It's fine to move slowly. I started my wife at 0.5 mg because she worried about side effects. If you've already been at 1.5 mg for a couple of weeks, go up to 2 mg for two weeks, then add another 0.5 mg every two weeks until hunger no longer bothers you. For example I inject Sunday evening and if hunger appears on Thursday I know it's time to increase; if it waits until Saturday I stay put. Because of how the levels build I don't see a need to split doses for better results, though splitting can reduce sides. I'd rather see one 3 mg shot than two 1.5 mg shots 3.5 days apart if there are no sides, since the single larger dose gives a stronger signal. Splitting is harmless but not required. Taking it slow is smart and often leads to better long-term outcomes.
I'm on 1.5 mg of reta once a week. Food noise stays low except it starts to return toward the end of the week. I notice many others are using much higher amounts, 6 mg or 8 mg, plus the study doses. Is my dose too small? Should I raise it gradually each week once effectiveness drops? I've also thought about splitting the dose into two injections per week instead of one larger one. I'm new so please go easy.
