Summary

how do people handle long stalls and tiny losses while on tirzepatide and similar meds

Users describe breaking out of multi-month plateaus with sudden multi-pound drops after weeks of minimal progress. They note ongoing frustration even when the overall trend is downward, and they discuss holding doses low to preserve room for later increases or adding other compounds. Several mention the worry that stalls will continue near the top of the dose range with no easy way to adjust downward later.

I have been trapped inside the same ten-pound range for what feels like forever. After starting tirz and seeing steady weekly drops for months, progress stopped in May and June. July brought movement again but only tiny amounts like two-tenths or six-tenths of a pound each week. The slow pace felt discouraging even though my overall average stayed around one point four pounds lost weekly and the chart kept trending down. This week I expected the number to rise after strong sugar cravings, yet the scale showed three pounds lower instead. It feels really good and I wanted to post because others here understand both the irritation and the relief.

It is rough that it happened to you but I am also relieved to read it because I have been stuck for the last three weeks myself. If this drags on much longer I might try the awful pre-colonoscopy prep just to force the scale down. I am not actually that desperate yet but still, this is ridiculous. Congratulations though, sort of. Just kidding, I am happy for you.

Everyone worries they will still have weight left when they reach the highest dose and then have to scramble to keep losing. The worst outcome would be battling strong cravings at the top end with no option left except staying there, which would leave no simple way to adjust later for maintenance.

You know exactly how it feels. It really does make you think of crazy ideas like chopping off a limb to drop a few pounds. It is miserable but I hope your stall breaks soon. I still have a lot left to lose and I have metabolic syndrome, so only a couple of times in my life have I managed steady loss longer than three or four months. That is exactly why I have been trying to stay at lower doses as long as possible. I am also thinking about adding Reta and will definitely try Elora once my supply shows up. The goal is to keep enough dosing flexibility to reach my target next summer. It is somewhat reassuring to hear people using doses well above fifteen milligrams in studies. On the gray side even five years at fifteen milligrams stays reasonable to obtain, though compounded would be a different story.

It is odd how certain you feel the scale will go up after overeating the day before, only to step on it and see a new low instead. Congrats.

Bodies really are strange and seem to follow their own rules. I was shocked by the drop because two days earlier I ate maybe a dozen Oreos, which is unusual now since three to five usually satisfy me, but the craving was intense that day.

When I hit a stall I have literally cut inches off my hair hoping it would move the scale. Congrats on hitting the new decade!

I had something similar happen in June. From mid-March through the end of May I lost around thirty pounds with Reta. All through June I stayed in a calorie deficit and lifted three or four times a week yet only dropped three pounds total. July has been moving better so far.
