Need some motivation lol ( What's your Reta dosage + speed of fat loss looking like? )

34 replies14 peopleMay 19, 2026β˜† Follow
Summary

What retatrutide dosages are users taking and how fast are they losing weight?

Users report starting at low doses like 0.5-2mg and titrating up to 5-8mg weekly, with losses ranging from 10lbs in three weeks to 42lbs in four months or 20kg over eight months. Many note initial rapid drops that include water weight, followed by steadier fat loss when combining the drug with calorie control and training. Side effects such as sulphur burps, nausea, fatigue and GI issues are common early on or after dose jumps, and several advise slower titration to reduce risks like gallstones or loose skin.

What this discussion establishesWhere people disagree

Whether eating very clean makes a major difference versus simply eating less overall, and how quickly doses should be increased without causing lasting sides.

Still open

How much of the early rapid loss is water versus fat, and whether individual genetics or prior cycling affects final skin elasticity outcomes.

Nothing here is advice.

Been running 5mg of reta for three or four weeks and dropped 13kg from 134 down to 120-121. Curious what dose made the big visual changes for others and how they handled sides, especially the sulphur burps that drive me nuts. Also want to hear the biggest single-week or single-month losses people have seen so I stay motivated to keep going hard.

Just finished my third shot at 1.5mg five days ago on the 14th. Started May 1st at 255.6lbs and now at 245.02lbs, so 10.5lbs off in nineteen days.

How much does eating clean actually move the needle? I already do home-cooked meals 75-90 percent of the time and only grab Uber Eats occasionally, trying to pick better options. If I pushed that to 95 percent plus, what kind of extra difference would I see while on 5mg weekly?

SteadyTimber49archiveMay 19

Thirteen kilos in a month is wild, and jumping straight onto 5mg is aggressive. The quicker you push the dose the more sides tend to show up. I began at 2mg and only reached 5mg after seven months, losing 70lbs along the way.

One day! Watch out for pancreatitis and gallstones.

I didn't start at 5mg. I've been cycling on and off reta for nearly a year with short breaks when supply ran out. Always began at 0.5mg and bumped by 0.5mg every three weeks during those cycles, so the jump wasn't huge. I did go from 2.5 to 5mg this round and only felt rough for one day after fixing my old eating patterns. First week of the current cycle was 2.5mg then straight to 5mg.

Eating clean equals no big difference. Eating clean equals big difference. Eating less equals the real difference.

PlainAlder11archiveMay 19

Running 8mg and down 42lbs or 19kg in four months. Also keeping carbs on the lower side.

IronAlder37archiveMay 19

Your note finished by mentioning the loss of so many pounds during a single day.

Damn. My dad's friend dropped 66kg in six months with nothing but old-school diet and training, no peptides at all.

Some keys on my keyboard are messed up. Thanks for catching that.

NorthWillow72archiveMay 19

A couple reasons to slow the pace. You'll get there anyway and feel better while saving money. Keeping loss around one to two pounds a week gives skin time to tighten. Faster than three pounds a week raises gallstone and pancreatitis risk because the liver dumps cholesterol into bile and the gallbladder doesn't empty enough. Rapid loss also costs more muscle.

CopperBeacon14archiveMay 19

Congrats on the results, that's solid. No need to rush though. I get the excitement, I made myself sick the same way at the start. You mentioned source trouble, but there are ways around that if you're going that route. Week-on week-off isn't ideal since reta is meant for steady weekly use. Thirteen kilos already counts as insane progress in my book, and pushing harder brings real risks when you're not starting from an extremely high weight. Slow and steady will still get you into those old jeans without you noticing.

I'm not starving myself. Being a big guy means even normal movement burns a lot. I'm holding a 2500-calorie deficit (maintenance around 3500 but I use 3200 to be safe), training six days a week, and keeping meals decent, though I need more fruit and veg. Strength hasn't dropped in the month I've lost 13kg. I don't stare at the scale or crash diet to force another kilo. Probably 40-60 percent of the early drop was water after months of bad eating, and now it's shifting to fat. Excess skin is something I'd fix with surgery if needed, but I'd rather avoid it while still losing at a decent clip without losing muscle.

