Summary

Where should peptides be injected and does the site matter for comfort or effects?

People mostly stick to abdomen or rotate between belly, hips, glutes, thighs and arms. Many report less pain and fewer reactions when they switch sides weekly or move to fattier areas, while a few prefer IM for compounds that cause swelling. Absorption speed may differ by location but total uptake appears similar. Rotation is emphasized to avoid scar tissue and irritation over time.

Do certain peptides go in specific body areas or do the usual upper thigh and abdomen spots work for everything? Right now I use Tirzepatide 10 mg once a week, Cagrilintide 1 mg once a week, and MotsC 2 mg on Monday Wednesday and Friday.

QuietPebble47archiveMay 12

I put every injection in my abdomen. Other spots just do not like sudden pokes.

PlainAlder11archiveMay 12

Left side of the belly one week, right side the next. I keep track on a sheet so I remember which side is next.

Do you see any difference in how strong the reaction is based on where you inject?

PlainAlder11archiveMay 13
↳ replying to @PatientTimber49

No difference showed up for me. I considered the butt but the belly is the one I barely notice.

CopperBeacon14archiveMay 13

I switch sides on the abdomen each week. It hurts the least and stays hidden. I still get some local swelling though and I bruise easily with red welts showing up.

PatientAlder89archiveMay 13
↳ replying to @CopperBeacon14

Have you tried icing the area first? I bruise easily too and it helped me.

CopperBeacon14archiveMay 13
↳ replying to @PatientAlder89

Never tried it but I am willing. I will ice on injection day and report back. How long do you usually ice?

PatientAlder89archiveMay 13
↳ replying to @CopperBeacon14

Fifteen to thirty minutes. The skin turns red from the cold. I am very sensitive to needles so this also numbs everything. Now I usually end up with just a tiny dot that fades fast. I use the lower belly.

PlainTimber26archiveMay 13

I go just above my c-section scar on the right side. That spot has no nerves so I feel nothing. Since starting TA-1 twice a day I noticed a bruise there, tried another area and immediately regretted it. A small bruise is better than sharp pain.

SharpBramble33archiveMay 15

I take six shots every day. My abdomen is overused so I sometimes use the butt cheeks though they hurt, under the armpits, and abdomen only when I have to.

PlainAlder11archiveMay 15
↳ replying to @SharpBramble33

Butt cheek shots hurt? I was planning to try that spot this morning. What kind of syringes do you use?

SharpBramble33archiveMay 15
↳ replying to @PlainAlder11

It is usually fine. I have been using the upper cheeks and I think the issue is the liquid is still too cold when I inject. That makes it sting but the pain fades quickly afterward. There is also less fat there compared with the abdomen or under the arms.

LevelCinder96archiveMay 15

I rotate through left and right delt, lat, abdomen around the love handles, and glute, plus the quads now and then though those can get sore. Rotating keeps scar tissue from building up so needles go in easier later. I press lightly and adjust until I find a numb spot before pushing in. Needle length depends on whether it is subq or intramuscular.

PlainAlder11archiveMay 16

I believe they do. The cheap ones I tried at first were no good. I switched to two other common brands in 31 gauge 8 mm and both feel much better when drawing and injecting. They cost more but the difference is clear.

SharpBramble33archiveMay 16
↳ replying to @PlainAlder11

Really? I will look into those. Thanks.

AmberPebble13archiveMay 16

I pin wherever I can pinch a bit of fat, which is pretty much everywhere. Thighs, stomach, hips, lower back, and butt, and I rotate often.

PlainAlder11archiveMay 16
↳ replying to @SharpBramble33

The first brand I mentioned is usually cheaper than the second one.

IronLantern24archiveMay 16
↳ replying to @AmberPebble13

I find the areas with the most fat hurt the least.

LevelMarble91archiveMay 16

I have been using hips and butt more lately while still doing some abdomen. The ones that cause bigger reactions like MOTS-C and NAD+ now go in the hip or butt. I am considering trying intramuscular because my TRT and glutathione shots that way produce no site reaction. Glutathione still burns a little but does not swell. A podcaster mentioned doing most peptides intramuscular now. Has anyone else tried that? My favorite IM spot is the thigh with a 25 g one-inch needle and it feels fine after the first week.

For what it is worth, studies on Tirzepatide showed higher blood levels when injected in the abdomen versus thigh or arm. Not sure if that applies to other peptides though.

