When you were little did you already not mind them? Everyone has different pain sensitivity. Or maybe you were always handled by skilled people so you never got nervous. You are lucky. I have been wondering the same about that condition. No doctor has mentioned it, but I have all kinds of odd symptoms. On the nine-point hypermobility test I score nine out of nine.

I think I just got used to it. If the person is not skilled it can take six or more tries to get an IV. The record was fifteen attempts before a charge nurse took over. We are on opposite ends of the spectrum. Have you tried icing before the injection? That should make vessels constrict and might reduce bruising and bleeding.

He was a big tall muscular man who seemed unfriendly at first but turned out to be excellent once I got him talking. Looks can be deceiving. Yes, I use lidocaine, ice, more lidocaine, more ice, then headphones with relaxing music while looking away and thinking of something else. After bleeding and bruising even with such a tiny needle I am starting to think it must be something else.
