My Reta journey

Summary

What early side effects and appetite changes happen when starting very low doses of Reta for weight loss?

The original poster began tracking a first-time Reta cycle at 117.5 kg, using 0.3 mg then 0.5 mg a few days later, and noted mild appetite reduction, brief digestive unease, and ongoing tiredness without dramatic results yet. Other users offered encouragement and dosing advice, suggesting slightly larger but still cautious increments and tools to model blood levels given the long half-life. The thread captures only the first few days of one person's experience.

What this discussion establishesWhere people disagree

One participant argues that starting with doses as tiny as 0.3 mg is unnecessary and risks slow progress, while still accepting the approach as low-risk.

Whether the tiredness is caused by the medication or simply weekend activity, and how quickly meaningful weight loss will appear at these low levels.

Nothing here is advice.

I started this thread to track my own experience with Reta. Never used any GLP1 before. Goal is weight loss from my current 117.5 kg at 6.3 height. Planning to begin low and go slow. Sunday morning I took the first 0.3 mg and noticed a mild drop in appetite that day. Briefly felt some digestive discomfort that disappeared right away, might have imagined it. Sunday night I was extremely tired, though I had done a lot of house work over the weekend. Monday I stayed tired, possibly still from the weekend. Monday evening hunger returned and I ate quite a lot. Tuesday morning I took another 0.5 mg. Appetite was reduced during the day but not strongly; sometimes I thought I wanted food but then decided I wasn't really hungry. Ate little Tuesday. Felt tired Tuesday evening. Woke early Wednesday. This Wednesday morning I felt somewhat hungry and ate a bit but do

Every big endeavor really gets going once you make that first little move ahead.

I never saw the point in beginning with doses so tiny they take ages to matter. One milligram already feels careful enough if someone wants to play it safe. The approach of spacing small amounts a few days apart lets levels build without dragging on for months. Waiting four weeks between steps can leave you at nothing useful after eight or twelve weeks, and that lack of progress gets frustrating fast. Splitting into 0.3 milligrams every third day still feels conservative, yet it avoids big jumps. Frequent smaller amounts let the total rise steadily while keeping any sudden reactions unlikely. In my own switch from one glp drug to the other I split modest amounts across every other day and reached fifteen milligrams inside a month because hunger had returned after holding a large loss steady for years. Following the same pattern, half a milligram every couple of days moves things along at a reasonable pace. Stick with that interval, raise the size each week by small steps, and four weeks later the weekly total sits near three and a half milligrams, enough to notice an effect. The gradual weekly bumps carry less chance of trouble than standard schedules, provided any mild reaction prompts a pause before the next increase. Side effects usually show up when blood levels peak, so the smaller repeated amounts avoid sharp spikes that bigger single doses create. Once the increases are finished it is simple to move to single weekly shots instead.
