How much product do you figure is actually left behind? A 25-gauge needle has a 0.01025 inch inner diameter. At one inch long that holds about 1.6 units. Most people doing subq with water-based stuff use much smaller needles like 31 gauge half-inch, which holds only about 0.42 units. Adding air on purpose to save a fraction of a unit seems odd. I've hit vessels a few times and have no interest in pushing more than a tiny accidental bubble.
I normally grab 3mL syringes since they're free but switched to 1mL recently and saw how much stuff stays behind in the barrel and needle after the shot. It stands out when mixing 100mg of that copper peptide with 3mL bac water for 0.1mL shots. Anyone tried the air lock trick? Thinking of testing it tonight.
