Best help for "food noise"?

Summary

how to manage ongoing food noise and cravings at max tirzepatide dose

Users report that tracking intake and increasing protein can reduce noise for some while others add low-dose semaglutide on an offset schedule or use distraction tactics like forum reading and pet interaction. One person described switching from 7.5 mg tirz alone to a 5 mg tirz plus 1 mg sema stack after a break and anxiety episode, finding the combination stabilized everything. Another suggested micro-dosing sema starting from the lowest amount and stopping titration once noise is controlled.

My person has been using tirz for more than a year at the top dose and is only holding weight steady now. They still have a fair amount left to lose yet deal with strong urges and constant thoughts about eating even at fifteen milligrams. They notice they get satisfied quicker than before the shots but that feeling seems to be fading. Any ideas for handling the urges and the nonstop thinking about food?

I'd suggest keeping detailed records of everything eaten. It surprised me how replacing some calories with protein helps keep those thoughts under control. Now if only someone would stop adding that strong whiskey to their drink all the time...

I agree that protein handles real hunger. A shake or a meal high in protein should deal with that. Handling the thoughts about food and the urges is just an extra effect some people notice but not the main reason these meds exist. It is possible to eat past the effects just like with surgery. Maybe my person should find something else to do. Reading the forums reminds me I am on the medication. Having a cat on my lap all the time also adds guilt if I reach for a snack out of boredom.

In my own case I began adding tiny amounts of semaglutide and it removes the thoughts about food and the urges completely.

Can you share more details on the amounts used?

ClearKettle23archiveOct 16, 2025

I'm keeping my weight steady now. Previously at seven point five milligrams of tirz the urges and thinking about eating became really bad along with intense anxiety. I've dealt with binge eating issues since age fifteen though not formally diagnosed. Took a month off and put on twelve point eight pounds then slowly restarted tirz while adding tiny weekly amounts of sema. Currently using five milligrams tirz and one milligram sema and it's holding steady nicely.

What I'd try is using very small amounts of sema offset by three days from the tirz shot. Begin with the tiniest amount like someone new to these meds. Halt any increases once the food thoughts are managed.
