Not sure I'd label that a full ban, feels more like a short timeout to me. Still, surprised anyone would draw even that for complaining about a source out in the open section, though I never caught the original post either.

Actually seven days counts as a ban. Folks I've banned elsewhere hate getting a full week off the site, and admins can choose whatever length they want.

No way, that user is load-bearing around here. He's basically the test subject for all the other test subjects. If he's still posting and alive after whatever he ordered, it probably wasn't poison since he tends to jump in without checking.

When my kid was born I felt a little down that I never got arrested, since it seemed like something someone living life fully should try once. Now I'm wondering if I'm boring for never getting banned from a forum either.
True but he's that particular user. He once got suspended for arguing why he couldn't be another nickname. No one gets to be that other nickname because everyone wants it. They told him to accept he's not one of the other names either because it sounds bad. Reference to that old movie.

I really like this thread. Every ban, short or long, should be handled like a public execution where the offense gets announced, the penalty applied, and everyone else can react by tearing clothes, holding vigils, shaking fists, or throwing food.

I think Raw was before I joined, but that user makes me laugh, takes big risks without much thought, and never acts gross toward women. So I don't mind showing up to drop flowers on his short-term ban.

There used to be this massive thread full of his strange tests and bad plans. It got pretty nasty. The whole thing disappeared after he got banned for threatening a moderator. He's been kicked off nearly every site out there. Even I had to block him eventually. What he became known for was attempting to brew his own lemon solution at home and ending up with a stomach perforation.
I picture him roaming from one forum to another, spreading a brief wave of chaos and laughs before the ban hits and he moves along again. Kind of like a web version of that old TV dog. Maybe one day he'll decide to stay put.

Multiple accounts? I was wondering what happened with that situation. Where's the usual gossip guy? I never catch any of the drama. I do spot him on the other site now and then, though he's much quieter there. They don't allow nasty posts over there except maybe during actual scientific debates.
