How do side effects on reta compare to tirzepatide?

I'm lowering the tirz dose while raising reta. Came off 10mg tirz and now sit at 5mg tirz plus 2.5mg reta. Side effects feel the same as when I was increasing tirz. Sleep is poor the first few nights after the shot and I also get some skin irritation.

Sulfur burps showed up on mounjaro but faded after a while. Starting reta brought them back, though they taste different now and hit harder. Everything else has been unnoticeable for me.

Sleep has been terrible on reta. I got more and better rest on tirz. Planning to drop the reta dose and switch fully back to tirz. Weight loss isn't much better on reta either. It feels similar overall except for the worse sleep and higher heart rate.

The jump in resting heart rate did it for me. Went from the mid 50s up to the low 60s after adding just 1mg of reta split into 500mcg doses. Sleep was already iffy from diagnosed UARS and the reta-somnia made me stop it. Now on 7.5mg tirz and things are fine, though heart rate is still a bit higher than before reta. Results vary.

I went the other direction. Used reta to drop the weight then switched to tirz for maintenance to avoid reta sides. Tirz leaves me a bit more tired on shot day and that's about it. I split it into 1.5mg twice weekly. Reta caused insomnia that a little CJC no Dac plus Ipa or Tesa plus Ipa in the evening could handle. The two drugs feel quite different to me and probably do for many others. Neither is all good or all bad. You won't know until you try, but skip a few shots of one before starting the other so you can tell what's causing what.

I must be unusual because I've had no negative effects from either reta or tirz. I'm currently using both and haven't seen any higher heart rate or sleep trouble. Sorry for those dealing with issues though.

Same sides I got with tirz, nausea at different levels and loose stools at different levels.

Basically no bad effects on either tirz or reta. Tirz for about a month made me more regular than usual. Reta improves things less than tirz but still better than my normal baseline, though recency bias makes that hard to judge precisely.

Mild GI symptoms showed up when starting tirz. Reta has been tougher with skin aches the first month and now elevated heart rate that makes me anxious. Probably keeping reta low and tirz higher, currently at 7.5mg tirz and 3mg reta.

It's still a low dose so far, but since the symptoms only last three days it might be worth splitting into 1.25mg twice a week so the peaks are lower and fatigue could ease. Try that before switching to reta. Tirz and reta are more alike than different and there's no way to know if reta would be better without trying it. Also check whether a big calorie deficit or not drinking enough is adding to the fatigue.
