Fixed days for split dosing or not?

27 replies21 peopleJul 27, 2026β˜† Follow
Summary

Should split doses of tirzepatide or retatrutide stay on fixed calendar days or follow a rotating schedule?

Users describe a range of personal schedules for twice-weekly or every-six-day injections. Some lock in the same weekdays for simplicity and travel convenience while others rotate on a six-day cycle or every 3.5 days to maintain steadier levels. Several mention using phone apps or calendars to track rotating dates, and a few note that splitting reduced side effects compared with single weekly shots. One person questioned whether lower concentration peaks from splits might also blunt benefits.

What this discussion establishesWhere people disagree

Whether fixed days or a rotating cycle produces better results overall, and whether split dosing reduces therapeutic effect along with side effects.

I'm wondering if splitting injections onto unchanging weekdays works out better than spacing them three days apart so the calendar keeps drifting. Which schedule do others end up choosing and what draws them to it?

GreenBramble30archiveJul 27

With a weekly dose schedule I like dividing it across two chosen days. At present those fall on Tuesday and Saturday for me.

I go with Monday and Thursday each week. Those days are straightforward to keep in mind, which helps when I head out for the weekend since I won't have to think about the temperature for my medication. This approach works out nicely for my schedule.

I portioned out my reta late on Sunday and once more early Thursday.

Yeah those days work for me as well though I only visit early on. Thought missing the afternoon part wouldn't matter much. Your picture is awesome! It used to be mine on my accounts forever and I forgot all about it until now. Really funny! Don't remember how I came across it so long ago.

I switch around my usual intake on a cycle hitting the full amount every six days. Some phone apps handle remembering those timings for me haha. If I start tossing in extra substances down the line I'll probably stick to that same interval since it fits me well lol

Well then I feel bad for grabbing your online persona like that! 🀣

I stick to a six-day interval with this. Delaying until the seventh leads me to overeat during it.

My routine also runs on a six-day cycle and I monitor the pattern by setting up repeating reminders inside the calendar app.

This is awesome haha... Can't figure out why anyone would last a full week haha

SteadySparrow75archiveJul 27

I divide my shots between Friday morning and Monday morning. The Friday shot lasts me over the weekend. The Monday shot lasts me over the week until Friday.

Without notes to follow, setting injections on one fixed weekday seems reasonable. I maintain records of my doses so I adhere to those entries. My injections consist of reta at six day gaps, cagri immediately afterward, and gluta on alternating days, making it simple to confuse the sequence without records.

Someone once mentioned that dividing up the amount could mean lower peaks in levels than taking everything together in one weekly go. If that turns out accurate, then the helpful results might weaken too, given that splitting often happens to cut down on negatives. Has anyone come across anything confirming whether this actually holds?

I tried out different approaches myself, and the consistent three-day rhythm suits me more effectively compared to the irregular three-and-four-day pattern. This applies to various problems. With the help of that graphing tool, I believe I've figured out the reason, though I realize results vary from person to person.

Switched my weekly shot from one bigger amount to two smaller ones spread apart. The peaks and sensations hit at least as strong as the old way. I've got loads of this med stocked up. I'm only a handful of pounds from where I want to land. Probably in a few weeks I'll begin blending in a second compound then settle into a steady plan by easing doses up or down bit by bit. I always keep several varieties on hand to halt any slow upward drift. This isn't something I'd suggest for others though it's the route I'm taking. Everyone has to sort their own route.

There's an online graphing tool that displays the saturation buildup along with pulsing patterns in clear detail.

I began with injections on Wednesday mornings plus Saturday evenings to hit twice weekly. Side effects made me cut back the amount and switch to every couple of days instead. Those issues have cleared up, so I've started easing up the amount and spacing to reach once weekly. No rush here, so an occasional extra calorie intake doesn't concern me.

My injections of reta happen at three milligrams twice a week, on Sunday evenings plus Thursday mornings. Earlier I used one dose per week until reaching four milligrams. Those produced harsh reactions, which prompted me to divide them instead. Since making the change there have been no reactions at all except rare short spells of skin sensitivity in varying spots that pass quickly. This dosing level feels ideal for me.

LevelThistle44archiveJul 28

My schedule stays basic with reta Mondays plus Thursdays, sema on Wednesdays and Sundays, and trt Mondays Wednesdays Fridays. Tuesdays get the single unsplit shot.

These days it comes without effort. For the past few months I no longer get those hunger pangs by the seventh day. It began once I hit six milligrams, and it remains absent.

SharpWillow45archiveJul 28

I switched away from fixed schedules and now go with every other day or every third day, chosen according to whatever substance I'm using. This approach makes it simpler for me to remember and I think it helps me stay steadier overall. I avoid any tracking software or charts for this purpose.

NorthKettle44archiveJul 28

For years I've stuck with shots late on Mondays plus early Fridays to cover a three-and-a-half-day Reta cycle. Fixed weekdays just feel simpler for me to track than any shifting pattern.

BrightCompass57archiveJul 28

I prefer mondays and thursdays for handling both my reta and trt. The daily gh brings the count to eleven injections across the week at present lol

My tracking app works solely with Apple phones while the task organizer I rely on handles Android devices well.

AmberSparrow79archiveJul 28

I space out my T doses on a six-day cycle which shifts the weekday each time around. Whenever another compound enters the picture and I want to limit unwanted reactions I check the buildup period along with elimination rate then see if stretching the gap by one more day feels workable for keeping the schedule steady.

I stumbled upon a nice graphing utility that helps visualize and compute the concentrations for these types of agonists according to the administered amount and their persistence time.
