My experience stacking cagri with reta

7 replies5 peopleJun 5, 2026☆ Follow
Summary

What happens when adding cagrilintide to an ongoing retatrutide cycle for someone already lean and active?

Users report that reta at 1-4 mg weekly already delivers strong appetite control and steady fat loss, yet adding low-dose cagri (around 266 mcg weekly) further reduces hunger and makes very low calorie intake feel effortless. Energy levels remain tied to carbohydrate intake rather than the peptides themselves, and the combination is described as making cutting easier than natural bulking or maintenance. Several participants are using the stack either to push lower body fat or to control appetite during a lean bulk.

I’ve been on reta for roughly eight weeks at one milligram weekly and just started testing cagrilintide on top. I’m already fairly lean, lift every day, do some cardio, eat one meal a day, and have tracked weight, macros, energy, sleep, and sides the whole time. Reta by itself was giving great appetite control, almost no food noise, low hunger, and steady weight loss while gym performance stayed the same or got better. Over the weeks the GI sides have been creeping up gradually. Energy has also tracked closely with carb intake: enough carbs and I feel fine, too few and I get flat and sluggish even though I’m not hungry. I added 133 mcg of cagri on Monday and another 133 mcg on Wednesday. So far the main change I’ve noticed isn’t really more appetite suppression bec

I'm pretty new around Reta still and now looking into organizing my upkeep period since cagri catches my attention. Really appreciate the details on how it went for you.

My cag should arrive soon, so I'll start using it in a few days. Right now I'm on reta dosing 1.5mg every third day, which brings me close to 4mg each week. So far the results on hunger and feeling full haven't been great. That's why I'm adding cag to try and improve those. I'm also fairly fit, doing weights three times a week plus cardio four or five times, with body fat near 12 percent.

I'm puzzled why anyone would add that second substance when the main one already exceeds what's required using just a minimal dose.

Sounds good. Tell me how things go with that addition. At twelve percent body fat, what are you aiming for exactly? Shredded look maybe, since that's what I'm after too. My scale shows nine percent right now. Still planning to drop more and test the limits of holding it steady. That pair makes everything so simple and smooth, almost silly really. It seems like I'm adding mass yet dropping weight fast while eating just fifteen hundred calories a day. This fat loss period on those meds feels simpler than trying to bulk or stay steady without them. So might as well push it further. Right now I look pretty extreme with veins on my abs and sunken face. I don't actually require the extra one since the main one handles everything fine, yet I wanted to test the combination anyway. Results blew past what I expected. Just a week in so far. Planned only that long but the stronger satiety is nice so now thinking about keeping it going. Won't bump up any amounts though since benefits are there without issues.

I'm currently focused on building muscle without letting body fat rise beyond a small amount during this phase. I've put in serious effort to reach my current condition and want to protect that progress. Using this approach helps me adjust what I eat so the gains stay on track. Over the last few weeks I've been bringing carbohydrates back in gradually. The goal is a sustainable way of eating that matches my energy needs and supplies enough protein for muscle. The low-carb method worked well for shedding weight but became tiresome after a while. I still enjoy certain fatty foods yet they lose appeal when eaten constantly. Since beginning hormone replacement a month ago my hunger has increased sharply and I added roughly fifteen pounds during May, mostly fluid along with some actual fat. Keeping glycogen stores filled supports stronger training sessions which low-carb eating didn't allow. My workouts involve barbells and dumbbells for presses, squats, curls and similar movements done every other day in multiple sets that go to failure around the twelve to fifteen rep mark. I'm also including thirty to forty minutes of steady walking on an inclined treadmill four or five times weekly. Cravings have been a constant struggle throughout my life. Last year I lost about fifty pounds through strict low-carb eating and managed the urges by avoiding carbohydrates entirely. With the addition of external testosterone the drive to eat has become intense around the clock. I've always carried extra weight and felt uneasy removing my shirt since childhood. I used to finish entire cakes, containers of frozen dessert or bags of snacks in one go and sweets were especially hard to resist. After working hard to drop the weight I refuse to return to that state. Combining these two compounds lets me fine-tune portions so I stop once my targets are met rather than continuing to eat. I understand what my body requires for maintenance and growth without excess fat yet my appetite pushes for far more.

When body composition already sits at a suitable level there is no reason to increase fat stores while taking these medications or even on your own since shifting muscle and fat ratios works unless someone has reached competition leanness where actual surplus calories become necessary but almost nobody falls into that category so adjusting ratios is the better route and the medications simplify the whole process substantially carbohydrates stay important because heavy energy restriction causes tiredness to build as hours pass low carb plans help reduce fat yet feel tougher with reduced drive if persistent hunger thoughts have been an issue the added medication helps yet cutting out carbs leaves you wiped out in both mind and body
