Lifting with peptide cycles

Summary

Best ways to cycle and dose CJC-1295, Ipamorelin or Tesamorelin with weight training for sleep and recovery gains?

Users report running these peptides mostly at night before bed, often 5 days on 2 off, and note deeper sleep plus modest strength improvements during lifts. Some stick to lift days only while others run daily regardless, with mixed views on whether skipping days reduces benefits. Direct HGH is mentioned as an alternative for older lifters but raises concerns about shutting down natural production. Bloodwork tracking of IGF-1 is suggested by several to check actual response.

What this discussion establishesWhere people disagree

Whether peptides must be used 5 consecutive days to avoid leaving gains behind versus only on training days; also whether direct HGH works better than secretagogues once past a certain age

Still open

Ideal total cycle length before a full break and whether long-term use affects natural GH output

Nothing here is advice.

I started lifting again and have been trying CJC-1295 plus Ipamorelin at night on training days. Wondering what others have learned from their own research or personal runs with these or similar secretagogues. Any noticeable change in sleep? Mainly interested in how people timed their shots, how often, and what amounts they used so I can check if my schedule is missing something. Right now I do 250-350 mcg right before bed only when I lift. Thinking about switching to a steady 5 on 2 off pattern even on rest days or if that would just be extra without the workouts.

SharpFenwick93archiveDec 18, 2025

The combo gave me some facial flushing for roughly ten minutes after the shot, yet sleep quality on these secretagogues has been solid. I used to sleep poorly but a straightforward 250 mcg tesamorelin with 250 mcg ipamorelin two hours after my last meal has helped a lot. I follow five days on and two off. Better rest shows up as better gym sessions. I train six heavy days a week and even while cutting hard I am not losing much volume or strength. Probably not all from the peptides but I feel good on them and wish the sixteen-week limit before a break was not needed.

PlainKettle41archiveDec 18, 2025

Thanks for the details. Did you test any of the other options to compare how strong the effects felt? Have you always trained six days while using them? My reading did not turn up clear info on whether running fewer than five straight days still lets you go past sixteen weeks or if skipping days means missing some upside. Makes sense to keep both approaches going and track results.

From what I gather there is no rule against using only on lift days, but if you do that I would pin the night before training or in a fasted state ahead of the session to get more from it. The five-on two-off idea is mainly about avoiding receptor burnout, though it might also just come from clinics not being open weekends. I kept the same pattern for ease and stopped worrying if it was perfect. My training has been six days a week long before any peptides. Sleep effects from CJC and tesamorelin felt similar, but tesamorelin shows almost no sides at lower doses. Those are the two GHRH types I have tried; ipamorelin is the only GHRP so far.

PlainKettle41archiveDec 18, 2025

I asked an AI about the protocol and it pointed to anecdotal reports saying that not doing five days straight means missing some gains because steady use matters more.

KeenTimber66archiveDec 18, 2025

I just began a four-day upper lower split after fifteen or twenty years away from lifting and now sit at a desk ten hours daily. Built a simple home gym. Still sore from earlier sessions. Currently on TRT dose testosterone, HGH on the way at two units, plus creatine. First real cycle so keeping it simple. Also using reta and a few other compounds for recovery and repair. Reta leaves me tired but the other items fixed that and more. Getting older so noticing wear at forty-five. Reading suggests older users may do better with straight HGH than the CJC or tesa plus ipamorelin route because restarting natural output can be slower. Not sure where this is heading but can share dosing and how it goes.

PlainKettle41archiveDec 18, 2025

I am thirty-six and have read that straight HGH is better saved for later because it can lower your own growth hormone rhythm. I am going to move the CJC and ipamorelin up to five days a week with two off and watch what changes. Also need to check my testosterone numbers to decide next steps there.

Would be good to check IGF levels now and then. I use a certain lab service for that. There was talk recently comparing prices across sites. In some cases IGF can actually drop while on the peptides, and I have seen bloodwork showing that.

I know I should get bloodwork but keep putting it off since I feel fine, though that is not the best way to judge overall health.

QuietAlder25archiveDec 18, 2025

I run tesa and ipa in cycles. While on, size and strength move forward nicely. When off, new gains slow but I do not seem to lose what I built. I like that water weight drops and I look more vascular during the break. My pattern is eight weeks of five on two off then four weeks completely off. I still pin on non-lift days. Now looking into tesa with GHRP-2 since it is said to be stronger, though the hunger spike and how good food tastes right after can be an issue.

PlainKettle41archiveDec 18, 2025

I am going to try the same cycle. What amounts worked best for you?

QuietAlder25archiveDec 18, 2025
↳ replying to @PlainKettle41

One milligram tesa and one to two hundred mcg ipa. I tried two milligrams of tesa but water retention and faster heart rate became too noticeable.

QuietAlder25archiveDec 18, 2025

After four weeks off I tested IGF-1 and it sat in the middle of the normal range. Planning another test a few weeks into the next run.

ClearKettle41archiveJan 24

Just started CJC-1295 without DAC and ipamorelin hoping to fix my sleep pattern. Also on reta and another recovery item. I have been a night owl for years, getting my second wind around six or seven and not feeling tired until well past twelve thirty, averaging only four or five hours. Forcing earlier bedtimes or naps just makes me more tired. On day four now. No gym changes yet but sleep is shifting. First night I crashed around two and slept hard for ninety minutes. Second night I felt ready earlier, got in bed before one and stayed down three hours. Third night I was in bed near one and only woke briefly before my usual six thirty alarm. Right now I am yawning and lack the usual late energy. After this I will pin, shower, and check sleep again.

