Summary

peptide or medication options for diabetic gastroparesis and slowed gut motility

Users with long-term type 1 diabetes describe chronic slowed motility and constipation from nerve damage. Several peptides are mentioned as possible prokinetics, including oxytocin, ipamorelin, and tesamorelin, along with one user's report of symptom relief from ipamorelin during an acute episode. Personal accounts note reduced reliance on laxatives after starting one compound and stress the need to match the right receptor pathway. A separate suggestion points toward researching domperidone.

What this discussion establishesWhere people disagree

one participant corrected that tesamorelin does not act on ghrelin receptors unlike ipamorelin

Still open

lack of human trial data for the peptides discussed

Nothing here is advice.

Hi folks. For 28 years I've been dealing with type 1 diabetes. My blood sugar management stays pretty solid overall, yet the complications hit my intestines instead of causing foot neuropathy or vision problems from retinopathy. This has led to damaged nerves there, resulting in much slower gut movement. Anybody else around with ideas on this? I checked out some info on VIP but found almost no personal accounts regarding this particular problem.

This caught my attention right away. Oxytocin acting as a prokinetic agent in gastroparesis came as a surprise to me. Considering trying it alongside bpc157. Plenty of details shared here though I wish human studies existed. Appreciate the read this morning.

It lines up since doctors give this drug to start or boost labor pains when a baby is being born. They handed it over to me three separate times. Others turn to it in different situations and here I sit feeling silly πŸ™ˆ. I'm curious how it hits someone who isn't expecting.

Compounds of that type saw clinical testing regarding stomach emptying issues in diabetes cases. A certain version got developed specifically for the condition though its accessibility remains unclear to me. Because of overlapping traits another option in the same category could deliver similar results. Several months ago I suffered a sudden episode of slowed stomach function making it impossible to consume 800 calories per day for more than a week even though my usual requirement sits near 3000. The peptide I tried worked remarkably well back then offering quick improvement. Naturally the current problem differs from the one I faced.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts here. During a span of twelve to twenty-four months, four blockages in my digestive tract occurred. By testing various eating patterns, I identified the items that created movement issues. Years of persistent backup and pain meant depending on weekly stimulant-based aids for emptying. Roughly seven days earlier I began that substance aimed at raising ghrelin output, and it seems to offer minor improvement up to now.

I figure this version has zero influence on ghrelin since it copies growth hormone releasing hormone. A receptor agonist is what fits the need instead. The names share an ending yet belong to unrelated categories and produce quite distinct actions.

I appreciate you sharing that knowledge. Combining ipa with the item might be something I try. Some should show up for me on Wednesday.

This got me thinking about gastroparesis paired with domperidone as a subject worth some investigation.
