10 weeks on Reta and stalled

14 replies15 peopleMar 13, 2026☆ Follow
Summary

Why have I stalled after losing 30 lbs in 10 weeks on 2.5 mg Reta with no scale movement for 13 days?

The thread treats the 30 lb loss as strong early progress on a low starting dose and views the short plateau as likely temporary. Most contributors recommend titrating upward while also checking whether appetite control remains effective, whether calories need recalculating as TDEE drops, and whether non-scale measures are still improving. Several note that body composition can continue changing even when weight is static.

Not shocked really, just sharing how it's gone so far. Ten weeks in I've dropped thirty pounds but nothing has changed over the past thirteen days. Still at 2.5 mg.

Just bump the dose?

SteadyTimber49archiveMar 13

You dropped a lot quickly and that pace rarely lasts. Solid start though, and at a low dose you still have plenty of room to go higher and get the scale moving again. Good luck.

Same idea here. Twenty-five pounds off in ten weeks felt decent at an average of two and a half pounds a week. The doses are low but they seem to work for some.

ClearHarbour45archiveMar 13

That's the starting dose. Time to move up. You already knew that. Nice work.

That's a big drop and still on a low dose, so really good. Congratulations. I'm also starting low and nowhere near those results, only three pounds off after about four weeks.

Solid progress. When the scale stops the usual next step is to raise the dose, but first check if appetite suppression is still working and whether food choices or activity can be improved. I once thought I was stuck at 7.5 mg on Tirz after a month with no loss, yet the second month at that dose brought another ten pounds. Small changes add up, and it's better not to expect extreme weekly drops since everyone's path differs.

Need the numbers. What was your start weight, current weight, and goal? I had thirty pounds to lose and after twenty-five the scale stopped. Those last few are tougher, but if you're starting from three hundred then the stall is real and a dose increase may be needed.

CopperSignal27archiveMar 14

Hard to call it a stall while still on the starting dose. Fifteen percent loss on 2.5 mg of reta seems reasonable, and the first ten pounds were probably fluid anyway. The current flat spot may just be the body rebalancing fluid. If food intake hasn't changed at all you're probably still dropping fat even though the scale reads zero. Still, go up in dose.

SharpCinder28archiveMar 14

On top of everything else I'm a fan of pairing peptides with fasting protocols, especially the GH ones. Once the reta dose is higher, cagri can also fit in, particularly if GH peptides carry risks for you.

SteadyMarble54archiveMar 14

To judge properly, what are your macros? A lot of people think they're stalled when their TDEE drops as weight comes off yet they keep eating the same amount. They may simply need to lower intake rather than raise medication. Only increase the dose if the drug itself has stopped working. Check food first, then consider the medication.

PatientWillow11archiveMar 14

First off, congrats on the thirty pounds. You should raise the dose now since 2.5 mg is barely above the trial starting amount. Also pay attention to non-scale wins like how clothes fit. Body composition can keep shifting even when weight stays put. As you carry less, the same activity burns fewer calories so more effort is needed to keep the scale moving, whether that's longer sessions or adding weights. Cheers.

I'm in a similar spot right now, trying to decide between cutting calories more or adding exercise. My diet has stayed steady and appetite suppression is still solid even at my low 1 mg weekly dose.

AmberMarble84archiveMar 14

Thirteen days isn't a stall. Your body is just settling after the quick drop. You're still on a low dose so there's plenty of room to go up.

PlainSignal69archiveMar 14

If you're only watching the scale you miss the bigger picture. A real stall means no change in body fat, lean mass, or waist. I've had several weight plateaus where fat and waist kept improving while lean mass rose. Those weren't stalls, just the body adjusting to the new situation.
