Tirz to Reta

21 replies11 peopleJul 14, 2026☆ Follow
Summary

How do people handle switching from tirz to reta, including whether to taper, stack, or wait for clearance?

Users describe tapering tirz gradually to low doses like 5 mg or 2.5 mg before starting reta at 2 mg and titrating slowly, while others add low reta doses alongside ongoing tirz without full taper. Some combine both from the start or use split dosing to manage side effects. Progress is tracked via weight loss percentages, appetite changes, and blood sugar, with emphasis on slow adjustments to avoid GI issues. Experiences show mixed results on renewed loss after stalls, and many view the process as a long-term trial of each compound separately before considering stacks.

What this discussion establishesWhere people disagree

Whether to fully stop tirz before reta or maintain a stack for better results

Still open

Whether reta will ultimately produce more loss than continued tirz or tirz/cagri combos for those at a long stall

Nothing here is advice.

For anyone who has moved from tirz over to reta, how did the change go? Did you begin adding reta while still using tirz, or did you hold off until tirz had cleared completely?

Hey there, welcome. You might want to try the search tool first since this question has come up plenty of times already and there are lots of old threads with answers. No need for a fresh post on something that's been covered repeatedly. Still, welcome aboard.

That's fair, but some of us are new here and want to join in, and this topic still matters to me as a newcomer. I started the thread hoping for recent personal stories rather than just old posts. Maybe a few will share their own experiences. It would be good to talk directly with someone who's done it. Welcome as well.

Many people drop their tirz dose while beginning reta, but if it were my choice I would bring tirz down slowly to 5 mg or even 2.5 mg if hunger stayed low. Then stop tirz and begin reta at 2 mg, going up gradually. Trying each one by itself helps show how well they work on their own. After that you could think about combining them if needed. This is a long process, and after nine months on 10 mg tirz I won't stress over a short stall as long as weight stays stable and I feel okay.

LevelThistle44archiveJul 14

I posted before about the way I moved from tirz across to reta. I'm now at week 30, down 73 lb which is 26 percent to 208 lb, on 18 mg reta plus 0.25 mg sema, and still losing about 1 percent of body weight each week.

GreyAlder39archiveJul 14

I avoided the whole question by running both compounds together.

CopperQuill49archiveJul 14

I'm on 15 mg tirz and have been stuck for a year, so I added 0.25 mg reta without lowering the tirz. I tried 1 mg reta about a year ago and had bad stomach problems, so this time I'm starting very low and going up slowly. The plan is four weeks at 15 mg tirz with 0.25 mg reta, then four weeks at 15 mg tirz with 0.5 mg reta, then 15 mg tirz with 0.75 mg reta, and finally 12.5 mg tirz with 1 mg reta before checking how I feel.

Yeah, I have some 10 mg reta arriving soon that I can start adding to my tirz over the next couple weeks. Those vials will let me begin at 1 mg and build from there. I've always responded strongly, so even if someone suggests starting at 2 mg I expect to reach that fast.

Same here, I began with a 10 mg vial. I did 2.5, then another 2.5, then 5. I've stayed at 7.5 and later 10 for some time. I judge things by my daily blood sugar averages and how strong the side effects feel.

Okay, maybe I will, but I threw up the first weekend on 2.5 mg tirz. I hardly have any sides now on 5 mg twice a week, so it's hard to say.

I was only joking around. It's 2:09 your time and you're still up?

I'm the same way, sleep an hour or four, wake up, can't get back to sleep, read or do something else, then maybe grab a few more hours or not.

Still, I'm looking seriously at the sleep and relaxation peptides as my next big purchase. I don't have space for more and the girlfriend is getting tired of all the incoming packages and supplies, so I'll need to sneak this one in.

My sleep has gotten steadier after adding magnesium along with a patch and an antihistamine. Waking around four in the morning had been happening regularly for some time. I head to bed between eight and eight thirty and drop off almost at once. My spouse realizes we keep this compound around yet has no idea how much. She uses it herself but I ready the shot and administer it for her, and not as a joke either. The items stay in the freezer in the garage while the rest of the materials sit in a cabinet out there. She has already peeked inside that cabinet.

Yeah, I keep the magnesium glycinate on the nightstand but forget to take it. Benadryl knocks me out but leaves a foggy sleep. Some of the reviews for the sleepy peptides sound great with claims of the best sleep ever. I was surprised I got the small chest freezer into the condo with almost no comment. I expected major eye rolling but got barely any reaction. I just put the first case of twenty kits inside. All GLP-1 stuff, reta, tirz, a little sema. That's my long-term stash that won't be touched for years. There's another twenty-kit case going on top with a mix of GLP-1 and therapy peptides. I'm waiting on the last two to four kits and then that case goes in too and probably won't be opened for a long time. I also have about twenty-six kits that will be split between a third case of working kits accessed once or twice a year and some vial cases for daily use that will live in the vegetable drawer with

AmberBeacon75archiveJul 17

Hopefully next week when I get my reta, three weeks later, I'll keep tirz at 5 mg and add 0.25 mg reta each week until I reach 2.5 mg, then maybe drop tirz to 2.5 mg. We'll see how it goes. I've never tried reta before, so...

I'm now at 12.5 mg tirz plus 0.25 mg reta on the same day as the tirz, then another 0.5 mg reta three days later. I had a small stomach issue when I tried a second 0.25 mg split dose of reta and I'd rather not repeat that, so I'm still going very slowly. Reducing the tirz a bit hasn't increased anything noticeable, but the reta has given a little more appetite control. I'm at the lower end of my usual 195-200 lb range but no real new loss yet. I'm hopeful that continuing the slow reta increase will let me handle it well enough to start losing again. I'm also getting ready to follow a meal plan and track calories again now that I feel like I have more medication help. In short, I'm optimistic.

Good luck. I'm still stuck between 195 and 193 and have been for two months. I added some cagri and just went up to 15 mg tirz. Hopefully that gets things moving. I have one month of tirz left and I'm trying to decide whether to stay on the tirz plus cagri combo, add reta, or switch fully to reta while keeping the cagri. Who knows. I'm from the broken gen-x group and have been on some kind of diet my whole life, so counting calories makes me want to gag, but I might have to get serious about it if I want these last thirty pounds gone. I'm seeing real progress in the gym but I want to hit my goal.

We sound a lot alike. I've tried every diet too and just turned 52. Started at 280 lb, so if 195 ends up being my final weight after all this experimenting I'll be very thankful, even though 165 would be the real target. For what it's worth, going up to 15 mg tirz and even trying 20 mg for a month didn't give the same effect the earlier lower doses did. If stacking reta doesn't work, I'll be watching for elora to become easier to get. Or maybe just learning to be okay where I am.

Yeah, 15 mg doesn't do much for me either. I started at 272 lb twenty-six months ago and I'm around 195 now. It's life changing, but I'm still overweight and I don't want to be. Don't get me wrong, I'm really happy with my new body, but part of me expects all this effort to get me into size 8 jeans.
