Summary

What dosages and effects are known for the oral PCSK9 inhibitor MK-0616, and could it become available soon?

The thread discusses upcoming availability of MK-0616, an oral PCSK9 inhibitor, with phase 2 data showing LDL-C and ApoB reductions at daily doses of 6-30 mg. Participants share personal results with related drugs like evolocumab and retatrutide, noting lipid improvements but also barriers like cost and insurance. Some report their own ApoB and LDL drops while on retatrutide.

Looks like this peptide could come out soon. Anyone have ideas on the right dose? Maybe 40mg every day? Or would it be lower if injected? Would love any details!

This could be excellent. Hoping it does the job! The phase 2b report said participants got randomly put into groups for MK-0616 at 6, 12, 18, or 30 mg daily or placebo.

This medication blocks PCSK9 without any injection needed. It comes as a daily tablet instead of the shot version already out there. Those shots run really high in cost, so this version improves both how easy it is to take and how much it ends up costing. Second stage trials looked at daily amounts of six, twelve, eighteen, or thirty milligrams. Every dose produced real drops in LDL-C and ApoB, with over fifty-five percent reduction compared to placebo from twelve milligrams upward. It showed solid tolerance and no clear patterns of side effects between the groups. Third stage trials are running now with a twenty milligram target.

I noticed it later on. No one offers the shot version though, and the ones from over there haven't started producing the injectable form either. They're passing up a major chance to earn a lot. Lots of folks like me who have an inherited tendency for elevated LDL would start taking it immediately.

Yeah that one works better than anything else for managing my cholesterol levels. It cut my bad cholesterol and fats in blood by around a third and half respectively after dropping the previous pill. Still the expense is high despite decent coverage and the yearly renewal hassle is annoying due to how insurance companies operate. Purchasing unauthorized versions of patented medicines bothers my sense of right and wrong somewhat yet the remorse would be manageable with an affordable unofficial copy out there. That said I doubt it will appear quickly given this is a big intricate molecule rather than a short chain. Anyway I'm interested to see whether the fat reducing action from the upcoming treatment will combine with this or if it works similarly with little extra gain. I should learn more in a few months.

I've got this inherited cholesterol condition and take a pair of treatments together. Using just the first one produced zero change in my levels while the reduction from the second matches exactly what usually happens.

I appreciate the information shared. I expected further gains from Reta, yet should that fail to happen, perhaps I will discontinue Repatha to observe its impact by itself. My sibling experienced substantial lipid changes after moving from 15mg Tirz over to 15mg Reta. Of course, I'm aware this exceeds the highest amount tested in Reta studies.

How about these numbers. After going on Reta starting May following February tests the July seventh results came back with ApoB down thirty seven points and LDL down fifty four. Seems to have done what was wanted. ApoB is a little elevated still however on one milligram each week my total cholesterol looks great.
