Several studies show that stopping and restarting often leads to weaker results and makes it harder for the medication to work again. You will probably need to raise the dose to reach a new effective level.
Sorry for the long post, but has anyone else noticed Tirz suddenly stop working after a break? My first shot was the full 2.5 mg and it hit me so hard I almost went to the ER because of existing reflux issues. After that I started with tiny amounts and raised them very gradually. Over six months the most I ever used was 2.4 mg. Side effects were always rough: bad heartburn, reflux, stomach inflammation, occasional pain, and bad constipation. Still, the quieting of food noise made it worth it. Then in May a virus forced me to stop for three weeks. When I restarted and raised the dose again I got zero side effects, which sounded good until I realized the benefits were gone too. No fullness, no reduction in hunger.
