Should i change my reta routine from once every 7 days to 5 days ?

Summary

Should I switch retatrutide from every 7 days to every 5 days because effects wear off toward the end of the week?

Users report clear hunger suppression and mood benefits for the first 4 days on a weekly schedule, with food noise returning on days 5-7. Several have shifted to 5- or 6-day intervals or split doses and prefer the steadier coverage, while others recommend raising the weekly total first before changing frequency. Early users are cautioned against aggressive changes; tolerance concerns remain theoretical. Diet and running context appear but do not alter the core dosing discussion.

What this discussion establishesWhere people disagree

Whether to increase dose first or change frequency immediately; whether more frequent dosing risks faster tolerance.

Long-term impact of shortened intervals on tolerance or side effects; optimal schedule for different body weights or goals.

Nothing here is advice.

The issue is that right after the shot the first four days deliver full noticeable effects like strong appetite control and better mood, yet by day five the benefits start dropping, food noise creeps back in slowly, day six gets tougher, and day seven is rough enough that I wonder whether the medication is still working at all.

Nothing is fundamentally wrong with switching the schedule you described. How long have you been using it, what dose are you on now, and how have you been increasing it so far? Keep in mind that changing from seven days to five days raises the weekly amount by about twenty-nine percent.

Almost four weeks total. Dose is currently two milligrams, which is also what I began with. I see some benefits here and there but am considering going up to four milligrams.

The main reason people stick with once weekly is to lower the chance of tolerance developing. That idea is still theoretical but logical. As already noted, the change would raise the weekly total, so trying a higher dose first might be worth considering. Everything is still experimental with this compound, so testing one approach then the other to see what fits best is reasonable.

I began with every six days from the start. Even so, the effect does seem to drop off by the fifth day for me as well.

For me the strength stays consistent from day one through day five, but then days six and seven bring noticeably more hunger than before I started using it.

You are at a reasonable point to consider raising the dose if needed. Options depend on whether you want to push titration quickly or keep the amount as low as possible while still getting results. For faster titration that could mean two milligrams twice weekly or three milligrams every five days. To stay lower overall, something like one point two five to one point five milligrams twice a week might be better to test first.

Two milligrams twice a week seems like the best choice to me.

That matches what I ended up doing and I have no complaints. I have used split dosing for most of my time on it. Managing sides has been important for steady progress and I have been satisfied with the results.

You seem experienced so I wanted to ask about my running and training. I do four to five gym sessions plus three to four runs per week, mostly long runs of ten to thirty kilometers plus some intervals. Right now I am at eighteen hundred calories with one hundred eighty grams of protein, sixty grams of fat, and the rest carbs usually landing between eighty and one hundred twenty grams. I weigh eighty kilograms, already have decent muscle and visible abs, and want lower body fat for better appearance. Is it better to stay with the aggressive deficit I am using now or switch to a milder two to five hundred calorie deficit?

PlainAlder11archiveApr 13

Remember the half-life is around six days, so a difference between day six and day seven is noticeable for some.

SteadyTimber49archiveApr 13

I have tried several different intervals and settled on every five days as the one I like most. Worth testing to see how it feels for you.

Your macros look reasonable and the moderate carbs are probably helpful. You might aim for the higher end of that carb range and reduce fat slightly if you need to keep calories down. Otherwise continue as you are and keep checking how you feel, since you are still early in the process.

You are still on a low dose and only a few weeks in, so it is early to draw firm conclusions. Details like age, starting weight, goal weight, and height would help. If you have substantial weight to lose then raising the dose will probably help with the drop-off later in the week. If sides are an issue then splitting or moving to every five days can be considered. The amount needed also depends on whether you are starting from a BMI around thirty or forty. There is no evidence of tolerance to the weight-loss effects themselves, though some early effects like delayed gastric emptying do show tolerance.

I had the same pattern where days two through four brought little interest in food and then days five through seven made it increasingly appealing again. Since you are still early it could be a mistake to double exposure right away. Options worth trying first would be one point six milligrams every five days or splitting into one point one milligrams every three and a half days.

SharpWillow20archiveApr 14

I began with every seven days but switched to every six because of returning hunger. A bit under five months in and down twenty point five kilograms so far.

SlowTimber48archiveApr 14

I moved to every five days after noticing days six and seven were not effective. I am currently at eight milligrams every five days.

GreyTimber78archiveApr 14

Nine weeks in at three milligrams and planning to go to four next. From Sunday dinner through Thursday morning food is not interesting, but by Saturday it feels like nothing was taken so that becomes a one-meal cheat day. Started at two twenty-five, now around one ninety-six. Protein intake is still too low despite five hard workout days a week and step count needs raising. Will test four milligrams but will probably shift to a five-day schedule anyway.

Just go with the current schedule and allow yourself to eat more on one or two days. Give it a couple of months and trust the scale instead of how you feel day to day. Avoid the urge to keep chasing stronger effects.

My schedule is Monday Wednesday Friday and that is the only one that has been used so far.

Is that to reduce sides? Unless sensitivity is very high, twice weekly such as Monday evening and Friday morning gives a clean three-and-a-half-day split, lower amount per injection, and steadier levels overall.

RustTimber30archiveApr 15

I have used every six days for the past two months and it has worked well. As others mentioned, days six and seven were the hardest for food noise, so the change helped.

Yes, sides have been almost nonexistent except for skin sensitivity. Monday Friday does sound simpler, so thanks for the suggestion.
