3rd attempt with PT-141: The Adventures of the Perpetual Erection

Summary

What side effects and risks come with higher doses of PT-141, and how serious is a prolonged erection?

One user reported a 6+ hour erection, appetite loss, and next-day full-body aches after 2.5 mg. Others stressed the four-hour priapism threshold for seeking ER care and noted that PT-141 differs from melanotan. Some distinguished ischemic priapism from typical PT-141 effects and mentioned exercise or avoiding certain drug combinations as factors.

I had a tough time with PT-141 the other day and figured I'd share so others can adjust their dose more carefully. The first two tries at 0.5 mg and then 1 mg did nothing, so I went up to 2.5 mg. About 45 minutes later it kicked in hard. After taking care of things the erection just stayed around for roughly six hours, maybe longer because I eventually fell asleep. Appetite disappeared completely too, and the next morning I felt like I'd run back-to-back marathons with aches everywhere. Next time I'll stick to half-gram steps.

You should check the linked post and article I mentioned below. The titles leave out the key warning about it possibly being the last erection you ever have. Hope you dodged that, even though it's not exactly the same substance the mechanism might overlap. Be careful going forward.

Is everyone here really experimenting with PT-141 without first looking into priapism and the rule that four hours means heading to the ER?

I did read about it and knew the four-hour ER guideline. This isn't my first time with something in this category, so the long-lasting effect wasn't a surprise. Everything is back to normal today.

I don't mind if folks handle things their own way, but it bothers me that more cautious men might come across accounts of an erection lasting hours, then nodding off, and treating the whole thing as amusing without realizing it could signal a serious health problem.

Overnight erections from PT-141 usually aren't the same problem as true ischemic priapism. The real risk comes from combining it with other drugs like trazodone or antipsychotics. The number of hours matters less for diagnosis than other symptoms.

Yeah, when I tried Viagra years ago that erection actually hurt. This one was more just annoying than painful.

SharpCinder28archiveMar 16

Lower-body exercise such as squats or using an elliptical might help relieve priapism.

Huberman was talking about melanotan. PT-141 is the FDA-approved version.

This compound got the okay from regulators for just one issue affecting certain females.

I shot it into my partner the following time.

Since I was my own partner yesterday that tip wouldn't have helped. I basically held an orgy for one.

Trying to square those two details. Are the full-body aches a direct side effect of the substance itself? I always figured they came from overexertion, but maybe that's wrong. Or maybe your solo session was that intense of a workout.

NorthLantern91archiveMar 16

This started as a general warning to help others dose more safely but turned into oversharing. I wasn't expecting the extreme muscle soreness the next day, so I looked into it and found it's a known though uncommon side effect. One source even called it flu-like muscle aches, which matches exactly. All the soreness and the urge to stretch faded after a few hours.
