How much weight loss

Summary

retatrutide starting dose and first month weight loss results

People starting reta at 2 mg weekly commonly report 11-13 lb losses in the first three to four weeks, though average responders see closer to 1-1.5 lb per week at low doses. Some combine it with ADHD medications that further suppress appetite, while others note initial GI setbacks from large meals due to delayed gastric emptying. Losses on tirzepatide range from 6 lb the first week down to 1-1.5 lb weekly later, with total drops of 25-55 lb over several months. Long-term use is viewed by many as necessary because studies show most weight returns after stopping.

What this discussion establishesWhere people disagree

Whether combining reta with ritalin and wellbutrin creates extra synergy beyond appetite control remains unclear among participants.

Curious what starting doses of reta others began with and how much weight dropped in the first month or two. I've been taking 2 mg weekly for over three weeks and have lost about 11 lbs.

You sound like a super responder; most people lose 1 to 1.5 lb a week when they begin at low doses.

Update: it's actually 13 lbs now. I went from 164 to 151. Strength feels the same but I tire out faster, so I think muscle is holding while stamina has dropped a lot.

I also started ritalin and wellbutrin recently for ADHD, which curbs appetite a lot and may be contributing to the weight coming off.

Hmm, that's interesting. Never thought of Ritalin as helpful for weight loss. Maybe it adds focus or has some combined effect. Not on reta myself, but tirz has worked well for me: 6 lb the first week, then 3 lb a week for the next six weeks before slowing to 1-1.5 lb weekly. I'm at 7.5 mg now and hesitant to go higher, yet I've lost nearly 40 lb in 75 days while tracking calories and hitting the gym six days a week. Still fight nightly fridge urges. Ozempic two years ago actually made me gain, and it was too expensive without coverage so I quit after a month.

I'm using Mounjaro (tirz) and have lost 25 kg / 55 lb since October 2025, with another 20 kg left to reach 85 kg / 187 lb.

I've lost twenty five pounds already. I began with reta on February second using two milligrams. Forty eight hours after starting I faced a difficult experience involving how much I ate and how it empties from the stomach. In the three weeks that followed I reduced the amount to one point two milligrams then slowly increased it to one point six before raising it this week by one milligram to two point five.

I started at 2 mg for four weeks, then moved to 4 mg for four weeks. Eight weeks in I'm down around 22 lb, averaging 2.75 lb per week. Taking one more 4 mg dose tomorrow then going to 5 mg. That leaves two 5 mg doses in the vial.

I agree. That tough lesson two days after starting gave me a 9.5 lb head start I didn't want, but I'm not complaining. Still losing about 3 lb a week. I check muscle mass at each weigh-in and aside from some loss the first week it's holding steady.

Can you be more specific about that hard lesson? I just took my first 1 mg dose and usually fast with large meals in between for weight loss while drinking homemade electrolyte water and taking vitamins. Not sure if that's a bad idea on reta.

PlainSparrow99archiveMar 5

I didn't realize peptides act so quickly at first. On the evening of the second day following my initial injection, I consumed a huge meal along with two and a half oranges. My doctor had also given me a medication that reduces stomach acid and slows things down. Additionally, I had some sparkling water in the late afternoon. The combination led to nonstop loose stools lasting three full days, similar to what happens before a medical procedure for the colon. I felt extremely sick to my stomach and could only manage tiny sips of clear soup. It took nearly three days until I could handle regular food once more. I had the oranges to relieve what seemed like blockage, since half that amount normally helps me. It will be some time before I try citrus fruits like that again. This is just my experience though.

Started the 17th with 1 mg tirz to begin low, then 1.67 mg, then switched to reta at 0.5 mg on Saturday, again starting low. Eating very well so far but only lost 3 lb. Going up to 1 mg reta next. Have 50 lb to lose so I need to increase.

Six and a half months minus 92 lb, with 25 more to go.

What's your secret? That's an amazing amount.

SteadyPebble62archiveMar 11

A month ago I began taking tirzepatide and my weight fell from 206 to 192 within four weeks. Now I've moved on to retatrutide, using two milligrams weekly, wanting to observe what happens.

GreyPebble50archiveMar 11

Kind of scary. They just published a study on stopping GLP-1 after reaching maintenance and the average weight regain after twelve months was 65-70 % of the original loss. Lifelong pinning?

ClearBeacon24archiveMar 11

That's my plan: maintenance dose till the end.

SteadyLedger26archiveMar 15

I lost 42 lb in the first 30 weeks on compounded tirz, reaching 12 mg every seven days. Total loss is 55 lb in 49 weeks. I know this is a lifetime commitment and will research long-term dosing and schedule further.
