Epithalon sleep effects dosing timing and administration methods

155 replies51 peopleApr 21, 2026☆ Follow
Summary

how epithalon affects sleep quality and what dosing or timing adjustments improve outcomes

Users report highly variable sleep responses across 500 mcg–5 mg doses over 10–25 days, with some noting deeper sleep or vivid dreams and others experiencing insomnia, nightmares, or no change. Cardiac concerns arise from one report of heart rate dropping to 30–40 bpm while on beta blockers. Experimentation with lower starting doses, mid-night injections, morning administration, and gradual buildup is common, as is switching to DSIP when epithalon disrupts rest. Nasal and oral routes show limited or unproven results compared with subq, and interactions with other compounds remain unclear.

Hey everyone, has anyone tried Epithalon alongside Reta? I'm hoping it might help my sleep and wondering if it does. What starting dose makes sense? I've seen suggestions in micrograms from some and milligrams from others.

GreenMeadow27archiveApr 21

Not using Reta myself, but Tirz messed with my sleep and I tend to wake up a lot. My partner and I both take 1 mg every couple of days and now we sleep straight through the night. I can't recall the last time that happened before starting this. We're planning to keep it going long term.

LevelAnchor55archiveApr 21
↳ replying to @GreenMeadow27

I noticed some protocols call for cycling every ten or twenty days depending on the amount used. I also drop off quickly but keep waking up throughout the night and want to give this a shot.

Slightly off topic, but my wife wakes up multiple times and struggles to fall back asleep. Last night she tried 250 mg of Honokiol from that brand and said this morning that even though she woke a few times she went right back to sleep. It seems like a solid addition either way.

ClearTimber11archiveApr 21

I run 0.2 to 0.3 mg daily in two or three week cycles and also use DSIP. It does improve sleep for me. I cycle Sermorelin separately, not at the same time.

GreenMeadow27archiveApr 21
↳ replying to @LevelAnchor55

We decided against cycling because sleep was the main goal and any extra benefits would be welcome. From what I understand it doesn't downregulate receptors the way many other peptides do. Plenty of people take it daily but every two or three days works well for us.

LevelLedger10archiveApr 21

Recommended amounts vary a lot across sites and forums, often landing between 100 mcg and 2 mg daily for ten to twenty days each month. I've been using 0.5 mg daily of the NA version for eight days so far without much change yet. Normally I get zero to twelve minutes of deep sleep and one night it jumped to fifty four minutes which got me excited, but then it dropped back under thirty and now to zero again. Still hopeful and will probably stick with a ten to twenty day run per month depending on the final dose I settle on. Planning to stay at 0.5 mg this month but might try 1 mg nightly next month to compare. Anything over roughly 0.3 mg daily seems unnecessary especially with the NA version. All part of testing it out.

I've come across people using 5 mg or even 10 mg.

I saved a couple of dosing references. It's useful to have more than one when trying new peptides because some cite actual research while others rely on older data or just give instructions without explanation. When the sources disagree I check with AI to understand the reason. If they line up I feel better about following the guidance. That's a practical way for someone who isn't a doctor to sort through the information.

LevelAnchor55archiveApr 21
↳ replying to @ClearTimber11

Hope it works for me without adding anything else. I've always had this sleep pattern and it's not from the Reta, so I'd like to fix it.

LevelAnchor55archiveApr 21
↳ replying to @NorthLantern91

Thanks, the first reference asks where I'm coming from and won't load.

NorthLantern91archiveApr 21
↳ replying to @LevelAnchor55

You're right, I tried pasting the link in a different browser and got the same prompt. It opens fine for me in one browser though. Very odd. I'll add screenshots of what it says about Epithalon.

LevelAnchor55archiveApr 21
↳ replying to @NorthLantern91

You're very helpful. Most people suggest similar amounts but I've also seen studies pointing to much lower doses.

SlowLedger21archiveApr 21
↳ replying to @LevelAnchor55

That sounds extremely high. Epitalon is a synthetic version of the natural epithalamin which is ten times weaker. The 10 mg amounts came from studies on the natural version. One protocol was 100 mg total given as 10 mg daily for ten days each year over two years. Another was 50 mg total as 10 mg every third day every six months for three years. That's from the peptide protocols book.

LevelAnchor55archiveApr 21
↳ replying to @SlowLedger21

I saw the same information so I'm unsure how to begin.

SlowLedger21archiveApr 21
↳ replying to @LevelAnchor55

I just got mine and I'm in the same spot. I always begin very low to check my reaction. Instead of 1 mg daily I might start at 0.5 mg and work up, or even 0.25 mg first since I weigh only 110 pounds, then follow the book's protocol. Let us know how you go and what you notice. Real world reports sometimes feel more useful than the standard protocols.

