Summary

how much weight do people typically lose in the first month on semaglutide tirzepatide or retatrutide

Users report first-month losses ranging from zero to 21 pounds, with most seeing 5-13 lbs that is often largely water weight. Losses tend to slow after the initial weeks even as doses increase. Several note the importance of hydration and electrolytes while others mention slower but steadier progress over multiple months.

Basically the title. How much weight did you drop when you first began dieting with sema, tirz, or reta during month one?

SteadySparrow75archiveJul 11

Probably around 10 or 12 pounds. I have the exact number written down somewhere.

BrightBramble77archiveJul 11

My first month came to about 9 kg. The second month has slowed a little, maybe from adding HCG into what I was already taking. This week I dropped roughly 0.6 kg while on 2 mg of Reta, and I also feel more hydrated than before.

On tirz I dropped 8.8 lbs the first month. I hit a big stall lately so only 2 lbs came off in the last 30 days, but I will take it. Weekly average sits at 1.4 lbs as of now. I have added more resisted cardio lately. Looking forward to stacking Elora with Tirz once my order shows up, since studies show strong results without stalls. The hardest part for me is drinking enough water, which I think is limiting progress, and it is the simplest thing to fix. Thanks for the nudge, drinking now.

I have lost 8 lbs across 2 months, though I am mostly using reta for body recomp and maintenance.

I stayed very strict, both because I was more determined than ever to lose the weight and because the compound cost too much to waste effort. Most of the early drop was water weight the first week, then it settled to a few pounds each week. I pinned on Wednesdays after weighing and only checked the scale once a week, totaling 21.5 lb over the first 4 weeks.

Lost 7 kg of water weight on 2.5 mg per week of Tirz across the first 4 weeks.

How much did you weigh when everything first began?

Started at 102 kg which is 224.8 lbs. Total loss so far is 64 lbs over 36 weeks at 5 mg per week without any titration.

LevelPebble88archiveJul 11

Just 1 kg, which is 2.2 lbs. It improved later, much later.

The three odd months tie back to beginning TRT and starting or stopping creatine.

10 lbs. Be careful with the water intake. I started pushing water hard to support weight loss and later bloodwork showed low sodium and chlorides. I was flushing out useful minerals, especially overnight. Now I take electrolytes every other day and will see fresh results on Wednesday through the portal. I do not recall the next doctor visit date.

GreenBramble47archiveJul 11

About 5 lbs. I only had 20-25 lbs total to lose anyway. Now 15 lbs down after 4 months.

QuietLedger43archiveJul 11

Started Reta about 3 weeks ago. Dropped 9 lbs in the first 2 weeks and nothing more in the third week so far.

Likely water weight, same thing happened to me.

Thanks. I probably will never struggle with over-hydrating. I manage the bare minimum of 64 oz and sometimes less. Planning to aim for 100 oz, does that sound reasonable?

That equals about eight 12-oz glasses. I never tracked my intake precisely. I would begin after one and a half cups of coffee around 6 a.m., keep drinking water during the day except when out briefly, and even bring a glass of ice water to bed.

I lost 9 pounds the first month, equal to 3.4 percent of starting weight or roughly 0.85 percent each week. After six months I am down 41 pounds. Slow and steady is fine because it helps keep lean mass, avoids metabolic slowdown, and lowers chances of loose skin.

CopperAlder51archiveJul 12

I lost 10 lbs the first month on Reta, mostly water. Long-term average came to 2.16 lbs weekly. Overall I have lost 29.8 percent of body weight in 36 weeks, which beat the trial numbers. Reta is my favorite.

RustLantern55archiveJul 13

12 lbs the first month, then 11, 10, and 7 lbs in the next three months. Almost five full months in now. Only 3 lbs this month after changing tirz dosing, which improved energy so the slower scale is acceptable. I am 10-15 lbs from goal and 43 lbs down overall. Getting comments on the change. Still look curvy rather than thin and have more to lose. Chest reduction was less than expected, only one cup and one band size, and I hope for a bit more.

I lost about 13 lbs in the first month on a Reta and Tesa stack. Total is now around 30 lbs down after 12 weeks of peptides while doing a full-body recomp.

RustAnchor89archiveJul 13

Starting weight 141 kg or 311 lbs. On prescription Mounjaro the first month at 2.5 mg gave 9.4 kg or 21 lbs. Month two at 5 mg gave 4.5 kg or 10 lbs. Month three at 7.5 mg gave 2.3 kg or 5 lbs.
