real difference - RETA x TIRZE x SEMA

5 replies5 peopleMay 1, 2026☆ Follow
Summary

What real differences do people feel when switching between retatrutide, tirzepatide, and semaglutide?

Users who tried tirzepatide then switched to retatrutide report more food noise and hunger on reta, though it does not derail progress. One person who used all three found semaglutide caused strong nausea and sulfur burps while tirzepatide reduced those but produced worse anhedonia and low motivation to exercise. Weight loss occurred on each but side-effect profiles differed enough to prompt switches.

Hey everyone. If you've gone from tirze to reta, what actual changes did you notice day to day? Not the science, just how it felt in practice. It looks like some discussions treat tirze and sema the same as reta.

I stayed on Tirz for just under a month then switched to Reta. Lost 10 lb on Tirz and 43 lb so far on Reta, with roughly another 40 lb left. More food noise shows up on Reta, which isn't an issue for me but feels different. The original problem was food noise more than hunger. The science side of the differences interests me more than the subjective feel.

I used tirz for 9 weeks and dropped over 24 kg. On reta for just over a week now and I feel hungrier around dinner, though it hasn't affected my goals. Bowel movements have also become a bit less frequent than they were on tirz.

One upside with the food noise on reta is less worry about rebound hunger that often happens with tirz. I get that rebound if I stretch tirz dosing past five days. I've mostly run tirz. For the final 20 pounds the plan is to return to reta or a makeshift version of it, then later add tirz plus elora once that option is more settled.

I've tried all three. On Semaglutide the first couple days after each shot brought bad nausea and awful sulfur burps plus some anhedonia. Training dropped from five or six days a week down to three. Alcohol lost all appeal. That was my first GLP run and I lost about 12 lb from a starting weight of 176. Switched to Tirzepatide because the nausea and burps were wearing on me. Those two issues eased but anhedonia got worse and all I wanted was to stay in bed scrolling. Lost another 25 lb yet also lost noticeable muscle from barely making it to the gym once or twice a week with weak sessions. Occasional wine with dinner became possible again. I reached my lowest weight on Tirz but felt miserable enough to stop because doing nothing all the time became unbearable. I wasn’t depressed, just had very little desire to