LevelAnchor55archiveApr 21
↳ replying to @SlowLedger21

I still need to order it. I was unsure about trying it but it looks like there shouldn't be side effects even at higher amounts. When do you plan to begin? Depending on the dose I might get just one vial even though it's more expensive than the full kit.

ClearWillow37archiveApr 21

I ran it for about twenty days at 500 mcg nightly while on Reta and had the best sleep I've experienced. I woke up rested with a clear head and better dream recall. The Russian style dosing seems better. The North American amounts are way too high because people mix up the two compounds. It's my favorite peptide and I wish I could cycle it more often without worrying about throwing off hormonal balance.

LevelAnchor55archiveApr 21
↳ replying to @ClearWillow37

That's the same protocol I saw, which is why I held off on ordering until I heard from people who have actually used it. With one 10 mg vial I could do exactly twenty days.

SlowLedger21archiveApr 21
↳ replying to @LevelAnchor55

I meant to start today but I'm still deciding between tonight or tomorrow morning. It arrived Friday and I didn't get around to it over the weekend. I went ahead and ordered a full set because it made more sense financially than buying singles locally. Might end up with several unused vials sitting around. As someone else mentioned, the executor of my will can figure out what to do with them.

LevelAnchor55archiveApr 21
↳ replying to @SlowLedger21

Single vials would cost more each plus the water separately. Ordering from overseas would end up similar after shipping but if I'm only using 10 mg then the rest of the kit would sit unused. Still, leaving it in the will is a funny idea.

CopperAlder51archiveApr 21

You don't need large amounts for it to work. My first cycle was 1 mg intranasal and the second was 1 mg subcutaneous. I did twenty days the first time and ten the second but prefer the longer run and will repeat every four months. Might try 2 mg next time but nothing higher.

LevelAnchor55archiveApr 21
↳ replying to @CopperAlder51

I'll begin with the amounts from the studies and see how it affects me.

LevelLedger10archiveApr 21

There are lots of different protocols and it really comes down to personal testing. Anything suggesting more than 2 mg daily I ignore because of the common translation mix up with the original compound. Whether to use 0.3 to 0.5 mg or 1 to 2 mg daily depends on how often you want to run it each year. For three or four cycles a year the higher end is common. For the first ten or twenty days of every month the lower end is typical. I've looked at the detailed posts from a couple of experienced users and they line up with the Anela approach of 100 to 500 mcg daily for ten to twenty days monthly. Not many protocols separate the regular version from the NA or amidate forms though. The amidate version resists breakdown better so I'm considering that.

LevelAnchor55archiveApr 21
↳ replying to @LevelLedger10

If I get the full kit I think I'll manage two or three cycles a year at most.

BrightMeadow26archiveApr 21

I've used 1 mg for ten days. It felt safe but I didn't notice any changes. I already sleep deeply. Might try 10 mg daily later but 1 mg is fine for now.

CopperAlder51archiveApr 21
↳ replying to @LevelLedger10

I have the NA version on the way and look forward to trying it. I'll probably begin at 500 mcg. Being older with a past head injury I value the neurological effects most. While on Reta the sleep changes haven't been huge but many report deeper sleep and more REM after a cycle.

GreyLantern40archiveApr 21
↳ replying to @CopperAlder51

Interesting, do you have any details on the benefits related to head injuries? Any published work?

IronPebble47archiveApr 21

I'm really curious about how the NA version differs from regular Epitalon so if anyone has tried both please share. It makes sense that a lower dose of the NA form might be enough but I haven't found anything confirming that.

CopperAlder51archiveApr 21

The overview on the modified version looks good, yet no studies involving people exist for this version, in contrast to the usual form. A lot comes from personal stories shared online, similar to discussions in this group. It suggests injecting one to five milligrams under the skin, however because this variant absorbs more easily and persists longer, nasal delivery could work well instead. I plan to create a nasal mist dosing two hundred fifty micrograms each time and begin using it that way.

LevelLedger10archiveApr 21
↳ replying to @IronPebble47

The literature is fairly thin on the differences among the three versions. Note that NA Epitalon isn't identical to the amidate version. There's a simplified explanation in one of the forum threads. For the sleep discussion there's another thread with good comments and actual sleep data charts.

PlainCompass54archiveApr 21
↳ replying to @LevelLedger10

Okay you've all convinced me along with some other info I found. I'll switch to trying 1 mg daily cycles instead of 10 mg ones. AI suggests I might even feel it more because I won't overload receptors. I'll give it a shot.

