How long have you been on Tirz and what's your dose?

Summary

How long have people been on tirzepatide, what doses are they using, and what weight loss results are they seeing?

Users report durations from a few weeks to over two years on tirzepatide, with doses ranging from 2.5 mg up to 20 mg weekly and weight losses from 30 to 90+ pounds. Many describe gradual titration, periods of maintenance after reaching goals, and some experimenting with dose splitting or adding other compounds when progress stalls. Several note that lower doses continue working well for them while others increased to higher levels for continued results.

Hello everyone! Following the thread title, how long have others been using it and at what milligram amounts? I've finished three months now at 5 to 6 milligrams, still figuring out the ideal level. I've dropped 18 kilograms since July and it's progressing nicely.

BrightMeadow24archive19h

Seven months in and now at 10 mg. I've lost 35 kg, about 30 percent of my starting weight. Micro titrating from 5 mg up to 7.5 mg worked well for me and I spread that increase across four months.

CopperBeacon14archive19h

In general around two to three years total, with nonstop use for a year after accounting for a short break due to illness. Right now I'm at 16 mg per week and have lost 90 pounds.

WarmQuill69archive18h

I lost 50 kg without this medication between 2022 and 2023, going from 143 kg down to 93 kg. I regained more than 20 kg over the following years and restarted at 114.9 kg in January 2026, reaching 108 kg. I began treatment in July 2026 at 112 kg and now sit at 94.9 kg, which is 20 kg less than January and nearly back to my lowest weight.

LevelAlder29archive17h

I've been on it for 8 months at 7.5 mg and added a 3 mg stack for the last month. Down 48 pounds or about 21.77 kg. I might move up to 8 or 8.5 mg this week.

RustSignal28archive17h

My favorite subject! Three months in and I'm at 5 mg with 40 pounds lost as of last week. The 5 mg dose is still working well and I have no plans to increase yet.

WarmWillow70archive17h

Five weeks now. My last injection was 2.5 mg and the next will be 5 mg following my doctor's guidance. As I mentioned elsewhere, I'm not sure the increase is needed since 2.5 mg is working great, but I'll try the higher amount and see how it feels.

CopperQuill49archive16h

Since September 2024 and at 15 mg weekly for a year. Down over 80 pounds with 25 left to go, though I've been maintaining for the past year. Recently added a stack and started losing again. 52F, 280 starting weight, 192 current weight, 5'7".

WarmSparrow60archive16h

I've stuck with this for a year and a half now, using eighteen milligrams on a weekly schedule. This compound goes far beyond some wonder drug. It has reshaped my whole outlook along with how my body feels. Picking it counts as my top health move so far.

GreyLantern71archive16h

Six months at 10 mg every seven days with about 60 pounds lost.

SlowLedger99archive16h

This conversation is really uplifting. Comparing all the stats together gives me motivation. It's impressive how one person spread their dosage increase from five to seven point five across four months, and another restarted their weight loss after maintaining for twelve months. I began writing down my amount and my emotions every seven days early on. After some time passes, remembering the sequence of events becomes difficult, but having those records simplifies choosing when to adjust.

NorthWillow72archive15h

For over two years I've stayed on this med, holding at the fifteen milligram level right until the week before. Reached my target back in April of twenty twenty five after shedding twenty seven percent overall, though I shifted the amount several times to stay level. That dose ran for sixteen months before I dropped to ten milligrams recently, so time will tell how it turns out. Started at two hundred twenty six, first aim one hundred eighty five, second one hundred sixty four, now sitting at one hundred sixty one as a five foot nine male who's fifty nine with normal BMI.

IronKettle44archive15h

Started March 2025 at 2.5 mg and now at 7 mg split as 3.5 mg twice a week. I went up to 9 mg but didn't notice much extra difference compared to 7 mg so I dropped back down. I wasn't really obese to begin with but started for the sleep apnea and inflammation benefits. Best decision I ever made.

IronCinder88archive15h

It's been one year and I've reached my goal weight. I'm at 6 mg and staying at this dose for now because I like having fewer food and alcohol cravings.

BlueKettle27archive14h

Twelve weeks so far and down almost 30 pounds from 327. Followed standard titration and now at 7.5 mg. I'd like to stay here for a while to see how it goes. I work out regularly, focus on protein, and still have a bite or two with family at meals. Food noise is basically gone.

SlowFenwick77archive14h

I've taken this small amount for two months so far, and I intend to keep using a low level for however long the results stay just as strong as they are right now.

QuietAlder25archive13h

Eighteen months so far. Started after a plateau on another medication. I've been at target weight for over a year. I slowly increased to 20 mg every five days until hitting goal. My maintenance dose now is 5 mg every ten days.

PlainPebble69archive11h

Been on it for about three months. For the last three weeks I've been splitting my 10 mg dose into two shots, 5 mg on Tuesdays and 5 mg on Fridays. It feels smoother and I get no side effects compared to taking 10 mg all at once.

Seventy-nine weeks at 7.0 mg per week. I've been in maintenance since February.

SlowSignal37archive9h

Thirteen months so far and up to 12.5 mg. Fifty-five pounds gone with ten more to go. Recently added a stack to break a long stall at 1.5 mg a week. The combination is working well.

BlueSignal97archive8h

Twelve months of this preceded by five months on another medication. Currently at 5 mg of one compound and 20 mg of tirzepatide weekly. Twenty-five percent of original weight lost and still have a long way to go, but I'm finally below the curve of the trial participants since adding two other compounds for the past few months.

LevelTimber12archive6h

On for 2.5 months and currently at 7.5 mg per week. I'm thinking of titrating back down already because since starting 7.5 two weeks ago I've had serious bouts of diarrhea starting about 24 hours after injection that last several days. The previous weight loss rate on 5 mg per week was acceptable. The current diarrhea is not.

I'd reduce it again. There's no reason to keep raising the amount while the weight loss stays decent, especially with sides showing up. My own step up to that level came at week fourteen.

Yeah I've been getting that advice a bunch lately about slowly increasing until it gets too hard to take and I'm pretty much there at this point.

NorthWillow72archive5h

To me that step isn't required as long as the pounds are dropping by one or two a week or by one percent and the deficit feels manageable.

WryHarbour43archive5h

Ten months at 12.5 mg and also taking 1 mg of another compound per week. Down 60 pounds and pretty much at goal weight. I anticipate starting to titrate down soon and/or increasing the other compound relative to this one in order to focus on fat mobilization and recomp. I expect to be on some form of maintenance dose long term and will be guided by results in deciding exactly how much or how long.

I tried spreading the doses across two days in the week and that eased both the unwanted effects plus any hunger that returned later.

PlainQuill53archive4h

I don't even remember anymore, two years or so I believe. Lost about 60 lbs before starting for prediabetes and another 60 with the help of the medication before going to compounded. Stayed at 2.5 mg the entire time except for two or three months where I tried 5 mg but didn't see any difference so dropped back down to 2.5 mg and now just on maintenance around 2 mg. About 41 percent total weight loss.

I've been on it since June 2024 and never went above 2.5 mg a week. Started at 258 pounds and now down to 153 pounds, maintaining that weight for nearly a year.

Wow, that's really impressive! I'd love to hear the details on how you achieved it. Did you make big changes to what you eat and your workouts, or did you mostly depend on the medication alone?
