Splitting GLP-1 doses more often than weekly

20 replies12 peopleApr 8, 2026☆ Follow
Summary

Does splitting tirzepatide or retatrutide doses every three to six days work better than weekly injections for appetite control?

Users report that more frequent smaller injections maintain steadier hunger suppression and reduce side effects compared with single weekly shots. Several have switched to every-three-day or every-five-day schedules after noticing weaker effects or stronger peaks and crashes on weekly dosing. Half-life differences between the compounds are noted as a factor in choosing intervals. Some combine compounds on offset schedules while others stay on one agent.

Thinking about injecting more often. When I do the full amount once a week or every five days the effects feel weaker than splitting the same total into smaller doses spread further apart. Are there any known downsides to pinning smaller amounts more often? I want to avoid getting used to it too quickly.

Sounds like you notice weaker hunger control on the weekly schedule and better results when you split the dose. Plenty of people do the same for that reason. The main difference people mention is a lower peak but steadier moderate levels instead. I don’t see that as a problem, though others might. The extra injections can be a hassle to track, but most feel the steadier effect is worth it.

Started with tiny doses to limit sides and it worked completely. Now I inject 1 mg every three days and stay around a steady 3 mg level. Feels more effective to me.

I do the same thing but with reta. Began with small doses to limit sides and increased slowly. Started at the beginning of the year and recently moved up to 2 mg every three days. Down 27 lbs so far.

I use day five and seven because I have half-ml syringes. Twelve mg then 7.5 mg. Twice a day feels too much like a habit. Fifteen mg is already a lot and nearly twenty is even bigger. Getting it all at once can make me a bit lightheaded.

I inject tirz every six days and the other compound every six days but offset by three days.

What stands out to you about the second compound compared with the others?

Still early for me, only two low starting doses of 0.3 mg so far. No clear effect yet. I had good results with sema before and thought about adding a low dose of it to tirz but decided to try this one instead after reading it pairs well. Time will tell.

I inject tirz every five days to keep the hunger control steady. It works noticeably better that way.

For research-grade versions I agree the difference is minor compared with the branded product.

Check a glp-1 level graph first. The different half-lives show up clearly and you can adjust start dates and offsets. I used every-three-day injections for months and it worked fine. Once I got close to goal I stretched it to every four days.

Reta gives me skin sensitivity so I went with the survo plus tirz stack instead and it works well.

Tirz half-life is about five days, reta six, and sema seven.

Exactly, I don’t mind a milder peak. I’ve felt sick on injection day a couple times and then overly hungry a few days later. I like being able to notice it’s working without it being too strong so I can still eat normally.

Been doing 4.5 mg reta plus 0.75 mg sema every three days for three months. Had stalled at 8 mg reta and couldn’t handle 10 mg weekly. Another 8 lbs down since switching, 110 total, and no sides. The graph shows average levels around 2.7 sema and 12.8 reta. Might replace the sema in the next round.

Nice results. What are you thinking of replacing the sema with?

Same approach here and it’s working fine while I’m only using tirz.

I go every six days. By day six my appetite usually returns. It suits me. Down from 178 to 140 since February 8.