ClearLantern81archiveApr 21
↳ replying to @LevelAnchor55 (opening post)

I love this peptide. I started on the wrong high dose injection schedule and felt off. Once I corrected it to 1 mg nightly for twenty nights and switched to nasal spray it worked great. It dramatically improved my deep sleep from around thirty minutes up to much higher during the cycle. Using the spray instead of nightly shots has been a nice change. I'd like to run it more than three times a year so I'm thinking of doing the first ten to fifteen days of each month.

LevelLedger10archiveApr 21
↳ replying to @ClearLantern81

That's impressive deep sleep data. Goals right there.

BlueTimber78archiveApr 21
↳ replying to @CopperAlder51

Any differences between intranasal and subcutaneous?

LevelAnchor55archiveApr 21
↳ replying to @ClearLantern81

Do you use the same spray for both intranasal and subcutaneous or are there different products?

CopperAlder51archiveApr 21
↳ replying to @BlueTimber78

Intranasal gave me almost immediate effects with brighter colors, sharper vision and clearer thinking as the lingering brain fog cleared. Mid cycle I noticed better name and term recall and stopped forgetting why I walked into a room or where I left my keys. That was a nice bonus at my age. The second cycle subcutaneous gave similar benefits though vision sharpening took longer. The brain fog hasn't returned since the first cycle. I also stopped waking at 3 am the way Reta usually makes me. Intranasal seems preferable because it goes right near the brain and optic nerve and avoids liver filtering that happens with subcutaneous.

CopperAlder51archiveApr 21
↳ replying to @GreyLantern40

Here are the studies I located. I had Gemini format them with links. Semax is used in Russia for treatment after head injuries. I think pairing the two could help rebuild and protect. I also included screenshots from Anela's cycle showing results from using Epitalon for a brain injury. There are clinical case studies on multi peptide protocols and a case report on improving biological age telomere length and cognition.

ClearLantern81archiveApr 21
↳ replying to @LevelAnchor55

Not entirely clear on the question. I picked up the empty nasal spray bottles meant for sterile use and mixed the peptide using sterile water meant for injections.

GreyLantern40archiveApr 21
↳ replying to @CopperAlder51

That collection looks impressive. Thanks for pulling it together. More than twenty five years after my own head injury so expectations stay measured, yet the information still feels promising.

CopperAlder51archiveApr 21
↳ replying to @GreyLantern40

No problem. My last injury was ten years back and the peptides still made a difference. Both will stay in regular use going forward.

BlueCompass77archiveApr 21
↳ replying to @LevelAnchor55 (opening post)

It does improve sleep. One milligram each night is sufficient.

SteadyQuill55archiveApr 21

Planning to keep using one milligram daily for twenty days every three months and continue that pattern indefinitely. Shared some with my mother and she decided to follow the same schedule. Feeling protective of the remaining supply after setting aside enough for her next round, with more on the way soon.

NorthCinder83archiveApr 21

Using one milligram daily from two ten milligram vials, which lasts roughly twenty two to twenty four days. Running the cycle three or four times yearly. Earlier rounds started at half a milligram alongside another peptide. Used alongside both tirzepatide and retatrutide. Sleep stays consistent at eight or nine hours regardless so no comment on that aspect.

CopperQuill54archiveApr 22
↳ replying to @CopperAlder51

Could you share more on what Semax does for you? A bit hesitant about using anything besides standard nasal spray in that area. Dealing with brain fog, feeling overloaded, and ongoing tiredness in my forties, plus a demanding mental workload. Considering adding it while on tirzepatide. Also curious how you settled on the right amount.

PatientSparrow94archiveApr 22
↳ replying to @CopperAlder51

Besides how long each cycle ran, did you notice any other differences between the two delivery methods? Just finished making my first nasal versions of two related peptides and now looking at options like epitalon and a few others.

CopperAlder51archiveApr 22
↳ replying to @CopperQuill54

Happy to share. Started by looking up details on the peptide and its variants to compare what each offers. Because of past issues tried five hundred micrograms per spray aiming for a one milligram total and that amount worked well. Easy to adjust strength by adding more saline if needed. It improved focus, cleared lingering effects from an earlier illness, and helped with recalling names and terms required for work. Given your description you might begin with epitalon the way I did before adding this one. Made sprays for both. View epitalon as basic maintenance and this as the accelerator. Details on preparation appear in the linked thread about nasal use of the pair.

CopperQuill54archiveApr 22
↳ replying to @CopperAlder51

That means a lot, thank you. Sounds like my situation matches where you were, so hearing it helped is encouraging. Feeling pretty stuck right now. Will review the earlier thread and begin with epitalon before trying the other one.
