Question about Reta

Summary

Why am I getting painful itchy bumps on my stomach again after restarting Reta and why does it seem less effective now?

The original poster describes skin sensitivity returning on restart after a break, along with reduced effects, and wonders if the frozen vials have spoiled. One reply identifies the sensation as allodynia, a known GLP-1 side effect that is usually minor. Others suggest titration may be needed after a pause and that lab testing is the only way to confirm potency. Storage and dosing details are requested for more clarity.

Reta has been around for 7-8 months. I used it for 5 months then got these tender areas on my belly that were painful, itchy and raised. Took a 2 month break and when I restarted the same spots appeared. It also doesn't seem to be doing much anymore. The vials stay frozen until I need them. Could the Reta have spoiled? Any ideas?

Many users report that pausing these meds and resuming later means the effects aren't as strong, so you need to increase the dose again to notice them. Since these are the same Reta vials from before, what would make them go bad? It's the same kit after all.

Have you had it checked by an independent lab? That's really the only reliable method to know for certain.

Can you give more details on the vial or vials? What strength are they? Have you been using just one vial or the whole kit? Do you dose and then put it back in the freezer until the next injection?

That's known as allodynia. Search for that word along with GLP-1 and you'll find plenty of info. It's a fairly typical reaction. Not something serious from what I've seen. I experience it as well, especially on my sides when wearing a loose shirt. Brushing my forearms feels odd too. I actually enjoy these weird feelings so it doesn't trouble me.
