I dropped 53 pounds total. The purple shirt shot came from last season's softball team picture after I broke my arm in the prior game. It was one of the few recent photos of me and I had no full-length mirror at home, so the size surprised me. I weighed around 195 then at 5'7". I kept going up to 207 by January, lost 12 pounds on my own, and began the medication in mid-February. After six months on a split dose every five days I reached this point. The new team photo shows the contrast and I still want to drop about ten more pounds while getting toned, though BMI still lists me as overweight. Seeing the new pictures feels much better than last year.

Congratulations on the visible change. I hope to share my own before-and-after shots once I reach that stage. Keep going.

That's great progress. Once I lose twenty pounds or more I plan to treat myself to new clothes from a nice brand and refresh my dating profile.

Thanks. The beginning was tough because it overlapped with an autoimmune flare that caused extreme tiredness, but the last month has been much better and the weight is still coming off slowly at about a pound a week. Take some private photos along the way so you can track the difference later. My husband took a few for me but I would not share those here.

That sounds like a good plan. I am struggling with clothes right now because everything fits loosely yet replacing good jeans at each stage gets pricey, so I am just wearing oversized items for now.

Hey there, great outcome. Besides photos and scale readings, track measurements too because sometimes the number on the scale stays put while inches come off.

Before starting these medications a photo of myself never matched how I pictured my body in my head, so it was hard to accept the reality. This week while visiting family I saw recent pictures for the first time since losing thirty pounds and they align much better with how I expect to look.

Fantastic progress, way to go.

I enjoy seeing transformation pictures but please keep clothes on in any shared posts. One shirtless image from a hairy guy on this forum still lingers in my mind in a bad way. Congratulations on your results though.

Our numbers are similar since I am also 5'7" and currently at 195. Subtracting your loss from the starting weight gives 154, which seems like a healthy range for our height, and you look great. That gives me some hope.

Yes, you look unstoppable. Solid effort.

I am doing the same thing with baggy clothes because I would rather put money toward the medication than buy new outfits after every drop in size. Congratulations.

GreyThistle69archiveAug 17

I enjoy seeing these kinds of updates. You look great and I bet you feel better too. Hope the arm healed without issues.

SlowAlder89archiveAug 17

Very motivating, well done on the loss.

It is odd how the mind still sees a larger version even after the change. Compliments about looking thin catch me off guard. The medication for pain relief has helped more than the scale in some ways because my joint and nerve issues have cleared up. Still looking for something that works for ADHD though.

You look cute in both pictures and I am glad the progress feels positive. I know the dislike of seeing yourself in photos. I will need new pictures to judge my own changes because the scale and tape measure show improvement but my mirror view has not adjusted yet. I also like the medication a lot.

I am down thirty pounds and needed new riding gear plus jeans and shorts. Progress pictures helped me stay committed because the initial photo made me realize I had been underestimating my condition. I agree with the plan to update the wardrobe.