I am at a high weight for me. Used to sit around 95kg at 6ft to 6ft1 and now 120kg at 6'3 with what feels like 40-50 percent body fat. Going the gray route for supply now. The on-off cycling only happened because we lacked a steady source and were overpaying badly. Each of us has our own kit now. The first 13kg is the first real loss I've had in ages so a lot of it is probably water after eating like crazy for months.

Keep in mind nutrient partitioning isn't the same with junk or processed food. Those options lack real nutrition and carry extra sodium and bad fats your body doesn't need. Still, eat what you want. One or two bad meals a week won't ruin things. Any muscle lost can come back with muscle memory once you bulk again. Skin elasticity is mostly genetic anyway.

If it helps, I was around 110kg at 5'4 and that's not even that high compared with some people here. Body-fat scales might be worth getting even if they're not perfect. Glad you're done with the week-on week-off pattern. Finding a better supply after overpaying is annoying. First big drop sets expectations high, but the rate usually slows once the water weight is gone. Ride it out.

Yeah I get it. I just want to stay as clean as possible because for five or six years I ate whatever I felt like and that piled on the weight. I used to play semi-pro football in London but let myself go. Genetics seem decent and I want to reach my natural limit, look good and feel good. Occasional bad meals are fine for most people, but after years of bad habits it feels like undoing the progress I'm finally making.

I was on 26 likes plus 34 total reactions but it got cut in half right after a short chat with an admin that turned sarcastic. Turns out there's an automatic system for talking too much. I thought that's what a forum is for.

Eight weeks in and down 20lb or about 9kg. Early sides were rough so I split the dose into two 1mg shots a week and that still works. Lost 12lb the first month but hunger suppression only kicked in recently, making it hard to hit calories and macros. Electrolytes helped with the GI issues.

IronAlder37archiveMay 19
↳ replying to @NorthCompass23

Only sides I get are headaches the day after pinning, slight nausea, and sulphur burps that show up when I eat really fatty foods.

NorthCompass23archiveMay 19
↳ replying to @IronAlder37

No sides now, but the first couple weeks brought GI trouble, elevated heart rate, heartburn, total food aversion, terrible sleep and extreme fatigue. It was rough.

IronAlder37archiveMay 19
↳ replying to @NorthCompass23

When I doubled the dose I only got food aversion, fatigue and plenty of sulphur burps. Not as many issues as some others.

I'd suggest titrating slowly instead of rushing. You've already lost 26lbs or more. When I pushed the dose faster I ended up with nasty skin sensitivity that still hasn't gone away after almost three months.

PatientWillow72archiveMay 19

Needed 8-10mg a week before reta really started working for me. Wish low doses had been enough, but it matches tirz results without the constipation that made me switch.

PatientHarbour23archiveMay 19

If you're not eating cleaner and training regularly the results won't be as good. Abs are made in the kitchen and finished in the gym. Junk food undercuts the fat-burning and appetite suppression.

IronLantern24archiveMay 20

Started reta on 1/5 at 0.5mg the first week and now at 2.5mg every 3.5 days. Eat whatever I want twice a day and do light exercise four times a week. Losing 1-2lbs weekly. Anyone eating cleaner and training harder than me should drop more.

This happened to my mother after chemo and it ultimately killed her. That's why I refuse to lose more than 8lbs a month. I'm sure my loose skin would have been worse with faster loss.

Our timelines kicked off together. Reta partners then???😊 My bad. Never figured gallstones might prove that deadly. Shed upwards of twenty five pounds every month on numerous occasions.

IronLantern24archiveMay 20
↳ replying to @SlowSignal40

She started treatment at 135lbs and ended at 78lbs in under two months. Stayed there until she passed. The gallstone problems never let her regain any weight. They removed them but it didn't help.

BrightPebble45archiveMay 20

Eight months on, the fastest loss phase began around 4mg roughly 12-16 weeks in. Down 20kg total and still at a weekly dose of 6mg, currently at 60kg.