SharpCinder28archiveMay 17

To be clear the total amount absorbed is the same. Abdominal shots just reach the bloodstream faster.

GreyAnchor47archiveMay 17

I also really like those syringes. They are noticeably better and the price difference is small.

SlowSparrow78archiveMay 17

My skin is very sensitive. Weekly Reta and cag in the stomach is fine but other peptides cause huge reactions. Pinning those in the thighs where there is less fat actually hurts less and leaves only tiny marks.

SharpCinder28archiveMay 17
↳ replying to @SlowSparrow78

I switched glutathione to intramuscular only. The last subq attempt left a road-rash look even though it was diluted. The side hip area under the love handles can also be less painful for subq shots.

CopperSignal27archiveMay 17

Lower abdomen fat works for everything except mots-c which leaves an itchy lump. I move that one to the thigh where a nerve issue makes the itch less noticeable.

PatientFenwick91archiveMay 17

IM glutes for anything over 1 mL that stings, usually carnitine or vitamins. IM delt for 1 mL or less of oils or peptides I want absorbed fast including HGH and NAD+. Abdomen subq is only for KLOW.

SlowSparrow78archiveMay 17
↳ replying to @SharpCinder28

Mine came premixed with vitamin C and zinc so the sting should not have been a surprise. I am still nervous about trying intramuscular though and might wait until I get a kit without the extras. Do you feel any pain with glutathione intramuscular?

AmberCompass48archiveMay 17
↳ replying to @PatientTimber45

Must be nice. I have no glutes left they have melted away.

QuietMarble97archiveMay 17

Good timing. I was about to ask whether TB-500 or BPC-157 need to be injected near the injury. I have been pinning near the shoulder with a cuff tear. Under the armpits is one spot I have not tried yet.

SteadyCinder62archiveMay 17

I began with abdominal injections for a year then moved to hips and flanks for six months. As fat decreased there the shots became more sensitive. Upper outer glute has worked best so far. I alternate sides and stay in fatty tissue. Most subcutaneous peptides can go in abdomen, upper thigh, hips or upper outer glute. Rotation matters more than the exact peptide because repeated use in one spot leads to irritation or scar tissue. With glute shots avoid the center and inner areas where larger nerves run deeper, especially the sciatic nerve. A shallow insulin needle in fatty tissue keeps risk low but hitting an irritated spot still hurts right away.

PatientHarbour23archiveMay 19

I rotate between back of arms, stomach and thigh.

SlowAnchor57archiveMay 20
↳ replying to @SharpBramble33

I use those same syringes. They are on Amazon.

PlainQuill79archiveMay 20
↳ replying to @QuietMarble97

I had ongoing tendon problems in the forearms near the elbow that flared after heavy sessions. Pinning closer to the site sped recovery compared with abdomen shots. How is the shoulder cuff tear responding so far?

QuietMarble97archiveMay 25
↳ replying to @PlainQuill79

The shoulder cuff tear feels much better. One more week then I will take four weeks off TB-500.

SteadyQuill55archiveMay 25

I pin all over the abdomen and hips. I tried the back of the arm once after seeing a commercial and immediately came back saying that hurt and never repeated it.

PlainQuill79archiveMay 25

A laundry peg to hold the skin fold works well in tighter or awkward spots.

LevelTimber64archiveMay 25

I move around the spots each time I do my under skin doses with these compounds.

SteadyBramble67archiveMay 25
↳ replying to @LevelTimber64

Exactly. I usually just move around the belly in those four quadrants. Having plenty of fat there helps too.

BrightSparrow36archiveMay 25

I used to do everything including twice-weekly glps and daily kvp in the belly but now the daily kpv goes in the upper outer thigh and hip area.

AmberLedger80archiveMay 29
↳ replying to @PlainAlder11

Dude, this is probably oversharing but my backside ended up with some ink and the whole process felt pretty rough. No interest in repeating that spot with needles.

BlueCompass15archiveMay 29

Tirz in the stomach rotating around the belly button. GHKCU in glutes daily switching sides. NAD+ in love handles three times a week switching sides. I will add KPV to the GHKCU with two months on and one month off.

WarmHarbour28archiveMay 29

Even in the belly I have hit a vein twice. That was quite a trip though it does not last long.

BlueLedger53archiveMay 29

Everything goes in the abdomen. Currently pinning four kinds.
