Is it just me, or does Amazon periodically strip all pep supplies (BAC Water, syringes, etc) from their site?

Summary

Why does Amazon keep removing bacteriostatic water, syringes and similar items from search results and listings at random times?

Multiple users report the same items vanishing from Amazon searches and saved lists, then sometimes reappearing weeks later. Others in different locations or with different search terms still see stock. Some blame policy enforcement or location rules while others point to past quality test results on various brands. A few note that even previously purchased items disappear from reorder history.

What this discussion establishesWhere people disagree

Some participants see the removals as widespread while others report no change in availability at all.

I saw this before when trying to reorder insulin syringes and nothing showed up. Just checked again and all the reconstitution solution is missing now too. Any idea why these things keep disappearing and coming back?

PlainAlder11archiveMar 31

Looks like their goal is just to frustrate you on purpose. πŸ˜‚ I really haven't come across this sort of thing before.

SlowBeacon94archiveMar 31

I just ordered a couple boxes of syringes from there and didn’t have any issues. I don’t order my reconstitution solution from them so can’t speak to that.

ClearHarbour45archiveMar 31

This occurs for me at times depending on how I type the query. In those situations I switch over to the section for items bought earlier and it tends to appear there most of the time.

Except I saved a couple for later and they went poof as well. I just searched the following terms and where I would get plenty of hits before, now it yields only sterile water and cases.

ClearBeacon24archiveApr 1

I looked and everything I order from them is still on there.

True, syringes can be found at this time, even though they ran out completely a few weeks earlier. These days the bac water is the one that's unavailable.

CopperAlder51archiveApr 1

That marketplace version always seemed questionable from the start. Lab checks turned up inconsistent readings on acidity, alcohol percentage, and contamination levels. Follow-up rounds showed batches clearing earlier checks still had problems with endotoxins. Glad things went smoothly if you tried it anyway. The details came from a report with attached test files.

Weird I had one delivered recently. So it must be just you.

Yeah, another member and I dealt with this situation as well. It comes down to the BAC water for some unknown cause, and that mystery was the reason we began the discussion. I was just looking to see if any explanation exists for why it happens.

NorthMarble60archiveApr 1

Enforcement looks way stricter on bac and recon lately. A few now go under the label laboratory solution.

felt a little down when it disappeared. not fond of purchasing from other places at all

The only two that passed aren't even on there now. I've never seen that brand before.

I feel the same. Looking up that mixture term brought up a dead retailer connection along with several others. They might show up again someday just like the injectors once did or they might stay gone. Can't tell what makes the site act that way.

WarmAlder80archiveApr 3

Upon looking back at a buy from roughly three weeks earlier the needles still show while the mixing solution does not. The receipt also drops any maker reference and lists the water item in plain terms only.

PatientAlder89archiveApr 3

I suspect areas end up restricted if delivery there isn't possible. A bunch of platforms probably handle things that way, which explains why those pens never appear for me.

ClearHarbour45archiveApr 3

I had a quick look just now. My two most recent acquisitions aren't visible anywhere. Maybe I ought to request a refund. It makes sense for sold out stuff to disappear from the reorder options, yet their absence from the full order history feels off.

CopperAlder51archiveApr 3

I got this info from one of those embryo-related forums that can't be linked here. Quite a few options cleared the basic chemical checks for preservative percentage and acidity level but never went through any bacteria or toxin screening in the report. Their preservative power and acidity lined up fine, yet nothing can be said about germ or fever agent safety based on what's out there. One version passed the preservative, acidity, and bacteria tests but came back too high on the toxin reading, above the allowed threshold. That shows even versions that look chemically solid might carry a toxin hazard. By comparison, a few others came in with far too little preservative, didn't pass bacteria checks, and carried very high toxin counts. A couple more had preservative levels that fell outside the acceptable range. One had roughly the right preservative amount but an acidity reading that was far too high. Another had zero preservative at all, making it identical to plain sterile water even though it was sold as the preserved type, which points to a labeling or mixing error. In the end I went with the hospital version.

ClearKettle64archiveApr 3

I didn't catch that before. I checked with a retailer about getting larger needles for muscle injections and they said those would require a script unlike the diabetes ones. That rule was new to me. So I ordered some from a site instead.

I had a subscription for a few that was due to deliver soon that vanished. I guess my money will have to be spent elsewhere.

Pharmacy rules change depending on the location. For my purposes getting sterile needles sealed one at a time worked fine through online sellers. I have also relied on one-milliliter TB syringes. In my view any bacteriostatic water meant for shots ought to meet USP standards. There appears to be some bias from the professionals.

BrightLantern89archiveApr 3

That reasoning would suggest you're steering clear of gray market peptides.

