks 26 and 52, mostly without severe anaphylaxis though site reactions hit about 25 percent. Anecdotally plenty of people report sudden severe allergic or immune responses that appear without warning or after stopping and restarting. Definitely drop to a very small dose and ramp back up slowly. If anything similar happens during that test, your body might simply be done with Tesa. Could also be something else in that particular vial, like an excipient in the cake. Strange it didn't affect the rest of the kit, but we don't know how these are actually filled and sorted.

Future reactions seem impossible to foresee. From stories I've come across, this compound acts oddly and without warning. It's frequent for issues to arise midway through the process. My experience tells me I'd keep the emergency injector directly at hand, not just close by.

It looks like my thoughts are moving sluggishly at the moment. Should another attempt happen, consuming a single tablet half an hour ahead of time could offer some benefit. Actually, whenever beginning that substance, I intend to routinely use the tablet for added security.

Started by increasing my dose gradually from one milligram up to two of that compound. During the third week staying at the higher amount, every single injection resulted in these huge, extremely itchy lumps forming beneath the surface. The usual throbbing feeling would hit right after, followed immediately by the area puffing up and becoming super itchy. Right now I'm pausing for two weeks, after which I'll try beginning again using much smaller amounts to start. I might even skip returning to that two milligram level altogether.

I place every one of those hot compounds into the upper part of my buttocks with a 29 gauge needle. Saying it that way felt strange.

The symptoms described seem more like a moderate allergic response affecting the whole body rather than just the surface. Since an auto-injector is carried, there must be prior severe reactions to other triggers, raising the chance of similar issues here. This doesn't appear to be a faint from the needle itself. I figure it's probably not worth risking another try because even a tiny possibility of something serious isn't acceptable when the medication isn't essential and other options are available. Usually sensitivities intensify instead of easing up with more contacts. Avoiding trouble makes sense to me. Issues from preservatives or impurities can occur though typically the active components are the culprits.

I'm worried this could be an issue when beginning tesa. Hopefully it agrees with me since the thought of wasting that expensive kit feels terrible. I'll probably take an allergy pill first just to avoid any rash if it happens.

This one can be quite unpredictable. There are times when everything seems fine for weeks on end, until suddenly I get hives along with itching. The reason comes down to how the severe allergic response works with this compound. It comes from antibody activity. That medication has no impact on immune system function so it cannot help with an antibody triggered allergic emergency. A serious response to the compound means the epinephrine device is required instead.

After getting the injection I made sure to have an epi pen within reach for three hours. For the next one I will probably go with my thigh or upper arm.

I have an update to share. I lowered the amount back to half a milligram. The first dose went into my abdomen the usual way. There was no immediate issue yet a sharp sensation and a swelling appeared. The following day I tried the buttock instead and got the same sharp sensation plus swelling. The original spot had grown into a larger swelling while the abdomen kept itching repeatedly. The buttock reacted similarly the next day with noticeable redness around both spots. One more attempt on the opposite side of the abdomen produced the same redness and itching. Those ten weeks now count as a wasted effort. I am unsure if I would give it another shot after a few months or simply stop using it. I appreciate carrying a rescue injector but dislike actually needing it. This experience might prove useful to someone else. The results were solid and my midsection got smaller yet the downside feels too high compared to the gain.
