Summary

what kind of body composition changes are realistic after four months on retatrutide following tirzepatide

A 39-year-old man at 5'7" reports dropping from 220.8 lb at 38.7 % body fat to 188 lb at 32.2 % body fat in roughly four months while preserving muscle mass. He started with low-dose tirzepatide, added retatrutide, then switched to 3 mg retatrutide weekly, paired with protein focus, running, and lifting. Forum members note that visual changes become more dramatic at lower body-fat levels and that maintenance calories feel harder without the medication's appetite suppression.

Lately I've questioned whether my efforts were really paying off, but a recent scan brought encouraging results from all the training, eating changes, and other steps I've taken. At five foot seven and thirty nine years old, seeing those figures has given me fresh drive to push ahead even though my rate of change has eased up lately. I was starting to wonder about my own willpower, yet now I feel ready to stick with it. I began back in January twenty twenty six, so that's around four months so far. At first I used one medication weekly in low amounts, then added the second one alongside it, and now I've switched over to just the second at three milligrams per week. This group has also been a big help because the shared details and overall tone here meant I didn't have to figure everything out by myself. Back at the start I weighed two hundred twenty point eight pounds with thirty eight point seven percent body fat and seventy one point four pounds of muscle. These days the scale shows one hundred eighty eight pounds, body fat is down to thirty two point two percent, and muscle sits at seventy one point seven pounds.

Congrats, that's solid progress. Keep it up. What's your goal weight? The numbers show clear downward movement, so there's no need to doubt yourself. Progress pictures can also help because you may not notice day-to-day changes, yet comparing photos from one, two, or three months ago usually reveals a big visual shift. Keep going.

Thanks! My goal weight is 155-165. My wife has been taking progress pictures, but I don't see the changes I hoped for in them. The numbers still don't lie, so I'll stay consistent with the routine. This is starting to feel like a lifestyle, which is the real goal. Once I reach my target, eating at maintenance could turn out to be very difficult or genuinely enjoyable, maybe both.

Nice progress. Only four months and 32 pounds down with no muscle loss. What tool are you using to measure weight and body-fat percentage? Keep doing what you're doing. Don't get discouraged by a stall or even a small gain here and there. Just stay consistent and the results will follow. Congrats!

Thanks a lot. I had an InBody scan in February and another one earlier this week. In between I've been using my Garmin scale for approximate updates. I'm aiming for 165 g of protein daily. I run short distances of 1.5 to 4 miles a couple times a week and do strength training on the other days. Adding fiber supplements and magnesium glycinate daily has helped with the mild constipation from the GLP-1s.

The visual difference is still present but less obvious when you have a lot to lose or have already lost a lot. Once you get down near 155 the change will look much more dramatic because the leaner you become the more striking the appearance. Eating at maintenance will definitely be tough. Right now I'm on 1500 calories, which is a big deficit for me, yet this cut feels easier than when I was eating 2500 calories at maintenance without reta. Without the medication I still had constant food noise and hunger. Now I have to push myself to eat because I'm never hungry and fill up fast, so it almost feels like bulking even though I'm cutting.