I'm simply trying my hardest to keep methods sterile whenever possible. On top of that I get a sample from every lot checked by an outside lab and hold off until the feedback arrives before any use. Making do with whatever options exist right now. From what I understand that sterile water version is basically the sole choice stocked in medical centers around the country these days since others vanished years ago. Plenty of places skip having it on hand at all because of how harmful it can be for newborns.

Pinning high units of endotoxins but the bac water is pharma.

PatientTimber33archiveApr 3

Things remain obtainable up north for me. Perhaps adjusting the destination nation could help out? Not sure whether that approach succeeds.

SteadyLedger54archiveApr 3

I checked into this after recalling how I administered insulin to my pet years back during efforts to lower costs and increase access. In researching needle regulations across states, I discovered that where I live, a regulation was enacted recently requiring prescriptions for insulin, though needles remain available without one. It frustrates me to think about someone whose final container shattered needing a replacement late in the week with no more authorized doses left and their physician unavailable until after the weekend. Perhaps this setup benefits emergency facilities financially. Regarding the main topic, I nearly acquired the item through a major online marketplace before it became unavailable. Luckily that prompted me to obtain it via a verified provider discussed in this forum instead, which proved advantageous for them.

We pull aside a single container from each batch just to verify its contents. It would be nice if the source details and any lab checks got posted here too. Appreciate you keeping an eye on things.

I'm curious how much it would run to check one vial from every package for those markers along with endo and sterility checks. Seeing a few of the findings from that would interest me too.

PlainAlder11archiveApr 4
↳ replying to @PatientAlder89

A notice popped up right under the cost showing those needles won't deliver to the chosen spot because of rules in the area or the site's own guidelines and it tells you to pick somewhere else instead. I had ordered the two volumes from a different store by using the community code. I also picked up several bigger containers during that order. The exact same issue came up for me just a couple days ago too. Another member had shared a link with the details around that time.

PlainAlder11archiveApr 4

I'm puzzled why those gaps showed up in the text. Hit delete a bunch of times hoping to straighten things out.

I think I paid around that on a recent date for certain gauge on Amazon. May give a big box club a try next.

I updated the delivery details first and had the package go out marked like a present heading back to my previous spot.

PlainAlder11archiveApr 4
↳ replying to @QuietAnchor73

I spotted a lower price at another spot, and the size of my purchase qualified for no-cost delivery to this location.

PlainAlder11archiveApr 4

Like poking myself with a straw when we tried an off brand of that gauge from Amazon. I'll stick with the known good ones. Just my opinion.

CopperAlder51archiveApr 4

Check out a medical supply site for a good deal on the known good brand. Best price I've found.

BrightLantern89archiveApr 4
↳ replying to @PlainAlder11

I've checked these against another brand's syringes and they match exactly except for the fact that each one here has its own individual packaging.

PlainAlder11archiveApr 4
↳ replying to @CopperAlder51

Maybe I gave that location a shot before but ran into trouble with their special offer. I got a pair of the one milliliter versions along with a point zero five after applying a small percentage off. They probably work alright for those who prefer them, though my partner complains about discomfort from generic ones ordered online. The higher quality options perform better as well. I don't mind paying a bit more to get a hundred uses. This is only my personal thought.

BrightLantern89archiveApr 8

I visited the nearby warehouse store in my area and requested a pack of diabetes needles that come with a different brand inside. Staff explained insulin must be bought on site before they will provide the syringes and that each pharmacist decides on their own whether to offer them. That leaves availability of the cheaper versions pretty unpredictable there.

ClearHarbour45archiveApr 8
↳ replying to @BrightLantern89

Ridiculous that they appoint themselves gatekeepers. Some states you cant order your own bloodwork, wtf is up with that.

PlainAlder11archiveApr 8
↳ replying to @ClearHarbour45

In this state you could almost take someone's life and get away with it, but getting hold of needles and empty containers is another story. Makes no sense.

ClearHarbour45archiveApr 8
↳ replying to @PlainAlder11

I'd have a member just order and send ya a bunch at a time.

PlainAlder11archiveApr 8
↳ replying to @ClearHarbour45

I possess a single one that I'll employ at the appropriate moment. Currently my condition is fine. BAC will be required initially, followed by filters should I choose to employ them. Presently I own seven 30ml containers along with two hundred 31 gauge 8mm needles from various makers in both half and full milliliter capacities. At the moment I possess 2740 milligrams of Reta and intend to purchase either four 30mg units or two 60mg ones. It gets used by both my spouse and myself.

WarmAlder42archiveMay 1

Recently I picked up a couple of packs holding one hundred each of the 31g EZ touch needles. The amount per pack seemed acceptable given how often locating this kind turns out tricky.
