I need someone to verify my calculations on this mix. RT10 with 2 ml of bac water, aiming for a 1.5 dose on the Convipen. Would that come to 15 clicks? Different calculators keep giving me varying answers and I cannot pin it down, so any help confirming the math would be appreciated.

2 ml gives 200 units. Divide by 10 mg and that is 20 units per mg, therefore 1.5 mg equals 30 units or 0.3 ml. The same result comes from multiplying 1.5 mg by 0.2 ml per mg. I do not know the click count on that pen though. Searching the forum for reconstitution units and mg turns up plenty of useful threads worth reading.

My R20 vials test at 22.6 to 23.10 mg. Reconstituting with 2.3 ml of bac water would give even 2 mg, 3 mg or 4 mg doses. I also ran the figures through a calculator for confirmation.

The numbers can feel heavy but it helps to understand the actual process rather than relying only on pen clicks that might differ by brand. Education prevents repeat questions after every concentration change. The original query did take a while to receive a straight answer though. This place feels better than other forums where jokes often delay useful replies.

With 23.10 mg in 2.3 ml the volumes come out to roughly 20 units for 2 mg, 30 for 3 mg and 40 for 4 mg. Rounding up would leave the final dose short by about 10 units. Treating the vial as exactly 20 mg and using 2 ml bac water instead gives cleaner 20, 30 and 40 unit marks for 2.3, 3.45 and 4.6 mg. The extra amount is small enough that it would not be noticeable.

For an overfill of just a couple mg I reconstitute to the listed amount. With larger overfills like 8 or 9 mg on an R30 I mix according to the actual fill so it behaves like an R40.

I would do the same for a big overfill. Anything up to 5 mg I would simply ignore and treat as nonexistent.

Individual absorption differences exist of course, but anything under or around one tenth of the dose is not worth recalculating.

I forgot about filtering before use and am reading up on that now. I was planning labels for the bottles before freezing and wanted the reconstitution and dosing details on them.

Label them before they go into the freezer. When they arrive I leave them on the bench until ready and they stay fine without sweating.

I like to note the name, dose, freeze date, batch number if any, order and receipt dates plus source. The last two help if a COA later shows problems.

I keep all that detail in a spreadsheet and label only the vial and cap with size and source. Reconstituted filtered vials now get separate labels for each person along with type and source. We have always split into two vials but are now on different doses. An R140 mix in one vial might work, giving eight weeks at 6 mg and 10 mg respectively.