Curious about this stack too. Are you also doing five on two off? Assuming shots are before bed on an empty stomach? How long do you plan to run before a break? Sorry for all the questions.

Have the strength and size changes been clear with tesa and ipa? I am already on tesa and the ipa should arrive today. How much did heart rate rise for you?

QuietAlder25archiveJan 28
↳ replying to @GreenSparrow52

Yes, strength and size both moved forward in noticeable ways. When I stopped the cycle strength held but some size faded. The changes were not huge but they were real. I started mainly to hold muscle while dropping weight and the extra size was a bonus. Ten minutes after a one milligram tesa plus one hundred fifty mcg ipa shot my heart rate climbed ten to twenty beats for three or four hours. At two milligrams tesa the jump was thirty to forty beats for five or six hours. Still managed to sleep through the faster rate. My normal resting rate is sixty-five without any peptides.

No issue with the questions. I have three vials so at least an eight-week run, but will check progress at thirty days. Started at one hundred mcg and am moving to two hundred. Will test three hundred to see if it adds more effect. Not going higher to keep water retention and carpal tunnel risk low. Since there is no DAC the release stays pulsatile so no need to cycle off and on. Even though the goal is sleep I noticed my last leg session felt stronger and I finished all sets including deadlifts. Two weeks in and results look good so far.

WryPebble70archiveJan 29
↳ replying to @ClearKettle41

Did not realize no DAC removes the need to cycle. Interesting, and it matches the more natural pulse pattern. Still, could the receptors still lose sensitivity even with the natural feel? Also confirming you pin before bed fasted?

ClearKettle41archiveJan 29
↳ replying to @WryPebble70

The short pulse from no DAC avoids pituitary desensitization. Half life is only thirty minutes while DAC lasts six days or longer. I take it before bed on an empty stomach.

ClearKettle41archiveFeb 4

Quick update after finishing the first vial of the no-DAC CJC and ipamorelin stack. Sleep is now very deep. This week workouts started feeling different too. Hit a new overhead press PR of one hundred thirty for five sets of five, after being stuck around one hundred twenty to one hundred twenty-five. Felt strong with energy left for extra sets. Bench tonight also moved better than last week. Overall happy with how it is going beyond what I expected. Only downside is not staying asleep quite as long as I would like, but that may improve. Hope this helps anyone still deciding on the stack.

I have a kit of the no-DAC version in the freezer but no ipamorelin. Should I try it solo first or pick up the ipamorelin and run them together?

SteadyAlder49archiveFeb 4
↳ replying to @SlowBramble78

I would wait and stack it with ipamorelin, though it is not required. They work well together. One raises how often the pulses happen and the other raises how strong each pulse is. It is a one-plus-one-equals-five kind of effect.

GreenSparrow52archiveFeb 4
↳ replying to @ClearKettle41

One hundred thirty on overhead press is strong. I am about to start the tesa and ipa stack myself. Currently only pressing eighties overhead so hoping for some progress. Reviews are mixed though, some push the no-DAC CJC with ipa while others prefer tesa and ipa. Have you tried the tesa version?

What did you mean by that part? Sounds like something that could help me too. I am forty-one and in a big learning phase on this stuff.

GreyCompass75archiveFeb 4

I agree on the sleep changes. Deep but the total time is shorter. Over time the length does seem to stretch out a bit.

KeenTimber66archiveFeb 4

I am forty-five and natural output drops with age. From what I have read, peptides to raise IGF-1 are not as direct as running HGH itself. Labs from early January showed IGF-1 at four hundred eight, flagged high. Z-score was plus two point five. At that time I was on one hundred sixty milligrams of test. Estradiol was also high. Both test and estradiol numbers influence IGF-1. Added one unit of HGH at night to keep the z-score near three. Sleep improved a lot. Six weeks ago I raised test to two hundred and added one hundred fifty of primo. New labs today and I want to see how the ratio and IGF-1 changed.

ClearKettle41archiveFeb 5
↳ replying to @SlowBramble78

From what I have picked up these two work better together. Ipamorelin raises the height of the pulses while the other raises how often they occur. Using either by itself does not seem to offer the same upside. There is also lower risk of desensitization when both are used. I am still learning though.

ClearKettle41archiveFeb 5

Thanks. Until recently I have not felt strong at all. I am also curious about the tesa and ipa combo. I ran tesa alone not long ago and did not notice much difference compared with the current CJC and ipa run. Still want to try tesa with ipa once this cycle ends. If I get to it I will post results.

ClearKettle41archiveFeb 5

Thanks for sharing that. I have two more vials to finish the cycle. Hopefully the longer sleep stretches show up soon.

KeenTimber66archiveFeb 8

Latest IGF-1 came back at two hundred ninety. Earlier it was four hundred eight. Down one hundred eighteen. Z-score now plus one point six, inside normal. Earlier it was plus two point five. Looks like the primo lowered estradiol and that pulled IGF-1 down. Will raise HGH from one to two units nightly to bring the z-score back near three and retest in three months.

ClearKettle41archiveFeb 24
↳ replying to @AmberKettle62

I track most health numbers through my watch and health app. Workouts go into StrongLifts. Still looking for a solid peptide log, checking one called Peppedia that seems decent. Sleep has been a bit uneven but gym progress is clear. Hit two hundred twenty-five on bench for the first time and one hundred thirty-five on overhead press last week. Happy overall since I did not expect the gym boost. Still have a vial and a half left to finish.
