Personal record on retatrutide starting dose

15 replies9 peopleMay 10, 2026☆ Follow
Summary

what early weight loss looks like in the first week on retatrutide

One user reported dropping 8 lb in the first week after starting 1 mg then 1.5 mg retatrutide while also using several other compounds and supplements; others attribute most of the drop to water weight, illness, or a plateau break rather than fat loss. The thread shifts into discussion about whether new users should post detailed logs and how communities should respond to enthusiastic first posts. Later replies share longer-term results and prior GLP-1 experience.

Started retatrutide with 1 mg on May first when I weighed 254 lb. Second dose was 1.5 mg on the eighth. After emptying out, weight is down to 246 lb. Both shots were taken with 400 mcg of one peptide, 330 mcg of another, and 1000 mcg of a third. Also using some oral fat-burner supplements and a couple other compounds.

Eight pounds in a week is a big drop even if not all of it is fat. Looks like a solid beginning.

Probably mostly water, given how much came off.

Might fit in a couple of the existing threads on the same topic.

Yeah, water or the flu I had probably played a part. Also feels like it broke a plateau I had been sitting at for a while around 115-116 kg; now at 112.

Stuck for only a week? That does not add up. Do you use pounds or kilograms? The first post had pounds, now kilograms.

I meant I had been stuck at 116 kg for quite a while before even starting retatrutide. I am in the US and just switched to kilograms because converting felt like too much trouble at the moment.

Maybe keep a notebook or use some tracking app instead of posting every detail here. Most of us are already logging our own progress. Hope it continues to go well.

I should probably start writing things down too. I think I am on week seven now. So far I only noted prices and this week started tracking calories weekly instead of just keeping them in my head.

Tracking does help. I have not kept regular notes in years and the brain fog makes it feel like work. I am too lazy to tell other people what they should record though. I just speak into an AI to dump my thoughts into a file.

Let the new excited people post a bit even if it is annoying at first. Everyone eventually calms down after their own turn in the spotlight, so there is no need to police it.

Good start. The first week is often the toughest. Early losses are frequently water and less inflammation, but that still counts as real progress. Here is my own eight-week update that looks similar: started at 151 kg and reached 133 kg, with the quickest drop happening in the first couple of weeks before settling into a steadier pace.

Were you already on another GLP-1 before this or is retatrutide your first one?

Eighteen kilograms in eight weeks, nice. I used semaglutide back in 2021 for diabetes for roughly five months. This is the first run since then.
