Tirzepatide dose and libido drop experiences

Summary

how to restore libido while on high dose tirzepatide

One user reports that tirzepatide at 10 mg and above strongly reduces mental drive, touch sensitivity and erection quality, with partial recovery toward the end of the week. High-dose vitamin D3 improved rigidity for that person while zinc helped with a separate copper-peptide side effect; training and other supplements gave earlier benefits but could not fully offset the higher dose. Other participants suggested TRT, enclomiphene, hCG or PT-141 as options, though the original poster remains cautious about PT-141 due to reported lasting effects.

Back when I started at 2.5 mg the first shot wiped out libido for about a day and a half. Over the next fourteen weeks of losing weight I brought it back and actually made it stronger than before by lifting weights three times a week, taking 5 000 IU vitamin D3 plus 500 mg magnesium glycinate every day, using 1 g NMN and 2 g TMG daily, and injecting 200 mcg kisspeptin about seven hours before sex. Those steps got me past the level I had as a teenager when smoking and drinking had already lowered it. Four days into the current dose I feel completely flat again. Any ideas?

Libido started returning after six and a half days. I dropped to 8.75 mg instead of 10 mg and about twenty hours later fatigue returned, though milder than before. There is still some sensation in the groin area rather than total numbness. Even with everything I was already doing the tirzepatide effect seems too strong to fully overcome.

200 mg of test cyp each week from a doctor. Your wife will follow you around like a puppy.

Enclomiphene or hCG can also be tried. They increase volume and improve orgasm intensity too.

I think I found the missing piece. I have been using GHK-Cu for eight weeks as part of a glow protocol and recently developed skin itchiness that was not an allergy. Some sources say copper peptides can deplete zinc the way magnesium and calcium need balancing, so I added 30 mg zinc the day before my next GHK-Cu dose. The itch stopped and erections became noticeably firmer and more reliable. A quick search confirmed zinc deficiency is linked to erectile issues through blood-flow effects.

Update: the high tirzepatide dose itself (now at 15 mg) appears to be what keeps things limp no matter what else I add or cycle. After seeing a video on rapid muscle response to 10 000 IU vitamin D3 I tried that dose while in a three-month plateau. Muscle gains are not obvious yet but erections are markedly harder and last about three days between doses, apparently from better nitric-oxide availability and endothelial function. Even right after the weekly tirzepatide shot the improvement held.

I have been taking 8 000 IU plus 200 mcg D3K2-7 daily since mid-January and have not noticed any clear changes. Unless someone is already low I would not expect rapid muscle growth, and even then rapid would not be the word I would use. Bloodwork is due again in a couple of weeks and I am aiming for 50 ng/mL plus or minus 10. I switched to venous draws for accuracy.

He claimed it worked for him. Back to the practical side, I notice three separate parts to the problem: the mental craving, physical sensitivity to touch, and actual rigidity. High-dose tirzepatide knocks out all three. As the week winds down and food noise returns, the mental drive comes back first, then sensitivity slowly improves while rigidity recovers only partly. For months the GLP-1 had dulled the last two. Before the high-dose vitamin D, only viagra helped and it only fixed rigidity. I am going to combine kisspeptin with the higher vitamin D right before the next weekly shot to see if all three improve together.

I have never run into that on tirzepatide. Have you considered PT-141? It is basically made for exactly this situation. Must be rough if you are traveling.

Not yet. The stories about lasting sexual anhedonia make me hesitant, so I would only try it if things got really difficult. Right now I am still doing better than six years ago when I was not training and smoked heavily. My peak was early teens, then late teens through mid-twenties; surprisingly my fifties come next. The stretch from twenty-six to thirty-five was the worst with no exercise, heavy smoking and drinking, and steady weight gain.

The studies I have seen do not list that particular risk, so it may be anecdotal. I have not used it myself so I cannot recommend it, but it is another possibility if needed.

SlowLedger42archiveFeb 18

You are quick to rule PT-141 out. Could the anhedonia reports simply be the return to baseline once the acute effect fades?

No, the account described a sudden complete loss of sensation at climax that then lasted for weeks afterward. It reminded me of the permanent issues some long-term finasteride users report, which is why I decided against trying it for now. The person had a history of other drug use so maybe that played a role. If it ever becomes a real issue with my wife I will reconsider, but not before.
