Anyone else get excited when shot day comes around?

48 replies25 peopleApr 20, 2026☆ Follow
Summary

Do people look forward to their regular peptide injection days or does it become routine?

Many users start out excited about shot day as a marker of progress and relief from prior struggles, but the feeling fades for those on daily regimens. Tracking apps help with dose timing, site rotation, estimated levels, and logging effects or weight. Some couples handle injections together while others note anxiety or the chore of accessing supplies persists. Long-term users often plan to continue indefinitely once results stabilize.

I do, just wondering how others feel. Once I finished looking into everything the whole thing takes half a minute now. I also bought the paid version of the tracking app but still keep a basic spreadsheet going. For people who have used the tracking app a while, what stands out as the best feature?

SlowThistle36archiveApr 20

I definitely look forward to it, and today happens to be the day. I like having set routines and seeing another week ticked off. It feels like a physical sign of movement forward. The paid tracking app is helpful right now because I am combining smaller amounts of two different compounds and it makes following estimated amounts and rotating sites simple. I might keep using it later for hormone replacement tracking once labs come back.

CopperBeacon14archiveApr 20

Of course. These compounds have really turned things around for me. That sense of ease right after the injection is something else. Not having to battle my own thoughts and body anymore feels invaluable, and the lower cost options make it even better.

Completely agree with everything you said.

LevelThistle44archiveApr 20

I used to anticipate it more than I do now. The newness has faded some, yet it is still pleasant. I use the tracking app to log daily weight and the injections. I also like checking where the high and low points will fall depending on when I time the shot.

SlowSignal37archiveApr 20

I felt that way when it was just once a week. Now that I do it every day the newness is gone.

Not only the one compound either, that adds up.

SlowSignal37archiveApr 20
↳ replying to @SlowLantern46

True. I should have mentioned that the tracking app also shows how many bananas I have dropped.

PatientFenwick91archiveApr 20

Yes, and I enjoy syringes and needles enough that I skip the pens entirely.

ClearTimber11archiveApr 20

It used to feel exciting. These days it is just a daily task because I am running several compounds and end up with three to six injections each day.

SlowLantern46archiveApr 20

Where exactly does the banana counter appear? I only started the app today and entered some past shots and weights. Maybe it needs more entries to show up.

SlowSignal37archiveApr 20
↳ replying to @SlowLantern46

It shows up at the bottom of the main screen under the word Journey.

GreyPebble98archiveApr 20

I enjoy pinning days too.

PlainAlder11archiveApr 20

Yes and no. I get the syringes ready, fill them, then do mine and then my wife’s. Sometimes she comments, sometimes not. I have improved at it and she even says so. The finer needles make a difference.

SteadyMarble92archiveApr 20

Both my wife and I feel a bit of excitement. It comes from seeing the results these protocols have delivered. Knowing we are about to take the next step feels good and keeps us both engaged with our health.

NorthKettle44archiveApr 20

Exactly the same here with my wife. She shuts her eyes and will not watch any of it. We also use the paid tracking app. It works well for logging more than just doses and timing, including side effects and charts for lots of details.

After reading more here and seeing all the other compounds people are trying, I think about that often. Right now my supplies sit in a spot that makes me annoyed just thinking about grabbing them every day.

SharpLantern71archiveApr 20

I am in the maintenance phase now so it is less exciting. Back when the scale was still dropping steadily I was definitely looking forward to it. After years of struggling with weight it finally felt like something that worked.

SlowLantern46archiveApr 20
↳ replying to @SharpLantern71

Did you lower the amount until the food noise stayed manageable? Do you expect to keep that level going long term?

ClearWillow59archiveApr 20
↳ replying to @SlowSignal37

I do three or four shots a week. When I skip one I feel both a little relieved and a little let down. Relief comes on busy weekends when family is around and I would rather not hide it. Disappointment hits on quiet days when I have time and nothing to do.

PlainAlder11archiveApr 20
↳ replying to @ClearWillow59

It is easier now that it is just the two of us and we are retired. We handle ours Friday morning around ten.

CopperQuill54archiveApr 20

I look forward to shot day. I ordered a new injection pen device and cannot wait to try it once it arrives.

SharpLantern71archiveApr 21

I have been combining compounds throughout. Right now I am at four milligrams of one for appetite control and six milligrams of the other for fat loss. Weight has stayed within three pounds. I tweak the amounts slightly when needed. After forty years of trying every diet, yes I plan to stay on this for good. It changed everything from the old cycle of ups and downs.

SlowLantern46archiveApr 21
↳ replying to @SharpLantern71

Nice work staying consistent. That is great to see.

PlainAlder11archiveApr 21
↳ replying to @SharpLantern71

That is good to hear. I also expect to stay on the second compound. Are you female?

GreenQuill84archiveApr 22
↳ replying to @SlowLantern46

The baskets sit on top of the kitchen cabinets in the garage addition. I have to climb onto the counter and rummage through them. It is not a huge issue but I have delayed doses because I did not feel like climbing up. Also you are from the same area I was born in Charlotte and spent early years in the neighboring state.

BrightPebble45archiveApr 23

When it was once a week, yes. Daily makes it less appealing.

Which pairing with the main compound do most people feel gives the clearest benefits?

WryQuill58archiveApr 23

Shot day? You mean every single day?

PlainAlder11archiveApr 23
↳ replying to @SharpLantern71

Okay, I was just wondering because of the weight numbers.

SharpSparrow32archiveApr 23

I will be the different one here. I still feel some mild nervousness around needles even after a full year of doing it regularly.

GreenLedger62archiveApr 25
↳ replying to @SlowLantern46 (opening post)

Seeing the estimated medication levels when I open the app. I also like adding notes to individual shots or days. I always record how any compound affects me so having it all together is convenient.

SlowLantern46archiveApr 25
↳ replying to @SharpSparrow32

I figured it would be the same for me but my heart rate stays steady. I dislike having blood drawn unless it is done just right, yet these tiny needles are hardly noticeable.

PlainAlder11archiveApr 25
↳ replying to @GreenLedger62

So you need the app to know how much you have taken? Years ago we just remembered. Do you also need an app to remind you when to eat? I am genuinely asking.

BlueCinder33archiveApr 25
↳ replying to @PlainAlder11

Can I ask what you are taking and the reason?

PatientMeadow16archiveApr 25

I wish I did. I only enjoy shots when I am sitting at a bar.

PlainAlder11archiveApr 25
↳ replying to @BlueCinder33

Sure, six milligrams of the main compound at the moment. It was the first one I came across and it simply works for us.

RustKettle37archiveApr 26

Every day is shot day. At least two a day currently. One of them includes a compound that stings and often leaves a bump. It gets tiresome. I might look into the tracking app more. I had heard of it but was unsure if it would be worth it.

GreenQuill59archiveApr 26
↳ replying to @NorthKettle44

Side effects and graphing? You sold me on buying it. I am tired of guessing. Thanks.

WryFenwick45archiveApr 26
↳ replying to @GreenQuill84

Random question for you. Why not make access simpler? I keep mine in a nice box at the back of the fridge. Much easier to reach, especially now that the fridge is emptier.

GreenLedger62archiveApr 26
↳ replying to @SharpSparrow32

I do not enjoy doing the calculations for steady state and estimated levels myself. The app helps for the same reason others like tools that simplify things. And yes, without the app reminding me to eat I would forget and fade away. I do track my food intake though.

GreenQuill84archiveApr 28
↳ replying to @WryFenwick45

That is a solid reason to pick up more of that brand.

WryFenwick45archiveApr 28
↳ replying to @GreenQuill84

As if you need a reason to buy more of that brand.
