Does injection/reconstitution volume matter?

21 replies16 peopleJan 1, 2026☆ Follow
Summary

Does reconstitution volume affect peptide injection comfort, dosing accuracy, or effectiveness?

Forum users generally prefer smaller injection volumes for comfort and convenience, except with irritating compounds like GHK where more diluent reduces pain. Several note that higher volumes improve dosing precision and reduce the impact of liquid loss from vial draws. Experiences with MOTS-c vary, with some reporting benefits from prior SS-31 use while others see effects without it. Low-volume approaches work for many but can feel psychologically off for others.

Just starting out with some T-20 and my gut says smaller injection volumes should cause less irritation. I was thinking of mixing 20mg into 0.8ml BAC so a 2.5mg dose would only be 10 units. Any downsides to using more BAC instead?

BrightBeacon35archiveJan 1

I prefer smaller volumes too. With mots c I once added just half a ml to a 10mg vial so the whole thing could be taken in one go.

Volume only becomes an issue with the more irritating compounds like GHK. Extra BAC helps a lot with those unless pain is the goal.

That sounds great. I just received my Mots c and ran out of bac water, but more arrives tomorrow. I like the idea.

I handle my Mots the same way. SubQ shots over half a ml are not my preference.

I usually add more BAC. Some liquid gets left behind or lost with each draw, so a lower concentration means less active material is wasted. Higher volumes also make small measurement mistakes less impactful on the actual dose.

How frequently were you using 10mg of mots c?

BrightBeacon35archiveJan 2

Three times a week, usually on training days.

That schedule would suit me. With 100mg total I could do 10mg in half a ml three times weekly on workout days for about three weeks.

I like more volume because a one-unit slip then changes the dose less. Tirz also is not one of the irritating ones so extra liquid should not cause issues.

Did you notice any benefits toward the end of the run?

BrightBeacon35archiveJan 2

A mild lift, though I skipped SS-31 beforehand which some say helps. Results seem to vary based on how optimized someone already is.

How well did that mix with so little bac? I have a 40mg vial I use every other day for 3.5mg, which is around 26 units normally or just 4 units your way. Makes me wonder about trying it with my other vials too.

It is recommended, so I think I will get that first before trying the mots-c. Thanks again.

Such small unit counts make me doubt it will work properly. Just started mots c with 3ml in a 40mg vial, which gives 15 units, and that already feels low. The bpc I began is only 10 units and feels odd too.

Volume and concentration are separate. To get higher unit numbers you simply add more liquid, which lowers the strength per unit.

AmberCompass54archiveApr 7

Smaller volumes are better in most cases, except the irritating ones. For GHK-cu I take 2mg in 20 units and still get red itchy spots, but anything less was too painful.

SteadyQuill55archiveApr 7

I also like lower volumes; 10-20 units feels fine and I avoid going past 35 when possible. Larger amounts just feel off in my mind. For MOTS-C without SS-31 first, I ended up with long-lasting site reactions that took months to settle, so I will not repeat that. SS-31 stays on my regular list along with a GLP-1, epitalon, and KLOW.

Regarding the MOTS-c comment, what dose and duration did you use before moving to it? I train heavily with no energy complaints, yet noticed quick performance gains after starting about ten days ago. A quick check suggested I might not need SS-31 first, and the cost difference is large, so I wonder if it would actually help me.

RustQuill44archiveApr 9

I keep it straightforward. For T-20 I use 2ml so 10 units equals 1mg and a 2.5mg dose is 25 units. Only if the dose got much higher would I adjust. I stick to 40 units twice weekly.
