Try easing the dose down a bit and check whether that changes anything. Faster heart rate is a frequent complaint with reta and the part I dislike most because it feels so much like anxiety. You might still see some increase at any amount, but if the ramp-up was quicker than your body could handle, test 3 mg or even 2 mg for a week. If the anxious feeling stays the same you’ll know it happens regardless of dose; if it eases, stay lower for a while before going up again.
Woke up several times this morning with my heart pounding hard, almost like intense anxiety. I raised the Reta amount fairly fast because side effects had been minimal, yet now I suspect I should cut back. Currently at 4 mg and heard glucagon effects mainly start at that level or above. Should I drop the dose? Would splitting help, or is this just expected? Either way I’m really into these GLP meds now.
